Episode 17

While on the other side, the students in the classroom were discussing the death of Kevin during a free period.

Toni, remembering Dara's dream, approached Dara at her seat.

"Dara!" called Toni.

"Yes? What's up?" asked Toni.

"Do you remember your dream about a student hanging himself in this school with white shoes?" Toni tried to recall Dara's words.

"Yes, I still remember."

"It turns out that student was Kevin. When I was helping to bring down Kevin's body, I saw him wearing white shoes, and according to Erin, his girlfriend, Kevin had gone to the changing room to replace his black shoes with his white ones he usually wore for sports," Toni explained to Dara what he knew.

Hearing Toni’s story, Dara was shocked.

"So the dream was real," Dara blurted out.

"Yes, Dara, there have been three students who have died in less than a month. I'm confused about what's actually happening at this school. Is it cursed?" Toni wondered.

"No, Toni, all of this is surely interconnected somehow, because when I dreamed about the suicide, I remembered seeing the ghost of Julia smiling mysteriously."

"So, it all relates to Julia's death," interjected Mia, suddenly joining them.

"Mia, you startled us appearing out of nowhere, but what you're saying makes sense. How do we find out more?" asked Toni.

Dara paused, thinking about how to find answers.

Minutes later, Dara remembered Mrs. Yasmin.

"Mrs. Yasmi!" exclaimed Dara.

"What about Mrs. Yasmin?" asked Mia.

"You remember, Kevin was called by Mrs. Yasmin about his odd behavior the other days," Dara recalled.

"Oh yes, Dara, I remember," responded Mia.

"But how will we find out from Mrs. Yasmin, and will she even tell us Kevin's secrets?" Mia wondered, puzzled.

"Just leave it to me, I'll find out from Mrs. Yasmin, hopefully it will work," Dara said enthusiastically.

"I hope so, Dara; maybe this mystery will be solved, and we won’t have any more victims," Toni said, worried.

"I don't know, Toni, I can't be sure, but let’s hope not. Let's just try to find out all we can about this mystery," Dara said.

After school, Dara tried to approach Mrs. Yasmin in the office.

Luckily, Mrs. Yasmin was alone, finishing up her work correcting student tests.

"Assalamualaikum, excuse me, Mrs," Dara said, gently knocking on the staff room door.

"Come in," Mrs. Yasmin replied.

Entering the office, Dara approached Mrs. Yasmin, who was alone inside the room.

"What is it, Dara?" Mrs. Yasmin asked.

Dara, sitting face-to-face with Mrs. Yasmi, began asking about Kevin.

"May I ask something about Kevin?"

"What is it, Dara?"

"You had called Kevin to the office; did he ever talk about Julia?" Dara inquired.

"Why are you asking this, Dara?" Mrs. Yasmi wasn’t pleased with Dara’s questioning.

"All of these student deaths must be connected somehow."

"Dara, this school is safe. I've worked here for many years and never experienced anything like this; this is the first time. If you’re finished with your questions, I would like you to leave now!" Mrs. Yasmi said firmly to Dara.

"Okay, Mrs, I apologize, but I had a dream and saw Julia's ghost. She whispered to me that they were all mean to her, and also, in my dream, Julia smiled mysteriously when a student died by hanging, which turned out to be Kevin. I’ll excuse myself now, Mrs. I just want to uncover the truth behind the student deaths here and hope there are no more victims. Excuse me," Dara stood up and walked towards the door.

Mrs. Yasmi remained silent, pondering Dara's words. As Dara reached the door and was about to leave, Mrs. Yasmi suddenly called out to her.

"Dara, wait!" Mrs. Yasmin exclaimed.

"Yes, Mrs. What is it?"

"Could you please come back and sit down, and listen to what I have to say?" Mrs. Yasmi said, adjusting her glasses.

Dara, pleased, approached Mrs. Yasmi and sat down opposite her.

"What is it, Mrs? What do you want to tell me?" Dara asked.

Mrs. Yasmi began to reveal the truth. Dara was shocked to learn that all of the student deaths at the school were indeed connected to something in Julia's past.

After obtaining the information, Dara thanked Mrs. Yasmin and said her goodbyes.

"Thank you, Mrs, for the information," Dara said, kissing the back of Mrs. Yasmin’s hand.

"Take care, Dara," Mrs. Yasmin replied.

Dara left the staff office and headed toward the school gates.

Arriving at the gates, Toni and Mia were waiting for her.

"How did it go, Dara? Did you get the information about Kevin?" Toni asked eagerly.

"It seems I did find out about Kevin from Mrs. Yasmi," Dara responded.

"Tell us, Dara, what did Mrs. Yasmi say? We're curious," Toni urged.

Dara recounted everything she had learned to her friends Toni and Mia, who were both deeply affected by the news.

"Poor Julia, they were so mean to her," Mia said tearfully, remembering her late friend Julia.

"Now that I know the truth, I feel sympathy for Julia. It’s tragic how she had to endure such bitterness in her life, and their deaths are the retribution for their actions," Dara said, defending Julia.

"Let's go home," suggested Mia.

Mia and Dara walked home together while Toni, who lived quite far, rode his motorbike.

When Dara arrived home, her mother greeted her in the living room.

"You're home, dear. I heard there was an ambulance at your school. What happened, Dara?" her mother asked anxiously.

Dara told her mother about the school incident regarding a student who committed suicide. Hearing this, her mother became concerned.

"What a tragedy for that child. Hopefully, there won't be any more incidents like that at Tunas Bangsa School."

"Yes, Mom. I hope so too."

"Alright, go change your clothes. Your dinner is ready. I made your favorite," her mother said to Dara.

Dara promptly left her mother to go to her room and change out of her uniform.
