NARRATOR

While Dmitry's mother and grandmother were in the living room talking with Irina, in the study, Dmitry's father and grandfather were reproaching him for not doing things properly.

"Son, your condition of being in a wheelchair should not be an impediment to having a religious wedding. You must marry in the church and have a dignified wedding for your wife," Dmitry's father said.

"Indeed, boy, and I won't accept a no," Dmitry's grandfather added.

"I know, and I have been planning it, but as my brothers probably told you, Irina will undergo hypnosis to speak again. I want to wait until that happens so she can tell me if she accepts with all her heart," Dmitry defended himself.

"That sounds good to me, son. In our family, we treat women like queens, so the least Irina deserves is a wedding fit for a queen, especially now that she is expecting my first grandchild," Dmitry's father said.

But what they don't know is that he wasn't only waiting for Irina to speak before getting married. He has been visiting a doctor to explore the possibility of surgery and being able to stand up. It's a surgery his parents never wanted due to the risk of losing their son, but now the chances of survival are greater as medicine has advanced, and there are more specialized doctors. That's why he wants to take the risk of walking again and not be an ill husband anymore, able to walk out of the church alongside his wife.

They discussed many things in the study, about workers and Irina's wishes for their future together and their future children, as he wants many of them and hopes Irina does too. After talking, they returned to the women, happy. Now that the brothers had returned, the atmosphere was too calm and familiar. Irina couldn't stop smiling; she looked radiant. After eating, everyone went to rest in their rooms, including Irina and Dmitry.

"What do you think about the names your brothers, parents, and grandparents suggested?" Dmitry asked, embracing her on the bed.

"They're horrendous," Irina honestly replied with her phone.

"Hahaha, yes, they are. And what name would you like?" Dmitry asked.

"I like your name," Irina responded.

"I'm not so fond of it; I want us to find a beautiful name for him," Dmitry said.

"But your name is beautiful, and I like it," Irina expressed through her phone, pouting.

"Hahaha, you know that with those pouts, you can make me do anything," Dmitry said. Irina nodded with a smile, and he kissed her.

"Then don't complain later if I don't let you leave this room." They spent the afternoon entwined in their bed, enjoying each other's company.

"Are you nervous about tomorrow?" Dmitry asked, recalling that Irina would have her hypnosis session. She searched for her phone and replied.

"A little, although I'm mostly anxious. I want to know if I can speak again," Irina typed on her phone.

"You'll see that you'll succeed. Now rest a bit, and I'll request to have dinner brought to the room," Dmitry said, kissing her forehead.

They rested for a while, and later Martha brought dinner to their room while the rest dined and joked in the dining room.

"My son is truly in love. How else can you explain him allowing Irina to change everything in the mansion without opposing her?" Dmitry's mother, Darya, said.

"That's right, Mom. It's evident from miles away. He'll do anything to ensure she is well and at peace. She can do whatever she wants with my brother," Victor expressed.

"If that's the case even now when she can't speak, how will it be when she can speak again? Dmitry will be her slave," Vladimir said.

"I will see all of you just as Dmitry or even worse, being slaves to your wives," the grandfather stated.

"That won't happen," the four brothers affirmed.

"That's what you think, but I will see you all crawling before your wives," the grandfather said.

Everyone laughed at what their family members said, but they didn't know what destiny had prepared for them. Perhaps soon four women will enter their lives, dominating them and making them their slaves.

After dinner, the siblings went out to the garden for a drink while recounting anecdotes from their childhood and the pranks they played on their parents. Everyone was excited about the imminent arrival of the new family member. They had plans to spoil and assist them in pulling off pranks without their parents punishing them. They would be their greatest accomplices and adventure buddies. As they were plotting their nephew's mischief, Irina, on the other hand, couldn't sleep. She lay in her husband's arms without moving, but her eyes were wide open. She felt nervous because the next day she could remember the details of her mother's death, something she has kept hidden in her memory for so many years, and she feared what could be concealed within her memory.

Because if her mind erased it, it must have been for a reason. Her mind protects her from pain, so if it erased that part of her life, she shouldn't avoid remembering it. But she no longer had a choice; she had made the decision to confront her past, and there was no turning back.
