"Hello! Have you finished cooking yet?" called out Lena, already seated at the dining table with her two children.
"Yes, where is it? I'm starving, and the trip to the market took so long! It's so frustrating," grumbled Carin, folding her arms in irritation.
"The food is ready," Charzo announced as he served the meal, saving a portion for his wife by placing it in a small bowl with a lid.
'Is it strange that they aren't complaining?' Charzo wondered silently.
Indeed, they were quiet as they ate. Maybe it was because the food was actually delicious?
"Mom, isn't it unusual that the garbage cooked something tasty? If it's like this, we should just let him do the shopping," Carry whispered.
Lena didn't reply, her silence indicating that she might agree.
"Fine, from now on, you'll do the shopping. But I don't want to hear about it. You must come straight home and don't dawdle, or if you're late, I won't forgive you," Lena declared, without looking at Charzo.
"Yes!" exclaimed Charzo, albeit softly.
"Heh-heh-heh, this way I can have some fun out there," Charzo beamed to himself in the kitchen, jumping around cheerfully.
"Hurry up and clear the dining table, I don't want to see a single grain of rice left on it!" Lena ordered. Charzo, still smiling, tidied up the table and began to wash the dishes.
Afterwards, he went to his room with the clothes he had purchased earlier.
Inside his room, Charzo wrapped the clothes neatly as a gift. Since the last time he had given a gift was their wedding, when he'd presented a gold ring, which had been sold due to financial difficulties.
"I'm home," said Clara as she took off her sandals, looking very tired as she headed to her room.
"Hey, dear, are you back? Do you want something to eat?" asked Charzo.
"Yes, please. Can you make me some iced tea too?" requested Clara.
"Just a minute, I'll get it," Charzo rushed to the kitchen, but to his shock he found Carin there.
What left him speechless was seeing the food he had saved in the small bowl now in Carin's hands, completely devoured.
"Why did you eat that? It was for Clara," Charzo said, upset.
"Who told you to leave it here, I thought no one owned it," replied Carin nonchalantly as she dumped the plate into the sink before retiring to her room.
Frustrated as he was, Charzo just let it be. He cooked another two portions and then prepared the iced tea.
"Why is it taking so long?" Clara asked, a bit annoyed.
"What else could I do? Carin ate the food I had prepared, so I had to cook again. Let's eat," said Charzo, picking up a spoon to feed Clara.
Meanwhile, Clara ate while playing on her phone and smiling to herself.
"Who are you chatting with?" Charzo asked, curious.
"Mind your own business," Clara replied pouting.
Charzo fell silent and continued to feed his wife. Clara was looking at a funny video, unbeknownst to Charzo.
"Oh, by the way, I want to give you something," Charzo said.
"What?" asked Clara, raising her eyebrows and looking at Charzo.
Charzo retrieved the wrapped box from earlier and handed it to Clara.
"What's this?" Clara asked, taking it with a smile.
"Just open it," Charzo said, sitting beside her.
"Charzo! Charzo! Come out here and clean the swimming pool!" Lena shouted.
"Tonight?" asked Clara.
