Igor knew that the subject he was about to bring up would anger everyone, but at that point, he no longer cared. Soon he would be returning to the country where he lived and leaving everything behind.
"Do you not like your own son, but take care of another family's child instead? Why is that? Is Jone also your blood?"
That question dropped like a bomb in the room, leaving everyone surprised and in a deadly silence. Jone frowned, he didn't expect Igor's temper to be so bad, to the point of exposing that subject in that way. He was only trying to help with that matter, but he was dragged into the middle of that confusion.
His father and stepmother exchanged glances, they were pale in front of that question, as if their disguise had been uncovered. Igor's grandfather breathed hastily a few times before answering his grandson.
"Whether he is or isn't, that's none of your business. Don't try to change the subject, you need to marry into this family."
Igor paid attention to everyone's reaction, and his doubts dissipated in that moment. Seeing that, even that detail was the same as in his dream, Jone did indeed have the blood of the Rossi family.
For that to be possible, his father betrayed his mother with Andrea, his old love, and his grandfather probably knew about that information, which is why he allowed her to enter the family with her son. And if everything was happening as in his dream, they trained his brother during those years to run the family business. But he didn't want to question why they did that, at that moment, Igor only felt one thing: anger.
When his mother got married, their family had some recommendations. Beatrice had a heart disease, and it wasn't advisable for her to get pregnant. But she ended up getting pregnant, even with twins, and the doctors recommended a legal abortion because she was at risk.
Beatrice loved her husband very much and didn't want to give up on those two lives inside her, so she went ahead with the pregnancy, defying all odds. After going through all the difficulties and giving birth, her disease worsened even more, and a few years later, she died from a heart attack.
Igor's anger was about his father's actions. He betrayed her during her pregnancy, sent him out of the country when she died, took his mistress and their illegitimate child to the house that used to belong to his mother, but now wanted to essentially sell him to save the family's finances. It disgusted him, before he didn't think much about it because he still had a glimmer of hope in his family, but that hope had ended there.
"Well then, who gets married is not my concern."
Igor replied, mocking them. He stood up angrily and left, not even thinking about his suitcase. He was going to leave that house at that moment, not wanting to spend another minute in that place.
"Igor, where do you think you're going? Someone stop him, he won't set foot outside this house until he's engaged."
Francesco barely gave that order when one of his employees appeared in a hurry to give a warning.
"Sir, someone from the Moretti family is on the property."
Everyone exchanged glances at that moment, the same question echoing in their minds, but it was Roberto who asked it.
"Who is the person outside?"
"He got out of the car and is in a wheelchair, I don't know his name, but we couldn't stop them from entering the property."
Someone from the Moretti family and in a wheelchair? That person could only be Enrico Moretti, Roberto looked shocked at his father.
"Enrico is here? Unless it's him, no one in that family needs a wheelchair."
Anger emerged even more visibly on the old man's face, a rare panic could be seen in his gaze. He had no idea what that man could want in his house, since he hadn't scheduled anything for the engagement.
"Get up and let's go to the door to greet him." He banged the table as he stood up.
Igor didn't hear all the details of that conversation, only that someone from the Moretti family was arriving. He didn't care who it was and walked quickly towards the front door. He was going to take advantage of the situation to escape. He was disgusted with that last name and just wanted to go as far away as possible.
That was the initial plan, but when Igor opened the door, he stopped in his tracks. There was a group of people blocking his path, and his eyes fell on the person who was just a few centimeters away from him. The man in the wheelchair.
The man appeared to be in his early thirties, and his black suit exuded a cold and striking personality. From his clothes to his gold-framed glasses and wristwatch, everything screamed pure luxury.
That man was truly handsome, tall and slim, and even sitting in that chair, his presence did not diminish his grandeur. The four subordinates behind him gave him a commanding air, not of the furious type, but majestic.
Igor couldn't move forward, the presence that man had didn't let him continue, as he liked men, he couldn't help but appreciate the beauty in front of him, and if he hadn't stopped in time, he might have even fallen into his lap.
Thinking about that possibility made most of Igor's anger disappear, maybe looking at handsome men somehow does good. The man in front didn't look away either, he placed his hand on the chair, making slight movements with his long fingers, then one of the men behind him spoke.
"Are you Igor Rossi?"
Igor shifted his scorching gaze from the man in front of him to look at that subordinate, even though he had heard that last name, he still didn't know exactly who that person in front of him was, or even, what they wanted in his house since it was clear that they were not invited, and he was unsure whether he should answer that question.
