Chapter 18

During the night the General decides to interrogate Judy:

- Goodnight! Soldier\, it looks like you've been bitten\, not once\, twice\, but how come you haven't completely transformed yet? How can you still be conscious?

'It's no use, I won't say.

— Soldier, if you somehow discovered someone, or something that can serve as a vaccine, you'll need more, because apparently it wasn't enough, so if you tell me, maybe we can help prevent the mutation, because one day you'll transform , it will be slower, and more painful, as the virus is just delayed in your body.

“I don't know what you're talking about.

— Time soldier, if you turn to our side, and give us your accomplices, and the future cure we can save humanity, you don't want that.

“I know you're lying.

- Why would I lie? More than anyone I want to find the cure.

— It's no use, it's better to kill me, because I won't say anything, and if I change, as soon as I have an opportunity, I'll kill you myself.

— Hours soldier, are you threatening me? You really think you're in a position to threaten me? I can find out, in other ways, it's simple, I'll examine all of your squadron, I know the cure is among them, and those who don't fit, I'll exterminate one by one.

— I already said that I don't know anything, as soon as I was bitten, I handcuffed myself.

The general signals to a soldier, who leaves and returns with a man, shabbily dressed:

— Oh! So really you know something, you're going to spill the beans, or I have to seal you up forever. says the general, pointing a gun at Judy's head.

— You gave yourself away soldier, when you are surprised, don't lie to me, don't force me to exterminate your entire squadron, give me, your accomplices, and the cure.

— General, if you really want the cure, you can't kill me, because you thought that if, instead of transforming me, you managed to cure me, I could develop the vaccine, through my blood, and that of this man.

— Soldier, you told me what I wanted, so it really is possible to develop the vaccine through the blood of an ex-infected person, we don't need you anymore, it's too risky to keep you alive.

He shoots Judy in the head:

“Clean up this soldier mess.

He takes the ragged man, who was confused and scared, by the arm and hands him to another soldier, issuing the following order:

“Take this man to the elite, and tell him this man, if he has the possible cure in his blood, they'll know what to do.

- Yes sir. says the soldier\, picking up and taking the man with him.

The general thinks to himself:

— It is not possible that Captain Levi does not know anything, I will interrogate him.

He goes to Levi's cell with two guards, and finds him lying on the cell bed:

- Goodnight! Captain\, are you comfortable?

“I've never been so comfortable,” Levi replies sarcastically.

"Okay, but now we're going to talk." — says the General, who did not expect another answer, from Levi, he knew him for his heroic acts before the zombie pandemic, he wanted to demoralize him, because the skyscraper soldiers were too loyal to that Captain, and he was afraid of one day try to overthrow him by mutiny against him.

The general signals to the guards, who open Levi's cell and take him to the torture room, to be interrogated, they tie his legs and arms so he can't react, then the executioner tears his uniform and throws a bucket of water:

"Did you bring me here to give me a bath?" Great, I really needed it. _ says Levi in a mocking way.

— Captain hours, I know how resistant you can be, but we will see how long your resistance will last.

"General, is this really necessary?" asks one of the soldiers accompanying him.

— Time shut up — says the general, punching the soldier in the stomach, he falls to his knees in pain.

“General, if you carry on like this, you'll turn your men against you. says Levi, smiling.

"We'll see how long you keep that smile." - he signals to the executioner who gives a stick, on Levi's back.

Levi moans in pain, but manages to say:

“You brought me here for a bath and massage.

— Hours, I'm glad you're enjoying it. - the general makes another sign and the executioner gives another blow on Levi's back.

Who moans again, but does not remove the cold gaze:

— Let's see how long you can last Levi, because even the bravest soldier has his limit, as well as your little friend Judy, so go tell me who your accomplices are.

"I don't know what you're talking about, sir."

The executioner gives, another blow on the back:

— Captain Levi, I know you're tough, I swear that seeing this doesn't give me any pleasure… — says the General, delighting in the pain he was causing in Levi.

— I know you're having fun General, but I don't know anything… It's no use.

The general then gets nervous and punches Levi, leaving him with a black eye and a cut on his eyebrow due to the ring the general wore on his hand, then of course the general sees that he had hurt his own hand too, because he wasn't used to losing his temper and punching someone in the face like that, but he wanted to get rid of that expression on Levi's face. Levi's back that bears bravely:

— And so Levi, are you going to keep resisting, tell me where the cure for this virus is?

"Is there a general cure?" Levi says, looking surprised.

The general makes a sign, Levi gets another shock in the back:

“Of course there is, and you're hiding me.

— General you're crazy, I don't know anything — says Levi coldly.

The executioner gives another shock, and Levi resists:

“I've got all night, but I think the Beta must be enjoying his little friend, I hope she can handle it. says the general, teasing Levi.

Levi reacts:

— Time, you… I'm going to kill you when I get out of here.

The Executioner shocks Levi again:

"Captain Levi, if I say what I want, you can go with your... Wait?" You're interested, even in that survivor... I can see it in your eyes. - says the general holding Levi's face and smiling sarcastically, when he sees Levi's eyes enraged, the general signals to the soldier. — Radio Captain Beta, and ask him to bring the girl he's with, we'll make Captain Levi talk, who knows if instead of hurting him, I hurt his little friend.

“Wait, I'll tell you what you want, but don't hurt her. says Levi suddenly, looking like he's given up.

"Great, we've found your Achilles' heel, open your mouth then."

“I, I am the cure.

- What?!

“Yes, I'm the cure.

“Don't be an idiot, you can't be the cure.

"Are you sure you didn't notice my arm, when you ripped my shirt, I've got a zombie bite on it, and it's been a few days, do you see any signs of change?"

The general notices Levi's arm, and it really had a bite scar, the general is stunned.

— Great, but I don't want you, I need to know where the source of the cure is, because I know it's the time traveler.

- Time TRAVELLER? I don't know what you're talking about\, you're crazy.
