Chapter 2

Katherine Pov

"Are you okay?"

I don't want to turn around. Noah looked behind me curiously and hesitantly I turned around so that I didn't seem rude. He is just here to check on me.

"I…..um…I…" He laughed heartily like a full blown laugh and I turned red. "You're so cute, be careful next time and don't get hurt okay" he pats my head like I am a child and leaves me red.

What just happened? Did he call me cute? Me? Am I cute? Oh I can't breathe. He called me cute!

"Katherine are you okay?" Noah looked concerned. I got up from the bench feeling like I got 100 in my test paper which is never gonna happen by the way.

"Katherine?" Noah said again, oops I totally ignored him. "Um..yes yes I'm alright- "watch out" He shouts and I bumped into the wall "Ow" not a whattpad wall you guys a real hard cement wall.

"Oh my God are you okay?" He got up and came straight to me, "Katherine you're bleeding" he panics and yes my nose was bleeding. Nothing new happens all the time. It feels like I am cursed to get hurt every time.

"It's okay Noah, I'm fine" I assured him but the boy looked like he was going to have a heart attack. "No it's not fine, keep your head down" He put my head down and gave me a tissue to stop the bleeding and dragged me to the infirmary.

I was sitting on the bed and my friends were surrounding me while Noah sat beside me on the chair. "Are you okay Kat?" Amara asked, looking worried. "I'm okay bro, no worries he was worrying for nothing." I shrugged looking at Noah who gave me a sheepish smile.

"Your friend is free to go now" the nurse said and we left. Jade, Amara and Vela went to their class while Estrella and Noah stayed behind because they had English with me.

"So you met him already I see" Estrella gives Noah a look and he avoids her eyes. "Yup" I say. We walked to the class together. I was sitting between Estrella and Noah.

"Did you finish the essay mam gave on Friday?" I asked Estrella "I was supposed to write an essay?" Not surprising at all. Noah laughs at her cousin "You will shut your mouth if you want to see the sun next day" Estrella threatens shutting him up.

She starts writing the essay that we have to submit at the end of the class. That's how she is. She has a cold, 'I don't care' attitude and gives a rare smile. In short a tsundere. If you don't know what that means, Google is there for a reason buddy help yourself. You're welcome.

After the class ended we moved to the canteen to meet others. I bought myself French fries and a chicken sandwich and sat beside Jade. Noah was sitting on the other table mingling with the popular jocks as they are called, because Estrella kicked him out of our table.

You need to get past Vela and Estrada to sit at our table, which is hardly possible. "How is your nose?" Vela asked while Estrella stole the chicken from her plate and she let her. Friendship goals.

"It's fine, just a little painful" I rubbed my nose gently. I hope I don't look ugly with a bandage right now. Who am I kidding?

"Tell me about your crush, any progress?" As I was going to answer her question excitedly, I didn't notice the ball coming straight at me. Before it could knock me down, Jade caught the ball on instinct.

"I got you girl" Jade patts my back and my mouth opened wide in shock.

"WHO THE ****?" Vela stands up "IS PLAYING WITH A BALL INSIDE THE CANTEEN" her deadly voice echoed through the canteen. We all looked the way the ball came from and saw Ryle trying to hide behind the pillar. Keyword trying.

Vela walks to him gripping his color tightly and dragging him to us. Girl woke up and chose violence. "Look, I didn't mean to hurt her or anything. I was just trying my basketball skills which turns out be bad" She glares at him.

"Apologise" Estrella says calmly "oh yes, I'm sorry, I'm sorry Katherine. I'm sorry for your bad luck" the last line, he thought out loud was the moment he knew he fucked up. And his head came crashing down on the table. "Oops, my hand slipped." Vela dusted her hand like she didn't just smash his head on the table.

Now here we are, in the principal's office. "You smashed the boy's head on the table, Miss Astor?" Mr. King asked, rubbing his forehead. "Yes," She said without feeling guilty.

This was not the first time she was violent. But I can't deny the warm feeling that came after she did what she did. I was bullied because of my so-called bad luck and people started calling me unlucky and started to avoid me like I was a plague.

Whenever something bad happened people started blaming me for everything. If a couple broke up it was my fault, if we were having bad weather that was also my fault. If the p.e teacher had an accident outside the school probably my bad luck was to blame. People just don't understand that I am clumsy.

Bad luck was a sore word for me and my friends know it. "This is not the first time this happened Miss Astor, if your father is investing in school doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. I can't suspend you but you're going to detention for a whole month" She just nods her head in understanding.

"I helped her smash his head," Estrella says. "And I was happy that she smashed his head." I said, "I was cheering for her," Amara said with a bright smile. "I think I should join the basketball club my catch was dope" She told and Mr. King looked at us in disbelief with a migraine on his way.

"Detention for all of you, out of my office"

Mrs. Muffin was in a deep sleep and the troublemakers were doing their own things. Like flying a paper plane, playing rock paper scissors and a couple making out at the back. Gross.

"It's so boring here" Estrella sucks her lollipop "Let's hang out after school" Vela said "I can't I have work" I told sighing at the thought of working. "I'm joining the basketball club" Jade said in determination.

"Go for it my child" Estrella pats her head. "Oh my! Look who's here" Vela said and we all look at the door and found Mr. Jones griping Jordan and Noah's ear. "You will forget ever misbehaving after this" Mr. Jones said and pushed both of them inside the class. Mrs. Muffin sits up being startled by the noise and pretends like she was not sleeping but the drool on her cheeks says otherwise.

Mrs. Muffin was an old lady, with red curly hair and a short chubby figure. The boys walked and sat behind us with a shit eating grin looking very smug. "Hey, we meet again" Jordan give her a big smile and she melt like goo trying not to be obvious.

Estrella elbows me and mouths "say something stupid" I said trying yall. "Oh, hii" I wave back too enthusiastically. "And here I thought you would be careful" he shakes his head in fake disappointment. "Oh this…I ran into a wall" I laugh awkwardly.

"Why are yall here anyways?" I asked the question to Noah because I couldn't make eye contact with him. "He glued Mr. Jones on the chair" Noah answers pointing a finger at Jordan who was smirking in amusement.

"What about you?"

"I couldn't stop laughing" I laughed at him because that's so Noah thing. We all started talking about stuff and I tried really hard not to look at my crush. It was tougher than my exams for real.
