A traumatic childhood

Trailing on the bridge, she held the staircase handle and followed down the steps, as the cherry blossoms slowly started to fall on her soft hair. Already? I thought it was two weeks after. She shook her head and stopped her feet. Although, it is refreshing. She closed her eyes, wanting to escape the reality.

Flinching, the cold wind hit her face. It woke her up as she continues to walk down the stairs.

"Miri."

A voice startled her. She turned around, as the wind blew harder. She slightly gasped. The voice belonged to a man, much taller than her, with long blonde hair some of it tied into a bun unto his neck falling over his face. He had glimmering honey yellow eyes and his lips parted slightly. The slight swell of his muscles showed through his shirt, as he walked forward.

"Miri."

Who is this guy? Why does he know my name?

"Don't you remember me?" He chuckled, coming nearer.

"I'm sorry, you have been mistaken." She sighed walking away from him. "M-miri, It's me, rowan. Rowan derris. Don't you-"

"It's pretty late, I should probably leave."

She walked down and out on to the road, paying no attention to the handsome man behind her. Did she remember him?

Rowan? I think I've heard of him. But I really don't have the time to talk to him. But am I too rude?

She slowly turned to check if he was there, and to her surprise, he was staring at her still rooted. Miri sighed deeply, and walked towards him. He came down the stairs and smiled. "I thought you'd never turn back." He said beaming as Miri looked as his face. Rowan flinched. She had an expressionless face, and deep silver icy eyes. The wind blew again, as her black hair swayed with it.

Rowan gasped. "Is this really... her?" He whispered clasping a hand over his mouth. "Rowan." He looked at her in shock. "You do remember me?" "Let's meet, some other time, shall we?" She spoke softly yet a cold tone in her voice. "Okay." He nodded as they exchanged their numbers.

Miri bowed slightly and walked away, as Rowan felt tears in his eyes. Where is the sweet, bright and caring miri that I used to know? Rowan wiped the tears away clenching his fist. I will protect you, Miri. I will bring you back.

At her flat-

Miri opened the door and removed her slippers, as she sat on the sofa. "Rowan, you're back." She said sighing. As she glanced over the dining table staring at the picture in the photo frame, which held a sweet and happy family. Miri grits her teeth and tears fall on her lap as she vigorously wipes them away.

"Why can't I move on? Move on miri, they are already gone." She gets up tired and changes into something comfy while squeezing into her bed. "I have to get up early tomorrow, yawn*" She falls asleep, not knowing that things are going to take the biggest turn.

FLASHBACK-

"Dear miri! Be careful~♡" A woman in her forties yet pretty hugged 13-year-old miri in her arms. "Yay! Mommy we will eat lots of food and have fun." A man who was cooking breakfast laughed. "I'm glad miri is happy to go on this trip." "Let's hurry up!" Miri giggled as the family set out on their trip. This is miri's family. She used to be a sweet girl who was as pretty as the stars. Her dad, Yamato shin was a police officer while her mom Ryoka shin worked as a flower shop owner. Miri loved them, and cherished every moment with them.

But every happy moment she had, has to be ruined piece by piece.

Her parents lost their lives, trying to save her from them. She crawled away from them as she held her mom's hand stained with blood as they shot her multiple times as Miri ran away trying to save her dad. "Miri, I love you so much. You are everything to me. Please live happily, and make us proud. I love you, my princess. " Miri yelled crying her heart out as they stabbed his heart as her dad held them back from hurting you.

RUN AWAY MIRI! GET AWAY FROM ME! GO!

WHY ME? WHY ME?

"**DAD!"

Flashback ends**-

She wakes up quickly shivering and sweating. Then as she realized it was a nightmare, she buries her head in her knees, trying to calm herself down. It's been 10 years.

She wipes her sweat as she checked the time. "6:00 am, ah I have got to get ready."

This is Miri shin. A 23-year-old lady, who lost her parents when she was 13. Brutally murdered in front of her eyes, Miri never got back her smile. After the tragic death, her relatives without batting an eye left her alone in the hands of an alcoholic and rap!st man, her uncle. He treated her badly, throwing away the food she made, locking her up in the room and even tying her up to starve her when she made a mistake. He'd bring random ladies and did things to them while her uncle hid her underneath the bed. Miri shut her mouth tightly with her hand trying not to let a cry out.

When she turned 17, her uncle wanted her. He drooled over her and watched her shower. Miri had to break multiple cameras, installed everywhere. She asked, cried and begged for help, but no one, not a single soul, helped her. At school, students bullied her, and no one even paid any attention to her state.

Having no other choice, Miri made up a firm decision in her life. Giving everything she got, she studied hard. Even while her uncle yelled at her, she took her books, ran away to a playground and revised her lessons. Since her uncle spent all his money on gambling and drinking, Miri had to work part-time and work without even eating three meals of a day to pay her tuition fees. All this while her uncle hit, slapped her every night.

Soon she won in an exam and gained a scholarship to a prestigious medical university and along with that, a bundle of money. Her uncle found it and before he could lay his dirty hands on them, Miri ran away from there.

She worked hard, even harder that her roommates worried constantly about her. Soon enough she got into a hospital and was able to get a flat of her own. Now she is a second year medical student working as an intern in Hui central hospital, one of the famous hospitals in the world.

Everything she had, was earned by her.

Nobody helped her then.

So she didn't need anyone now.
