Chapter 1⁴

 “Hyung, today nothing good really happened and there was nothing too special happening right now in the story I’m reading.” . I say looking at my brother with disappointed eyes, thinking about what happened to me today. “But hyung told me to tell everything which happens to me…so I’ll tell you” I look down and gather up the courage to tell him everything. “My friends didn’t really help me out when I got into trouble today but I’m the one who lied and I don’t want Yu-jun to get into trouble so I got a little detention by Professor Jin, but he was really sweet!” I once again look down thinking about what happened in the storeroom and at home. “Um hyung, I went to the storeroom again, the one I told you about where my friends hang, and they fed me some beer…Even though I hate it but they only did that because I went and bought it for them, but I ran away…” I look at my brother in embarrassment. “And…dad came back” I hesitate to say what happened to me because I know brother loved our dad, but I muster up the confidence and tell him. “He…he slapped me and called me names…but it’s all fine now, I knocked dad out because he was drunk and now he’s resting.” I start to cry hearing how pathetic I sound, I thought my brother must think I’m very weak and useless, so I thought to end todays visit early .“I’m sorry hyung I must have disturbed your sleep with my pathetic talk…but I’m sure I’ll bring hyung’s smile back!” I look at my brother’s emotionless face and wipe my tears and leave. “Oh Eun-woo, your leaving quite early is everything fine?” Nurse Min stops me with a concerned but cold look. “Everything’s fine nurse Min, my brother’s doing well!” I say with a fake smile trying to control my tears. “I’m glad to hear your brother’s fine but why’re you leaving so early, usually I have to drag you out of the hospital because of your never ending stories…” Nurse Min says with his eyebrow raised and with a confused tone. I say “Oh, it’s just today’s not my day…I thought I could hit the hay early tonight…”. “Oh alright hope to see you tomorrow then…good night” he says in a disheartened tone. I feel so broken I left the hospital without saying goodbye because I had enough of how disappointing I was. I took the last bus and reached my house, I felt a little hesitant to open the door thinking of what happened last time I came. Finally I calmed down and opened the door, there I see dad still sleeping soundly on the couch. I let a sigh of relief and went up to my room and didn’t bother eating dinner and I slept as soon as I hit the bed.
