How...?

Mothers body was more elongated and less scrawny than the girl’s. The next part though… absolutely destroyed me. Since the blonde girl was free from the restraints, she tried to run from everyone but Mother… she uh… There’s no easy way to explain this but uh… Mother stabbed one of her hands right through the girl’s neck and her other through the girl’s stomach, immediately killing her. Blood was spread all around the room.

“Now I know where all the blood stains came from…” I whispered to myself.

The screams of the girl before she died will forever echo in my mind as I was the one trying to give her false hope that she would survive. Once it was obvious the girl was dead, Mother ate her whole, transforming her into a more monstrous figure, but in an instant, she turned back into her original self. I remembered the black haired girl and Sara watching underneath the table. I quickly turned around and saw their horrified faces and turned back to face Mother and the scientists, and to my horror, it seemed like they were staring directly at me. I took a deep breath in and reassured myself that they can’t see me. That is until I heard one of the scientists speak to me.

“Who are you…? I know for a fact that you don’t work with us… How did you even get into this facility…?”

He sounded worried, and I was getting scared since I didn’t know how I became visible. I noticed that Mother was looking down towards the desk behind me, and that’s when I remembered about the 2 girls. I quickly turned around in worry, looking directly at the girls, making sure they were ok. Once I made eye contact with the black haired girl, a strong force made the 2 of them, along with the desk, get pushed towards the entrance door. I watched as the 2 girls crawled out of the room. When I turned back around to face the 3 adults, Mother charged at me with her distorted hand, and when I stumbled back and fell. A light gray cloud surrounded me, and by the reaction on all their faces, it was clear I was no longer visible. I took advantage of this and ran out of the room. I went to go look for the 2 girls immediately after. When I found them, I tried to make sure they were uninjured from the forceful push. I tried to figure out how to make myself visible like I did in the lab, but I couldn't figure it out.

"Who was that..?" asked Sara.

"I don't know, but when they turned around and looked at me.. it seemed like they were trying to protect us from them. The force we felt might have been from them." Replied the girl.

I'm risking my life for these kids. Should I really help them?
