Betal said - listen king! In the city called chudapur , there lived a learner ( scholar) Bramhin named Chudavat . He had one son.named Bhadrabat . Bhadrabat was a ginius and scholar like his father . And he was very handsome. when the son was of marriageable age , Chudavat started looking for a suitable wife for him. But Chudavat could not marry his son in his life, After that he died .

A few days after his father's death, Bhadrabat once went to a place on an invitation. There he met a beautiful girl and was enchanted by her beauty. He proposed to marry that girl named Labanyabati . Labanyabati's parents also agreed to that proposal . He married that beautiful girl and lived happily ever after .

Once Bhadrabat took his wife Labanyabati and went to bathe in the pond. while bathing , Labanyabati drowned in the water and died . Bhadrabat became mad at the sight of such a beautiful woman and started wandering in the forest. He wandered around like a beggar and reached Kanchana pur . His father's best friend Basudev lived there .He was very sad to see knowing Bhadrabat like this . He wanted to keep him by his side. But Bhadrabat not ready to stay there.

That day was Tuesday . Bhadrabat said to his wife , make khir (Indian rice and milk sweet) for Bhadrabat today . Basudeva' s wife immediately made khir and fed it to Bhadrabat. then he grabbed the khir bowl and went in to the garden .

There, he put the bowl under a tree and started crying in grief 😭, remembering Labanyabati.

A poisonous snake lived under that tree. He came out of his hole and threw poison in that khir bowl and went away . Bhadrabat could not know this . Then he eat the khir. After eating khir , his body began to sweating 🥵. His body felt as if he was sick . Bhadrabat realised that khir contened poison. He ran and shouted louded in front of their door - you have poisoned me. saying this he fell there. After few moments his body become still and quiet . Basudev was shocked and panicked to see this scene . He insulted his wife and said - you are a sinner ! Why did you kill a Bramhin ? Bhadrabat is like my son and you poisoned him by khir. Hearing this Basudeva' s wife jumped in to the well and committed suicide.

Betal said - King , judge now and tell me whether this suicide sin will happen to Basudev or not ? Basudev is punished for this or will Bhadrabat be entitled to it .

King Vikramaditya said - where is Basudeva's fault ? The poison left the snake .

Betal said - then who is culprit ?

The king said - Look ! Blaming others with out reason is the biggest sin . No one is to blame for this .

Betal said - then snake will be punished or not ?

Vikramaditya said - No ! The work of the snake is to extract the poison. This is it's nature.

So who is real culprit ? Bhadrabat himself ! He was mad . A fool has no knowledge of his own interests . judging from this point of view , there is no on's fault . Having said this, Vikramaditya remained silent. Betal also went to that tree as before and hang .
