The next morning, she was awoke by crashing. Scared, she jumps up which causes her to fall out of bed. She gets back up and runs out of her room. But, instead of seeing panic she just sees the others sitting unbothered in the living room.
"Hey, what's that noise?!" Dawn asked worriedly.
"Huh? Oh we forgot to tell you," Israel says chuckling a little.
"Tell me what??" Dawn asked even more worried.
"That's Ramira, she has some weird out of body thing with a chair, we kind of learned to just ignore it," Miu jumped in.
"What? An out-of-body thing? Wait who is that...?" Dawn asked cluelessly.
"Ugh! Why do you talk so much?" Ruby said holding her head.
"What Ruby means is that Ramira is one of our teammates, she was sleeping when you came so you haven't met her," Israel clarified.
"Don't put words in my mouth, idiot." Ruby argued.
"Oh, but that still doesn't explain the out of body thing," she responded still confused.
"Dummy, she is having a nightmare duh," Ruby said.
'That's mean, how was I supposed to know 'Dawn defended herself in her head. "But wait, nightmares about a chair," Dawn questioned, still not understanding.
"We don't know either, but we learned to ignore it cause there's nothing we can do," Nanami said. Suddenly footsteps were coming their way.
"Speak of the devil," Miu said. A girl with purple hair, grey eyes, and dark brown skin walked through the doorway.
"What? Did I do something?" she said noticing all eyes on her. "Hmm... and you are?" she asked noticing Dawn.
"My name is Dawn Hamasaki... nice to meet you," she said.
"I see, Ramira, pleasure to meet you as well," she said as she bowed.
"You don't have to do that," Dawn said kind of uncomfortably.
"Oh, my apologies then," she says.
"Don't worry she's like that with everyone, something about 'respecting others,'" Celestial clarifies.
"Oh, I see," Dawn says looking back over at Ramira.
"Now that we're all awake, let us begin the assessment," Nanami says as they all look at her in confusion. "Oh, did I not tell you all, um... surprise!" she says. She then hurriedly walks outside before anyone could object. The others eventually follow her.
"Hm, wait you don't have a weapon do you Dawn," Nanami asked.
"No, I didn't have enough time since they were chasing after me," Dawn said remembering the moment all those accusing eyes turned to her making her shudder.
"I see," Nanami said pausing for a moment.
"Ugh, what weapon do you use," Ruby asked.
"Um, a sword," Dawn responded curiously.
"Dumbass, I mean how is it made, with what material, what internal and external style, the weight, etc." Ruby asked annoyed.
"Oh um, I'm not sure," she said.
"Ugh, come with me, you dunce," Ruby said walking off. Dawn stood there for a while hesitantly, until Nanami pushed her up a bit.
"Don't worry Ruby won't bite... to hard," Nanami tried to reassure her. Dawn deadpanned then walked in after her, Ruby led her to a room.
"Is this your room?" Dawn asked trying to make small talk.
"What do you think," she said opening the door. They walk in and all Dawn can see is weapons, armor, and a single picture with someone crossed out. Ruby then walks up to the weapons pointing at one of them.
"Grab it and see if you like it," she said. Dawn picks it up noticing how light it is.
"It's um, a bit light but I can make it work," Dawn said.
"No, if it's too light try this one," Ruby said. "We can't have a weapon messing up our assessment." Dawn then picks up another swinging it around.
"Not very flexible," Dawn said.
"I see, so you want something with a little weight, flexible, and easily transferable correct," Ruby asked.
"Yes, but if it had a little range that'll be nice too," Dawn responded without thinking.
"Alright, wait a few minutes and it'll be done," Ruby said.
"What," Dawn asked as she was pushed out of the room. When she walked back outside the others stared at her confused.
"Um, she said it'll take a few minutes but I'm not sure what she's doing," Dawn said.
"She's probably making you a weapon, she may not look like it, but Ruby is amazing at crafting," Israel said.
"Oh, wait she doesn't have to make me an entire weapon," Dawn said about to head back in.
"Don't bother, once she starts something she won't listen to what anyone has to say," Ramira said.
"Oh," as soon as she said that Ruby comes back out with a large sword. It is silver and blue with a weird line through the blade.
"Hmph. See if you like it and don't lie," Ruby said glaring at her. Dawn grabs the sword having to hold it with two hands, twirling it around a few times, she smiles and shakes her head.
"It's perfect! Thank you Rubes!!" Dawn said trying to hug her as Ruby blushed and turned her head.
"Whatever, I only made it so we wouldn't fail. And don't call me that!" she said defensively.
"Well, if we're all ready, Celeste, if you will," Nanami says before anyone can start bickering.
Suddenly they were in a whole new place with a dark, stormy tower.
"Where are we, Ms. Mazoku?" Ramira asks as if she already knew the answer.
"The place your assessment will be held, and please don't call me that," Nanami answers.
"Oh, I see, my apologies," Ramira says.
"Um, but where EXACTLY are we?" Dawn says still confused.
"The Reapers Tower, a tower owned by the 'leader' of the Reapers. It is known to have killed anyone who steps foot on the land, while..." Ramira starts to explain.
"Ok, ok, I think they get it Ramira," Nanami cuts her off.
"So, you want us to fight the 'leader'?" Ruby asks unimpressed.
"Yes, do you not think that this'll be a challenge," Nanami asks smirking slightly.
"No, I just don't have time for this," she responds as Dawn notices that she still has her pajamas on.
"Wait but I'm not even dressed," Dawn said embarrassed.
"Allow me to help," Celestial said. She then twirled her finger which turned a gold color and changed Dawn's clothes.
"Oh, thank you," Dawn said surprised.
"Oh, you two don't have to go since I already know how strong you are," Nanami said to Ciarra and Miu. "And we don't want a certain 'person' appearing," she continued under her breath.
"What was that Ms. Mazoku," Ramira asks hearing her.
"Uh... nothing and are you just going to keep calling me that," Nanami asked in return.
"Oh, my apologies it won't happen again," Ramira said as Ciarra gave Nanami a little side glance.
"Anyway, if you guys really need help, we'll come since I'll be able to see what happens," Nanami said trying to brush off Ciarra's glare.
"How will you see us?" Ruby was the first to ask.
"With my All-Seeing eye of course," Nanami said without thinking. The atmosphere suddenly got quiet and dark.
"Your what now?" Dawn asked thinking she heard wrong. There was a moment of silence until Nanami realized what she said.
"Well, it seems I have some explaining to do," Nanami said sweating. "But I don't feel like doing it now so how about if you all beat Enmu with no help I'll explain. Deal?" They all just stood there flabbergasted until Ruby spoke.
"What the hell?! Why would we accept such a deal? Why should we even trust you?!" she started before she was cut off.
"We'll accept your deal, but you better have a good explanation," Ramira said with a dead-like expression.
"Huh?!" the others spoke in unison.
"We'll be fine. He isn't the strongest Reaper, and I know his weakness," she said.
"Alright, if Ramira says it, it must be true," Celestial spoke as Israel nodded in agreement.
"For once I agree with Celestial," Ruby surprisingly agreed.
"Alright what's the plan," Dawn said going along. 'They've obviously known her for a longer time and if they trust her so much, I might as well go with it,' Dawn thought.
Ramira then went ahead not wanting the three adults to hear her plan. The others follow her as she explains her plan. When they step through the doors of the tower, they see absolutely nothing, it's pitch black.
"Can anyone see anything," Celestial said.
"Obviously not, Israel do the thing," Ruby demanded.
"Ok," Israel complied. He does something that makes him start to glow allowing everyone to see.
"So, your magic works like a nightlight," Dawn asked.
"Um... No? My magic allows me to replenish and steal others aura, it also just so happens to make me glow," Israel said dumbfounded.
"Don't worry I thought the same thing," Celestial said.
"That's because you're a ******* idiot," Ruby said to which Celestial pouted.
"Are those two always like that," Dawn asked no one in particular.
"Yes, but Ruby is like that with everyone, I think it might be an inferiority complex but I'm not one-hundred percent sure. Or maybe it's a superiority complex, well they're usually the same thing anyway," Ramira answered a little too honestly.
"You sure are honest," Dawn said not expecting a response.
"Of course, I was cursed to be so anyway," Ramira once again replied.
"WHAT?!" Dawn asked confused. This caused them to stop walking, causing everyone to stop.
"Why did you two stop?" Ruby asked now annoyed and flustered that she bumped into Ramira. She then recounts the entire conversation in exact detail.
"Oh, I see-" Celestial says before she gets cut off.
"Excuse me an inferiority what," Ruby asks as they arrive on the top floor.
"Oh, yea I did say that, but I made sure Dawn knew that it was not confirmed that you do," Ramira said apologizing.
"Oh well... I guess if you're the one who said it, I can forgive," Ruby said with her cheeks tinted pink.
'What the?' Dawn's thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the door.
"Huh, what in the?" Israel and Celestial shouted. On the other side of the door, a guy around 26 years old with brown hair, black eyes and a scar under his left eye, stood waiting for them.
"I'm guessing you're the newbies that Ex-Legion member sent to kill me," he said.
"Ex-Legion member? So, I am guessing that your Anuva or Enmei whichever form you are in," Ramira asked.
"Oh, so you know my real name. Must have done your research, am I right?" he asked walking over to them with a cocky smirk on his face.
"No. I just knew who you were, I wouldn't have wasted my time doing something like that," Ramira said. Dawn's jaw dropped as the others' sweat dropped, with Ruby facepalming. He made a surprised face before getting angry, he then went for the attack intending to "prove a point." They all moved out in different directions to put their plan into action.
Celestial aimed her gun at him shooting a special bullet to make Enmei dizzy.
Israel then uses his lightning magic to make his way to attack. Enmei seemed to notice him, covering himself in electricity. This causes them to bounce off each other.
Dawn seeing an opening used her water magic to cause a stream of water to attack him.
He then covered himself with water causing the attack to do absolutely nothing. Celestial then runs up attacking from the air, as Dawn came from behind covering her sword in a water coating. While Celestial shifts reality causing them to switch places successfully landing a hit and knocking him out of his water form.
Ramira takes out her spear twirling it a bit as she moved her feet in a way that resembled a ballet dance causing multiple branches and trees to come from the ground attacking Enmei. This made him use his fire form at the last-minute setting the trees ablaze. He then lands back on the ground.
"Good for some newbies but I was expecting a little more from you Ms. God of Freedom," he said to particularly no one.
"What the hell are you yapping about old man?" Ruby said.
"She knows who I'm talking to," he said.
"You're referring to 'her' am I correct?" Ramira said walking towards Enmei.
"Hm, you're extremely smart for a child, I would love to work your brain," he said.
"Wait, I'm confused about what's going on," Celestial asked dazed.
"Do you not know who the gods are? Geez how dumb are you," Ruby spoke.
"I know who they are, they're the ones who created the universe with the Universal Lord, I'm confused because you all are saying one of us is a god," Celestial clarified.
"My, my, they are really good at acting, the rest of you have no idea," Enmei says laughing as he runs toward Ramira attacking her with a fire blast.
Dawn jumps in front of Ramira using her magic to make a shield. When Enmei hits the shield, he gets pushed back. Ruby then jumps from behind him attacking with her sword, but when she sees him about to attack her, she stops allowing herself to get hit in the arm.
"It seems you fell for our trap," Ramira says to Enmei's confusion. A few minutes before they fought Enmei, Ramira produced a plan.
"We are going to use Celestial's magic to continuously confuse him. Israel, you stay on support, Dawn you focus on attack, I will stay on strategy and defense," Ramira said.
"And what about me," Ruby said.
"You are our trap card, as I am sure you all know Anuva has a Reaper named Enmei, which allows him to use all the elements. Without him, Anuva is completely powerless as he does not have magic himself and he is physically weaker than dead spider," Ramira explains. "So, his weakness would be something not affected by the elements, and the only people here with something like that are you, Celestial, and Israel. However, Celestial only affects the mind and Israel aura magic is only used for support and his lightning magic is an element," Ramira continues not realizing she offended Israel.
"So, you want me to use my magic when he's caught off guard," Ruby asked.
"Not exactly, I want you to do a sneak attack and when he attacks you allow yourself to be hit so he's flustered and then use your magic," Ramira states. "And if he doesn't respond in time for the sneak attack just hit him and reset the plan," she says before anyone can ask.
"What do you mean your trap," Enmei asks as Ruby touches the spot that was hit.
"Hmph, that ******* hurt bastard," Ruby said angrily. She then takes some of the blood and runs toward Enmei. As she gets close, she extends her hand that had the blood on it toward him.
"What are you doing," he asked confused. She grabs her blood putting it on him and snapping her fingers causing Enmei to be blown into pieces.
"What the heck?!" Dawn says not expecting that.
"Oh, did you not know what Ruby's magic was? Wish I was informed of that it could have messed up the plan, my apologies," Ramira said to the entire team.
"You don't need to apologize, the plan worked so it's fine," Ruby said walking up to Ramira.
"Well, how about we head out so we can get some answers from Nanami-sensei," Celestial said. The others quickly agree, and they head out of the tower. They were chatting so they were not able to hear the clacking of boots.
