The journey took longer than necessary, as they had to make stops for Elizabeth to stretch her legs; her sizable belly caused her great fatigue, especially from sitting for extended periods.
After two lengthy weeks, General Robertson's army caravan is awaiting the command to enter the city. They have been waiting outside the city for two hours, everyone fatigued.
Meanwhile, in the castle...
King's Advisor: This is a disrespect to your majesty, they should have been here by now.
Leonardo: Something must have happened to delay them.
Meanwhile, outside the city.
Valery, astride her horse, approaches her father.
Valery: General, what's going on?
Lucas: We're waiting for the order to enter.
Valery glances at the wall: That cursed man just looks down on us from above.
Lucas: Captain, proceed with your company; we will enter the city soon.
Valery looks at her father and complies, riding back to rejoin her company, but not before passing by the carriage holding her family.
Angel: Sister, I'm hungry.
Valery: We'll enter the city shortly, and you'll go to the mansion for some food and rest after this long journey.
She returns to her position at the head of her company, discontent, but there’s little else to do.
A lieutenant observing that the Duke Saenz's son is denying entry discreetly goes to the castle, enters the hall, and informs the king that General Robertson's caravan has been waiting two hours to enter the city.
Leonardo is furious, so he sends his son, German, who hastens to the wall and allows the caravan entry. Once permitted, General Robertson leads Marcos in.
The rest of the officers lead their companies, with their soldiers behind them; two carriages enter. General Robertson instructed a soldier to inform his family's carriage driver to go directly to the Robertson family mansion, while they head to the castle.
Upon arriving, General Lucas, Marcos, Jaiden, Dikson, Valery, known by her moniker 'Demon', and Carlos dismount. The latter two escort Princess Daian to the hall.
Princess Daian is cloaked, covering her face as she enters the castle, escorted.
Once in the grand hall, all officials are present, including the queen beside the king and the princes. Strangely, Tomas is absent.
Leonardo: General Robertson, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience upon your arrival, Princess Daian, forgive all that has occurred.
Lucas: Your majesty, no apologies are necessary.
Behind them stand Marcos, Jaiden, Dikson, Valery, and Carlos, with Princess Daian among them.
Daian: Your majesty, I appreciate your concern, but I assure you, I am well.
In the grand hall, Duke Ferre's attention is caught by one of the officers, his hazel eyes captivating, though three of the officers share that eye color.
Lucas: Your majesty, may I present my top officers, Commander Marcos, Commander Jaiden, Commander Dikson, the captains of the shadow company, 'Demon' and 'Ghost.’
Leonardo: I have heard of all the brave deeds of Captain Demon.
The two captains of the shadow company don’t disclose their names, also wearing covers to hide their faces, revealing only their eyes, their identities known only to the general, the soldiers of the shadow company, and the king.
