Everyone was still shocked by that question, how could he suggest that Enrico Moretti could have gone to that house to propose marriage to him? His family at that moment wished to have a muzzle to stop Igor from saying things he shouldn't. Everyone was prepared to see Enrico unleash his fury on the boy, but unexpectedly, he responded in a softer manner.

"What's the difference between the two proposals?" his finger still traced the arm of the chair.

"Well, if you came to propose marriage to the young man from your family, I suggest you turn around and leave," his words were clear, but still with the same provocative tone.

Everyone wondered if he was really crazy, how could he tell that man to leave? Wasn't he tempting fate? Or was he seeking the ruin of his own family, with his own downfall?

Igor's grandfather was in total despair, seeing his grandson act in that way, he was almost having a heart attack, thinking about the situation Igor was involving them in.

"Igor, what impertinence is this? Apologize to Mr. Moretti!" he tried to salvage the situation.

Igor heard his grandfather's reprimand and couldn't help but feel satisfied to see him in panic, he lifted his lips into a slight smile, feeling more excited than ever. He could see in that moment how good power was, if you had it, people like his grandfather, who were naturally arrogant, ended up bowing their heads, just as he was doing at that moment.

What Igor found most amusing at that moment was to think about the fact that they didn't want him to marry someone from the Moretti family. Didn't they desperately want him to be obedient and do what they wanted? Well, he was doing it, but not in the way his family wanted. As Igor still wasn't sure about that dream, he still remembered that if he ran away, his life would be ruined, so he would do it, but his own way.

Enrico could see the mockery in that smile, his sharp eyes under those lenses seemed to see everything that was happening and facing that perception, he added.

"And if I propose marriage myself?"

That morning was quite interesting, instead of getting angry in public with Igor's attitude, Enrico was basically giving in to the young man's whims, something they had never seen him do to anyone. In the background, Jone paid attention to the direction things were taking and finally his good boy expression changed.

The young man Igor would marry was nothing more than a playboy, but Enrico was different, he was the leader of a powerful family, so of course the interests behind it all would change. Enrico was someone who couldn't be manipulated, and if Igor married him, things might not go as he wanted, even Igor's position would be elevated.

Andrea saw her son's expression, understood what was at stake, and tried to interfere in that matter.

"Igor, we know that because you were raised abroad, you like to play and maybe don't understand the seriousness of things, I know you're young and you think you haven't had enough fun and that's why you don't want to get married, but this is not the time for games, what will Mr. Moretti think of you and our family?"

At first, anyone who heard that speech would think it was just advice and that she was thinking of his well-being, but Igor knew well what she wanted, in fact, she just wanted to give a very bad impression of him to Enrico and that made him see how desperate she was at that moment, he straightened up and countered her argument.

"Aunt, what's your problem? Now it's your turn to want to teach me a lesson?"

"You..."

Andrea's speech was interrupted by Enrico's icy gaze, he slowly took off his glasses, revealing an even colder look without those lenses.

"It didn't seem to me like he was joking," he replied, looking in Igor's direction.

Enrico argued, putting an end to the possible obstruction from that family, he looked up at Igor, repeating his question, something he usually didn't need to do.

"You still haven't answered my question, if I propose marriage myself, would you consider me worthy of you?"

Igor met Enrico's gaze and for the first time felt a kind of connection, looking more closely and without the teasing and jokes, he seemed to have seen that look before, it wasn't the same icy look he gave his stepmother, it had a warmth he didn't understand, but that thought quickly dissipated. Enrico wasn't the type of man to forget easily, but he was surprised by the question, wasn't it him who should be asking if he was worthy of Enrico?

"Of course you are worthy," he replied, unable to use a playful tone.

Igor wasn't lying at that moment, how could Enrico not be worthy of him? No matter the reason why Enrico got involved in the game, and Enrico was helping him get out of that house, he would only seize that opportunity to free himself from that situation and his family.
