Chapter Five

Tyler stormed out of his home with an angry expression followed by a heated argument between his parents. He walked towards his car with a cold face and drove off while ignoring the ruckus behind him. On the way, he received a phone call while driving. "Hello Carl, what is it?,"

"dude where are you, the bell is off in two minutes."

"I'm on my way. If I'm not there early, you know what to do," he said quickly while stepping on the accelerator. "we have Mrs Ellen this morning, no chance".

"I'll be there soon, I'm hanging up"

"no...wait. dude!!", Tyler hung up the call uncaring about whatever else Carl had to say. He sped up.

Meanwhile, in Kelandra's room, the entire place was in a mess. Maddie was helping Kelandra get dressed. "baby calm down, we'll find you a nice outfit, okay?" she tried comforting Kelandra who was actually freaking out. Robin was already dressed sat on Kelly's bed munching on his breakfast and watching the live 'drama'. The atmosphere in the room was extremely comical.

Finally, Kelly settled for a purple V-neck shirt, and a dark blue jean trouser that clung to her skin. She slipped on a pair of black sandals and picked up her school bag. "mom, I'm fine now, thanks. see ya, bye Robin, " She ran off quickly from the house into the waiting bus. "mom, you made Kelly miss breakfast." Robin said to Maddie who was also getting ready . "oh...that girl. She'll be fine. She's an adult now."

Kelandra got into the bus and sat down at the backseat, a bit nervous. She smiled at the other dumbfounded students and gazed out of the window towards the busy street filled with hustles and bustles. Not long after, the bus driver stopped the bus at the entrance of the school. She looked up at the gold-plated signboard that read:

✨ WELCOME TO TENIC HIGH✨

She sighed deeply and walked past the gates with a shy smile on her face.

"wow!! who's that?"

is that the new girl.....?

OMG ....so pretty!!

"Hey! look! it's her!!"

On the way, Kelandra noticed that students were pointing or staring at her fixedly. She tugged a random female student ahead "um...hi, can I ask you for a favor?"

" what ?" the girl was somewhat rude.

"I'm new here, can you please show me to the principal's office. I want to see principal Lance.

"I've got something on, but I can tell you the direction". " well....um....I'm really bad at taking directions... please?"

That's right!! Kelandra had a bad sense of direction. Part of the reasons why Maddie never let her near the company and specified her routine. "Fine. if that's the case, find someone else then."

"okay, thanks." She walked over to another student. "hi. Please can you take me to Principal Lance's office?" the boy turned to look at her, "oh! you're a new student. Just go straight ahead, turn left and look for the third door from your right. That the Principal's office."

"hey! wait!....I..." before she could stop him, the boy already walked away quickly with a red face excitedly.

Kelandra face-palmed herself. She looked around and walked straight to the end of the corridor, looked left and right. "well, he said to turn left...right? or left." she turned around and looked towards her 'left'. " okay, third door from my right". She walked past the doors counting in her head," one....two.....three?" But all she saw was a classroom with some students inside studying. Not wanting to interrupt and grab more attention, she chose to leave the building but ended up in another unfamiliar environment, so she sighed.

Tyler had just managed to climb into an empty classroom and was about sneaking into Mrs Ellen's class when he felt a soft and gentle tug on his shirt. He turned back and saw a pretty faced girl looking up at him with slightly big, beautiful brown eyes. He frowned as he looked down at his shirt and asked coldly," what are you doing?" Kelly was still mesmerized by this handsome hunk that she forgot to retract her hand "ah......." Carl's message popped out on Tyler's phone, "Tyler hurry, Andrew has her attention now." Tyler tried to pry his shirt out of her hand but her grip was firm. "Hey! let go!" Kelly instantly snapped out of her revelry but had an idea💡." No!....I...I caught you, so you have to help me!" Tyler frowned once again. *what's she yapping about? " what?"

"take me to Principal Lance's office..........please"

"and why should I do that?"

Beep.........

Carl's message popped out again,"Tyler...... quick, she's coming back!!!"

"Because........ because I caught you trying to sneak in!" Kelly said looking straight into his eyes. Tyler chuckled, " do you know who I am?"

" I don't know who you are ,......but I do know that if the teacher knows that you tried to sneak in, you won't have it easy."

"you...!"

Kelly changed her stance quickly, " okay....fine, I'm begging you. please help me get to the office " .

"no!......."

"........."

Few minutes later....................

Principal Lance's office...............

" it's here, go in." Tyler pointed at the door turning his face away in embarrassment. For some reasons he couldn't say no to that face. He stood aside and folded his arms while Kelly walked into the office quickly. Principal Lance was in his mid 30's. He looked and dressed smartly with a pair of shrewd eyes. He quickly handed Kelly's learning materials to her including her locker key. "Erm....miss your mother has instructed me to take good care of you, so if you have any problems, just look for me or the other teachers, okay?" Kelly nodded and turned towards the door, "actually Sir, someone brought me here, but he's going late for his class. Can you send him in with a note?" " oh..no there's no need for that you just talk to your teacher and everything will be fine, who is it? come in!"

Tyler came in, and Principal Lance nearly had a heart attack. " yo........ Young Master Wes..."

*what guts!.....you actually made this little ancestor send you to my office personally

He suddenly began to admire Kelly's courage and fear for her. Before he could make a sound, Tyler shushed him, " Hello Sir." He said with a humble tone. Principal Lance almost tripped over himself. He hurriedly thought of a way to send them away, "erm.... Miss Stevens, he's your classmate so I think he's more suitable to take you to your class as your form teacher isn't around for now, youn..........I mean Tyler, I'll hand her to you. And Miss, I hope that you'll love it here as time goes on. off you go, you two "

Tyler nodded and led Kelandra out of the office and the Principal wiped off non-existent sweat from his forehead.
