CHAPTER 3

Luna wakes up and finds herself on a beach, and beside her she finds the steel box with her name engraved on it:

—Mike ! Your Cretin. — he shouts, getting up and taking the box — come on I'm not kidding, where are we?

She sees someone walking along the beach:

"Hey you, where are we?" Luna yells.

The person turns and they come running towards him, when he realizes that the person was all deformed, he looked like a living dead person, and did not respond to him, he runs away, but when going up a staircase he ends up tripping on one of the steps and falls, and that being ends up reaching her and jumping on her calf biting her immediately, she screams in pain and asks that being to stop, but when she sees that he doesn't stop, and that if he doesn't, he would be eaten alive, he looks for something to defend himself with, and luckily manages to find a gun nearby, what's left of a policeman's body, she takes it and shoots twice at that being who couldn't say exactly what it was, the monster falls dead:

"What was that?" — he asks himself — I better get out of here and look for a safe place, before another monster like that appears, and look for something to fix that wound. - he says looking at the wound he had on his leg.

She takes her steel box, gets up and limps behind a safe place to shelter, until she can understand what was happening, she doesn't believe she had traveled in time, and she doesn't remember anything that happened, the last memory is something about his friend yelling to leave a mark in the past, that's all. So he walks around for about three hours, aimlessly trying to recognize where he was, the landscape was apocalyptic with abandoned cars, crashed, overturned everywhere, and plants many plants everywhere, and buildings that looked like they were years old that they didn't see any cleaning, apart from a broken window here and there, with no sign of a living soul in the street, she was already getting tired, when suddenly she sees another group of those beings that she didn't even know what they were, in the distance, they looked like walking corpses, and sees a man flying with a flying backpack, at least that's what it looked like, the second he passed her towards those strange beings, it seems he had looked her in the eyes, as if he knew her, that man goes towards the group of creatures and kills them with a single accurate blow to the heads, while the bodies of the creatures fall limp to the ground. She hears someone shouting:

“Careful, girl, behind you…

Too late, she didn't even have time to turn around and feel something, jumping on her back and knocking her to the ground, and a bite right on her left shoulder, but soon after she feels something warm running down her back, then she realizes that the creature had been killed, as she turned to take the creature's body off her, she saw a young man with a sword in his hands pointing in her direction, and he said:

- Sorry miss\, but I will have to kill you\, you were bitten. — then the young man raises his sword\, to decapitate her.

When Luna closes her eyes and thinks that everything is lost, that she would die without knowing where she ended up, someone grabs the young man's arm and says in a deep voice:

“Wait, soldier.

“But Captain Levi…” replies the young man.

It was the man who had passed her and looked her in the eyes:

“Look at this girl, she has another bite on her ankle and the blood is already dry.

"What do you mean Captain?"

“That we might have found someone immune to zombies.

— He's right, because of the coagulation it's been around two to three hours since she was bitten — says a red-haired girl, with a curious look, wearing a pair of glasses, this girl takes a flashlight out of her pocket and approaches Luna to see the pupil of the eyes— by all indications it will not transform, because by the time of the bite, it should already show some sign of transformation.

Luna was more and more confused and asked herself:

“Who were those people? Where were you? And what story was that? Zombies he had only seen in books, movies, series… He never imagined they really existed.”

When it is taken out of your thoughts:

“Come on, get up. says Captain Levi seriously, holding out his hand.

She looks confused at that man, but takes Levi's hand, and he helps her to stand up, while asking:

“Luna. she says confused.

— Well my name is Levi, I'm the captain of this squadron, and these two are my squadmates Judy and Ale, it's a pleasure to meet you. says Captain Levi coldly.

"Captain, what do we do with her?" asks Judy.

“Neither of you will say anything we've seen here, nor will we put it in the reports, that's an order. says Captain Levi coldly but firmly.

— Yes, captain — they both reply in unison.

“Judy, when we get to the skyscraper, you're going to wait a couple of hours and come over to my apartment and take some blood samples from her so you can analyze them and try to figure out why she was bitten and didn't change, and if it really is immune, how can we use it to create a vaccine, to immunize ourselves, and if it is possible to create a cure. Ale you will be in charge of her safety in the skyscraper.

"Yes, sir, but sir, why can't we pass this on to our superiors?" says Al.

“Because if they find out you're immune, there are people who might want to drain you to death, and I don't want them to kill the only hope humanity may have. says Captain Levi coldly.

— But sir, what do I do if I turn into a zombie? - says Ale worried.

“You kill her so she doesn't feel pain, but don't worry, you'll only take care of her when we arrive, as I'll take care of her personally, now call the rest of the squadron and meet me at the usual spot in 10 minutes.

“Miss Luna, come with me. - he says looking at her coldly taking her by the wrist, turns his back and walks away.

Luna follows him, they walk until they reach a pharmacy, they go to the alley that existed on the side of the pharmacy:

— Stay here, don't move or make any noise, because the zombies are sensitive to the slightest noise, and this is an area infested with them and we don't want to be surrounded, if you don't make any noise, you'll be safe. he whispers.

Luna stands still, she was still confused by all that, but she thought:

“While I don't know what's going on, it's better to obey.”

Captain Levi returns a few minutes later, covered in blood, Luna starts to scream, but he immediately covers her mouth with one of his hands, and whispers to her, coldly:

"Shhhh... what did you say?" Silence, this blood is not mine, let's go to a safe place, hold on to me.

She holds onto Levi's strong body tightly, Captain Levi grabs her around the waist and they fly with their aero item, to the roof of the pharmacy. When they are safe:

— Here I brought some things, to bandage you, but first we'll have to mischaracterize those bites, so they don't notice in the skyscraper — says Levi, taking a knife from his belt.

"Give me this knife, I'll make the cuts myself." says Luna boldly.

Levi continues making the cuts precisely, to mischaracterize the bite, in a way that doesn't need to hurt that girl too much, when he finishes the leg he washes it with saline solution and bandages it, then goes to her back and checks her shoulder:

“It's going to hurt a little here, as it involves two bones, the collarbone and the shoulder blade, but I promise I'll be careful.

— Are you sure you can do it, because I saw that your hand is cold, and shaking. - Luna asks fearfully.

"I can, no need to worry. says Levi coldly.

Levi makes the cuts precisely again, and successfully mischaracterizes the bites, again washes the wounds with saline, and bandages them now with gauze and tape, both cuts look as if they had been taken from some hardware, or cave-in, Levi guards your knife calmly:

“There, you were very brave. says Levi, still cold.

"Now where are we going?" Luna says, getting up.

- Hang on. says Levi calmly.

He calmly takes off his aero item, placing it on the ground, then his overcoat:

“Take it, put this on, I don't want my squad distracted by your attire. - says Captain Levi coldly, with his deep voice, but blushing, after looking at her, he looks away.

Luna had forgotten in all that confusion that she was only wearing a bathing suit:

— Oh! Thanks Captain. - says Luna, embarrassed, and puts on the overcoat he had given her, while he replaced it back, his aero item.

He takes her in his lap, and they fly to the squadron's meeting place, when they arrive, he takes her down from his lap:

"Squad Levi are you all here?"

- Yes sir

“Lambert Squad are all here.

- Yes sir

“Alpha formation, to return.

“Sir, permission to speak,” says Ivan, raising his hand.

“Permission granted, speak Ivan. says Captain Levi coldly.

— Sir, the Alpha formation would be used if you were injured, but since this is not the case, it would not be good for us to use it, because if you go in the middle, we will be at a disadvantage, because you are the most agile among us.

'Okay, Ivan, what do you suggest?' Because I need to get this survivor safe and sound to the skyscraper, and she's injured.

— Good sir, we could use the Alpha formation, but we should put someone else in its place carrying it, as it is better to stay in the front line, as you can attack, and defend simultaneously, and prevent any enemy from reaching the middle where is our surviving friend.

— You are right, Ivan, you go in the middle carrying the young lady, and I will go, in the front line, protect her with your life. says Captain Levi seriously, but without showing any emotion.

- Yes sir. says Ivan.

“Let's go, Squad Levi. - says the captain

Levi leaves with the first part of his squadron, who always went, on the front line to attack, and shortly after Ivan:

- Excuse me Miss. - says Ivan taking Luna in his arms.

And it starts with the second part of the squadron with six soldiers on each side, and soon after the Lamberd squadron that would do the defensive part and that would protect the rear, because the zombies could come from any side, they could jump from any, window, or from another place they didn't expect, Levi went ahead exterminating all the zombies that appeared. When they arrive at the skyscraper:

“Pass your report to Captain Levi. says the General, a man around 78 years old.

— We had no losses, we brought medicines and supplies, and a few more items that Ivan will check and hand over the list, then take them to the stock. And we found a survivor, among some wreckage in zone K.

"Does she have any bite marks?"

'No, sir, I checked it myself.

“Bring the survivor here.

Ivan takes her down from his lap and Luna introduces herself:

- Hello my name is...

— Shut up, you can only address me when I talk to you.

— Forgive her sir, you don't know the rules here yet. says Captain Levi coldly.

"I think it's good to teach her, and what is she doing with her overcoat anyway, Captain."

— She was not wearing proper clothes, I was afraid the squadron would be distracted in flight.

"Okay, and who will take care of her?" Has anyone already ordered this?

"I will look after her myself, sir."

"Captain Levi, are you by any chance interested in this survivor?"

'Of course not, sir, she's just a survivor, nothing more. says Levi coldly.

"You've never offered to look after any survivors, you only do if you're told to, and usually very reluctantly, because you say you only find survivors, but you don't get involved...

“Just a moment, sir,” Levi says, cutting off the conversation, and turns to his men. — Dismissed soldiers. Al you take the miss, to the infirmary and stay there, wait for me before I leave you.

- Yes sir.

Then the soldiers, and Ale together, with Luna enter the skyscraper:

"What is it, Captain Levi?" Are you really interested in this survivor? Soon you are so cold and calculating, always saying that you would never get involved with anyone so as not to be distracted.

"No, sir, just that she reminds me of someone important to me."

"Who would that person be?"

— Sir, I prefer not to talk about this, I just ask your permission to take care of her, since I see that everyone is always busy taking care of the survivors and training them, I decided that I have to start doing the same, when I saw this girl, after all of accounts I have to be an example.

“I see, permission granted, but remember, she's your responsibility now, you'll have to train her to be a soldier, or find something useful for this girl to do here, I don't want useless people, and if she gets bitten, what if turn into a zombie, it will be your responsibility to kill her, do you have the nerve to do this?

"Yes sir, and thank you sir."

" She reminds you of the girl in that photo, the one you lost in battle, doesn't she?"

- Yes.

“You never told me anything about the lady in that picture, or how that girl died.

— Neither do I, I know exactly how she died, I just know that when I returned from a mission I received the news of her death, unfortunately I was not around to avoid it.

“Okay soldier, dismissed, but don't forget this isn't the girl in the photo.

'I know, sir. says Levi turning his back and walking into the skyscraper.
