Episode 15

NARRATOR

After going out with his brother and sister-in-law, Victor introduced Detective Rivas, and they waited for the woman who would give her statement. When Victor saw her coming down, he couldn't believe that such a beautiful woman had endured everything his brother and sister-in-law had told him. He wanted to see the bastard who hurt her dead.

They left, leaving her alone with the detective and the psychologist for her statement. Sol, who was in Irina's arms, passed into Victor's arms while they waited for his mother to finish her statement. Both the mother and daughter stole Victor's heart. At that moment, he didn't know it, but from that moment on, he would not only be enslaved by one woman but two. Both the mother and daughter could do whatever they wanted with him, and he wouldn't object.

In the office, Detective Rivas started the interrogation with the help of the psychologist. Both men kept their distance from the woman out of respect for her traumas. They didn't want her to feel uncomfortable, so a female officer accompanied them in the interrogation and she was the one who spoke with Celeste.

"Well, Celeste, tell us everything from the beginning," the officer asked.

"I was in my medical internship, specializing in pediatrics. One day, in the parking lot, a man was about to be run over, but I moved him out of the way to avoid it. He wanted to thank me, and since he insisted so much, I had a coffee with him. I thought I wouldn't see him again; I didn't even give him my address or any way to contact me. I didn't like him; I just helped him like I would help anyone else. Then, he started sending roses to the hospital for me. It seemed strange, but I didn't pay much attention. My parents' death was still fresh, and I couldn't handle anything else. After rejecting many roses, he showed up at the hospital and told everyone I was his fiancée, which wasn't true. I never kissed him or held his hand. We only saw each other that night I saved him. The security staff helped me several times and escorted me to my car because I was afraid of that man. One day, I arrived home and there was no electricity. I was surprised because the rest of the neighborhood had it, but as I searched for my phone to call the electric company, I felt a blow to the head, and I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I was in a bed, naked, with that man on top of me, equally naked. Every time he hurt me, he said he loved me and did it for my own good, to take care of me, but it wasn't true. I didn't know him, and he locked me up for a year. I gave birth to a daughter alone in a room because he never let me out again until today when he came home drunk and hit me. I took the opportunity and hit him hard on the head. I checked; he was still alive, unfortunately. I took the keys and the baby and locked him up. I tied him to the bed and got out of there. I ran for hours, maybe four or five hours of running. I don't remember well," Celeste said with tears in her eyes.

"What's the man's name?" the officer asked.

"I don't know his last name; I just know his name is Leo or Leonardo, I'm not sure, he never told me," Celeste replied.

"We'll look into that. You tell us in which direction you were running, and we will find the place. Meanwhile, the office and Victor will help you formalize the complaint and take you to a safe place," the detective assured her.

"Well, thank you," Celeste showed them the way she had come out, and they would focus on finding the place.

Victor came down with the sleeping baby in his arms, and Celeste tried to take her, but Victor told her it was no bother to carry her. A driver took them, Celeste said goodbye to Irina and Dmitry, thanked them for their help, and left in a car with Victor, her daughter, and the officer. A chauffeur drove, and a patrol car followed them in case anything happened.

The psychologist recommended a specialist for Celeste once she arrived in the city. Victor called to schedule an appointment for her and found an apartment where she and the baby would stay with extra security in case they couldn't find the man who hurt her.

"Now Irina rests and relaxes, everything is fine. Tomorrow we will have the session, and I hope it will be the last so you can see everything clearly." The psychologist said when everyone had already left.

"We all want it to be the last one." Dmitry, taking his wife's hand.

The rest of the afternoon, Irina spent it peacefully in the garden, in the company of the three on the terrace, and watched movies with Dmitry. Later, she fell asleep embraced by her husband's chest. The next morning, she felt calm despite the session that would take place after breakfast. She was more willing to confront the memories of the past and move forward with her future.

"Ready?" The psychologist asks her while she is comfortably reclined on the sofa, relaxed, and she nods.

"Well, close your eyes and listen to the beats of the metronome." When Irina relaxed and entered a more relaxed state of consciousness, the psychologist began to delve into her memories.

"Alright, Irina, what happened in your mother's room on your birthday night?" the psychologist asked.

"She hid me under the bed and told me not to speak, not to make any noise, and to never tell anyone because they could hurt me," Irina responded.

"And did you? You haven't spoken since then," the psychologist asked.

"Yes, I obeyed. I didn't say anything, I never told anyone anything," Irina nervously replied.

"But you must speak. Your mother didn't want you to make noise at that moment so you wouldn't be discovered. She didn't want you to remain silent for the rest of your life. Do you understand now?" the psychologist asked.

"Yes, I understand," Irina responded.

"And what happened next?" the psychologist asked.

"The door to the room opened. I saw two people enter. I didn't see their faces, but their voices are familiar to me," Irina answered.

"Tell me, Irina, whose voices are those?" the psychologist asked.

"It's them. They killed her," Irina cried.

"Who, Irina?" the doctor insisted. She went into a crisis and started crying and losing control.

"It was them. They killed her," Irina said through tears. The doctor quickly woke her up, but she kept repeating the same thing.

"It was them. They killed her," she cried and repeated desperately in Dmitry's arms, who comforted her.
