ANDRESSA

After Bordini left the hotel, I started losing guests. Everyone was scared and whispering while Arturo argued with Francisca. I kept thinking about what I was going to do. I need to turn this situation around, but to do that, I have to get away and get my thoughts in order.

ANDRESSA - Now what are we going to do with Bordini on our tail? This man is dangerous, he’s influential here in Puebla.

ARTURO - Bordini isn’t our problem. You still don't get it, Vespa. Our biggest problem is Miguel Martinez, your little sister's husband! Compared to Martinez, Bordini is just a puppy. Your brother-in-law runs the whole damn show and rumor has it he’s a ruthless man who doesn’t forgive; a real killing machine. If your sister is doing her job, if you know what I mean, and asks him to wipe out all of Puebla, he’d do it with a snap of his fingers.

ANDRESSA - You're definitely exaggerating, Arturo. A man that powerful would never be interested in Marcele.

ARTURO - He might not be interested in Marcele, but he's definitely interested in the Northern Territory. Hasn’t it crossed your mind that Miguel Martinez kidnapped and married Marcele to take the Northern Territory and become the sole ruler of all territories?

ANDRESSA - That's right, Arturo. He must have had an informant among Bordini's men and found out about the marriage and the territory. I knew that idiot couldn't win over a man like that, it was all a matter of convenience for him. So, he's going to dump Marcele when he gets hold of the North Territory, it's just a matter of time.

ARTURO - Or not. He may have married her out of interest in the territory, but your sister is a very beautiful and attractive woman. She could seduce him, make him fall in love, and then she'll get her revenge.

FRANCISCA - You got us into this mess, so now you figure out how to get us out.

I started to think about what I was going to do. We're going to have to hide somewhere unexpected, someplace Marcele doesn’t know about. Well, she doesn't know anything anyway, she's always been spoiled, never interested in working for anything, she always had her daddy and me to hand everything to her on a silver platter.

ANDRESSA - Arturo, does your family still have that house in the woods, by the lake?

ARTURO - Yes, in fact, I have the key.

ANDRESSA - Great, let's go there.

ARTURO - Seriously? You want to go into the middle of the woods? As far as I know, the Queen Bee has never liked that kind of adventure.

ANDRESSA - It's not about liking it or not, it's about survival now. We need to hide for a while, lay low until we decide what to do.

Francisca packed our things and we went in my car to a certain part of the highway. There, we called a taxi that left us at a strategic point in the Guanajuato forest. We walked another trail; we walked for several miles. Francisca wouldn't stop complaining, it's already getting on my nerves.

ANDRESSA - Can you shut your damn mouth and walk? We need to get home so we can rest, I'm tired too, hell.

She just glared at me but didn't say anything, at least she shut up. We walked for almost three hours until we reached a simple wooden house.

We had to bring groceries, because there is nothing around here. We would have to go to the nearest village, which is miles from here. This is risky, I don't know if anyone is after me, but I'm not going to give them the pleasure of giving up without a fight.

I won all that with my effort and intelligence by getting rid of Joseph and I won't let Marcele destroy that. That bitch is going to pay me dearly, she may be under Martinez's protection today but one day we'll meet and she'll pay for every nail I just broke, and for the hatred she’s making me feel.

While she’s in a comfortable mansion, protected by an army of men, I'm here in the middle of nowhere getting mosquito bites.

I even had to leave my baby behind with Marcele. You won't lose by waiting, because when I get my hands on you, you're going to suffer my full wrath, you wretch. You were supposed to be the one who got a raw deal by marrying Bordini. We all know he likes to beat women and force them to have sex with him. You weren't supposed to marry Martinez! On top of being powerful, he’s handsome. Damn you, a thousand times damned!

I put Arturo and Francisca to clean everything up. Francisca started complaining again. I’m about to beat this woman.

There’s only one double bed and the three of us will have to share it since they refuse to sleep on the floor.

We had to heat water on the stove to take a bath since the lake water is too cold.

ARTURO - On a cold night in the middle of nowhere, how about we play a game? The three of us.

ANDRESSA - A threesome?

ARTURO - That’s right.

ANDRESSA - Never. I don't know how to share anything, so put out that fire.

Francisca laughed at his face. She's in love with this deadbeat, only he hasn't noticed it yet, or he's noticed and is playing dumb.

While they were making soup, the two of them were chatting away and I was left with my imagination of how I'm going to get out of this situation.

I can’t stay here for long, isolated from the world. I have my life, my things, everything I fought to achieve, I’m seeing it slip through my fingers, but I won’t let this go too far. I’ll come up with an idea soon and get myself out of this. I always get what I want.

We had soup and went to bed, Francisca in the middle. I couldn’t sleep a wink, Arturo snored all night.

It’s Marcele’s fault. I hate her!
