Chapter 1 - "Forced Marriage!"

In 1971, at the Song family mansion, where the family was in crisis and almost bankrupt.

"Two more days you will marry the second son of the Tang family!" said Brent Song, Darlene Song father

"But father, I don't want to, I haven't been in a relationship with anyone else for two years, I don't even know him, I don't want to!" said Darlene Song don't accept it

Two days later at the wedding Darlene was forced to do it to help her family. She forced a happy smile on her face in front of her family.

The event had started. Darlene walked alone towards the wedding hall, and when the door opened she was shocked because there was no groom at the altar.

She was confused as she walked alone towards the altar and saw the people around her laughing and clapping their hands.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, let's give applause to our beautiful bride on this very meaningful day!" said a host while everyone is applauding

Darlene Song endured this shame and anger and then walked straight towards the altar.

After a while the event ended without a groom present, Darlene Song walked angrily towards the hotel room.

"How could the evil Tang family let me walk alone on the altar, without a groom, what a shameful thing they do!" said Darlene Song angrily walking in the hall

"If it weren't for bussiness and father, I wouldn't be doing this, tsk!" said Darlene Song arrived at her hotel room

When she entered the hotel room she saw a man drinking inside, and a woman sitting next to him.

"Who are y'all, why are you two in the bridal room?" Ask Darlene Song shocked standing in the door

"I should be the one asking who you are, why did you enter without permission, you know who he is?" said the woman who sat beside the guy

"What, you guys don't want to come out, I will call the security and drag you two out!" said Darlene Song with a serious looking to them

After that the woman left and closed the door, the man and Darlene Song were left in the room.

“I thought you might not know who I was, but it seems like you do now!" said the guy on the bed

"What are you talking about, don't act weird, I'll have a fruit knife at here!" said Darlene Song holding a fruit knife to protect herself

"You dare to kill your own husband, I think this is quite terrible, don't you think?" said Jay Tang getting up from the bed and walk towards her

"What, Jay???" said Darlene Song shocked and holding the fruit knife tightly

"Then good night, I still have business to finish with Jadeline!" said Jay Tang then left the room

Suddenly the room was silent and Darlene Song sat in the hotel dressing chair confused because she couldn't believe what had happened to her today.

"What actually happened, this all feels like a dream!" said Darlene Song looking at herself in the mirror in confusion

The next day, Darlene was fast asleep on her bed, when she woke up she was shocked. She saw Jay sitting on the sofa looking at her.

"How did you get here?" ask Darlene who just wake up from her sleep shocked

"Did you forget that a hotel room has 2 keys?" said Jay to her

"You better move quickly, or we'll miss breakfast with the family!" said Jay then continue to reading the documents

After that Darlene immediately got ready and after that she headed to the hotel cafeteria with Jay.

"Morning mother!" said Darlene greeting Xixi Ke from afar with a smile

"Her smile is so sweet, mom really chose the right person for Jay!" said Julia Chu to Xixi Ke, Jay sisters-in-law

"Where is Jay, is he not here?" ask Xixi Ke to Darlene, which is Jay mother

"I was right behind her, where dad and brother?" ask Jay suddenly to her mother

"It's a shame that both of them couldn't attend because there was a sudden meeting that was going to be held!" said Julia to Jay while sipping her coffee

Darlene's mind immediately went elsewhere, she thought, was the Tang family that busy, was their family company that big.

"Mother is so happy that we are finally going to move Darlene to our family subsidiary company, and she will be working with you!" said Xixi to Jay with a smile

Shocked, Darlene was silent, it turned out that the Tang family was no joke, they had a subsidiary.

"Why are you following me?" ask Darlene to Jay shocked a little

"Obviously, I have an acting talent, but how long exactly we need to pretend like this?" ask Darlene to Jay picking a bowl of spaghetti

"You must know that this is not a real relationship, this is just a business relationship, so why should I be close to you for real!" said Jay to Darlene

"I don't ask now when we will become close, but I just asked when we'll finish pretending?" ask Darlene serious looking at Jay

"Until we both get a divorce, don't worry, I've already set the time, just need to wait for it, see you then!" said Jay to Darlene

"Jay, how did you sleep last night, sorry, I just finished dressing up, let's go to the shopping center this afternoon!" said a woman from last night suddenly appears

After a few minutes they ate, Jay hadn't returned from the cafeteria at all, She continued eating as if nothing had happened.

"Darlene, you said he was getting food, why hasn't he come back yet?" ask Xixi to Darlene looking concern

"I think he might have something urgent to do, let's just eat, when he's finished, he will definitely came back!" said Darlene then continue to eat

After they all finished eating, Jay didn't even appear at all, even when Darlene had leaving the hotel room.

"I'll drive myself to the house I already got the address, see you!" said Darlene to Xixi and Julia with a forced smile then drove away
