Chapter 9

"Kane are you dating Akito," Ezra asked suddenly. Kane started to choke on his drink. "Hey, man you alright? Don't die on us," Atlas said. "I'm alright your question just surprised me. Why are you asking me that," Kane replied? "You've been hanging out with him every day," Ezra stated. "Yea, we hardly see you now. Honestly surprised you're here now," Atlas added. "He took Axel to get a few things. I have to get ready for work soon so I didn't go," Kane said getting up. He went upstairs and then came back downstairs in his work uniform. "Hey Kane wait up," Atlas said running over to him. "What you need Atlas," Kane asked putting his phone away. "Here take this," Atlas said handing him a paper. "What's this," Kane asked. "Ezra said we needed those but he wouldn't tell me why. He just said to hand it to you before you left," Atlas said. "Ah alrighty. Well, I'm gonna go now see you later," Kane said then left.

"Akito," Axel said. "Yea," Akito answered. "Isn't that Bones there," Axel asked. "Yes it is," Akito said pulling out his phone. "Boss this is unexpected," Bones said picking up the phone. "What you doin' right now," Akito asked. "Not a lot sir. Did you need something," Bones replied. "Meet me at the hideout we need to talk about Riot," Akito said then hung up. They drove to an abandoned house in the woods. Axel followed Akito inside and over to a table. "Put these on," Akito said handing him a mask and bandana. Axel took them and put them on. Afterwards, he pulled his hood up. "Uh do I need to call you boss," Axel asked. "No just don't use my real name. Most of them call me Snake," Akito answered. "Let me see the map again," Axel asked. "Yea here," Akito said handing him the map. Axel spread it out on the table. While they were talking Fuyuki and Hymir walked in. "Whose the new kid," Hymir asked. Akito looked over at Axel and then back at the map. "Snake who's the kid," Fuyuki asked. Bones walked in followed by others. "Boss did you get a new guy," Bones asked. "Snake," Fuyuki said. Snake sighed and then looked up at the others. "He's with me. He's gonna help us save Riot," Snake replied. "Boss I don't understand. You never bring anyone in let alone a kid," Bones said. "Snake what's goin' on," Fuyuki asked. "Sir are we gonna be able to save him," Hymir asked. "We can surely try," Axel said. "What do you mean surely try? You wouldn't know anything you just joined," Bones shouted walkin' closer. Axel stepped back and Akito (Snake) pulled out a gun and sat it on the table. "That's enough Bones," Snake said coldly, "watch yourself if you know what's good for you." Fuyuki and Hymir grabbed Bones and pulled him back. "Don't be stupid Bones," Hymir said. "Leave all of you," Snake shouted. "Sir you called us here," Fuyuki said. "Im aware. We will speak in a few minutes," Snake said. Bones and the others left the room and Akito turned to Axel. "You alright," Akito asked. "Uh yea," Axel said trembling a little. "He won't hurt you. He's just angry and worried about Riot. He didn't mean anything," Akito said walking over to Axel. Axel looked down at the ground as Akito approached him. "What's on your mind kid," Akito asked. Axel looked up at him but said nothing, just stared blankly at him. He began to tremble uncontrollably. "Axel it's gonna be alright," Akito said. He took Axel to the couch and had him sit down. "Take your mask off for now. I'll make sure that none of them enter," Akito said before walking out the door. Axel removed his mask and placed it beside him. Akito entered the room quickly shutting the door behind him. Axel stood up alarmed. "Everything alright," Axel said. "Yea just wait in here keep the mask on in case someone manages to get in. There's another gun in the desk if you need to use then use it," Akito said grabbing a knife and his gun. "Wait what's going on," Axel asked. "The SlitThroats are here. If they come in here and ask your name don't give them your real name. Tell them your name is Ninja. I will be back so no need to worry," Akito said then left. Axel heard gunshots followed by shouting. He went over and grabbed the gun that Akito had told him about as well as the map off the table.

"Snake where you headed," Fuyuki shouted. "I gotta get the kid. You guys get the hell out of here," Snake shouted. "Boss," Bones shouted. "Go now," Snake shouted. Snake ran back to the room where Axel was. He busted down the door and saw three SlitThroats members in the room. One was bleeding out on the floor. Another lay dead on the couch and the third leaned against the wall unconscious. Axel walked out from the shadows and over to Snake. "You hurt," Akito asked. "No I uh think I killed them," Axel replied. Akito walked over to each one of them then went back to Axel. "The ones dead for sure. The second is bleeding out. The third is just unconscious but we need to go. The police will be here soon," Akito said. "Uh right lead the way," Axel said. They left the house quickly and got into Akito's car. Once there Axel calmed down a bit before looking over at Akito. "This is what you do," Axel said. "Yes now you know why I didn't tell anyone about it," Akito said. "They do call you Snake," Axel said. "Yea and right now they know you as Ninja and I think it suits you," Akito stated. Axel removed his mask and looked back over at Akito who was now driving. "Akito you're bleeding a lot," Axel said worriedly. "I must have got hit," Akito replied calmly. "Maybe we should go to the hospital," Axel said. "No can do. I'm in the Mafia, Axel. They will call the police cause of the type of wound it is. Once they find out I'm the Mafia let alone the leader of The Snakes I will be arrested," Akito said. "You can't go back to Kane like that though. Won't the others find out," Axel asked. "I have a place I go to when I'm injured. But I don't think they'll be all that happy to see me," Akito replied. "Are you talking about your brothers," Axel asked. "Yea they live not far from here," Akito replied. "Your bleeding a lot. I can drive if you need me to," Axel stated. "No worries kid the house is right up this hill," Akito stated.

"Tokoyami," Arlo shouted running into the room. "Arlo what the hell," Tokoyami said angrily. "I'm sorry but Akito's here and he's bleeding badly," Arlo said. "He always comes here bleeding," Tokoyami said getting out of bed. "No it's worse than before. A kid brought him here. He's unconscious and still bleeding," Arlo said. "Why didn't you start with that," Tokoyami said. He followed Arlo out of the room and into the living room. "Oh thank god Tokoyami. I can't get the bleeding to stop," Veronica said worriedly. "Hey kid he wasn't driving like this was he," Tokoyami asked. "I made him switch places with me," Axel replied. "When did he lose consciousness," Tokoyami asked. "Not long after I got into the driver's seat," Axel replied. "What happened," Arlo asked. "He's in the mafia take a guess Arlo," Tokoyami said. "He's still bleeding to death here guys," Veronica said. Kimberly came downstairs and into the room. "I have the medical bag," Kimberly said rushing over. She handed it to Tokoyami who immediately got to work. He handed a pair of gloves to Kimberly so she could assist him. Arlo and Veronica went upstairs and made sure his room was ready. They put painkillers and other necessary things near his bed. When they came back downstairs Arlo helped Tokoyami and Kimberly. "Hey kid what's your name," Veronica asked. "It's Axel," Axel replied. "You're young how do you know Akito," Veronica asked. "He helped me get away from some bad people," Axel replied. "You know you kinda look like his friend Kane," Veronica stated. "He's my older brother," Axel replied. "Seriously I didn't even know he had a brother," Veronica said surprised. "Yea that's been everyone's reaction," Axel said. "That bandana. Are you in the mafia," Veronica asked. "Not really Akito gave it to me earlier to keep me safe," Axel replied. "You were with him when he got injured," Tokoyami said suddenly. "No, not really I was just in the general area. He left me in a room while he went to fight off the Slitthroats," Axel stated.
