Episode five - Pendant Chaser

That following morning Sophie and I sneaked out pretty early. I packed some stuff like a flashlight and other things that would be needed to journey to Eden.

We all left the school making our way through a footpath into a forest growing behind the church it was a beautiful view until I tripped on a branch falling into Jay's arms. I just laid there thinking this view probably was better☺️. Then realising I was blushing like a over ripe peach. I stood back on my feet and trekked forward sort of embarrassed. Trying to push the thoughts of what seemed like a romance series. Most of the time I tried my hardest to avoid contact with Jay but destiny is fickle. We hiked for miles so when it was getting late we decided to set up camp. Jay and I were both assigned to receive fire wood. Geez how perfectly timed.

He said for catching you when you fell earlier. I then realized I had not thanked him so I did just that . There was a awkward silence for a long time and I just stood there thinking how to break the ice. So I asked him about his pendant .

He told me his father had given it to him it revealed that it brought good luck when he turned fourteen but explained he never used it for personal gain in the music industry. I understood that he never had to because to my ears his singing was like an angels call. When we got back I tried to kindle a fire because no one brought matches. Only for Ling and Yeng to link pendants and a fire just appeared! Yeng explained the pendants reflect destiny through flame so they could easily start a fire . Trust Sophie to say you have a lot to learn Sue giggling funnily. We all were a funny bunch but something was bothering Miss . Julia. I went over to her out of curiosity and asked if she was fine. She said yes it's just today is my wedding anniversary. I said whom is your spouse. She simply said he died in the war, sixteen years ago his title was Major Wind. I sympathized her and now understood why she grieved. My father died six years ago in a car crash leaving my mother, sister and I to fend for ourselves . After resting we continued our quest. While we trekked Ling explained that we would face many tests along the way and our virtues should never leave us. I decided to tell them about the interrogation that took place. Yeng said well then you've already met the Pendant Chaser a man who is the holder of the crescent pendant. It gives rebirth to the holder but always leaves consequences. He is evil and intends to use the pendants to erase goodness and bring terror to the mortals on Earth. Sophie said he was a terrible man until your grandmother Susan Lynn the previous feather pendant holder trapped him in the box however he has been reincarnated and seeks vengeance now. Miss Julia explained the feather pendant skips a generation , it is one of it's traits. Then I realized my mother did not know it's actual power but it was handed down to my mom from my grandmother.
