Episode 4

The name that appeared on the cellphone screen was Leonel's, he was Igor's best friend abroad, he was calling through WhatsApp, Igor rubbed his temples and answered the call. As soon as he accepted the call, the loud noise of dance music came from the other side.

"Are you at a nightclub again? It's very noisy."

"Wait." he replied speaking loudly.

Igor took the device off his ear, it still remained noisy for a few more seconds, until he realized that the music had gotten quieter, then he could hear his friend's voice again.

"I sent you several messages, but you didn't respond, is everything alright, my friend?" he knew that Igor had returned home and he was worried.

"What could go wrong when it comes to my family? I saw my grandfather and he is in good health, I think he can still live for another seventy to eighty years." he replied ironically.

Igor told his friend what had happened at the dinner table, he spoke about how outrageous it was for his family to summon him, after hearing those things, his friend also spoke up.

"Man, that's ridiculous! What's wrong with your family? How can they want to use your happiness as a bargaining chip, to get benefits? You know what, it would've been better to follow your brother back to the De Luca family, than to be at the mercy of that bunch of vultures."

At that moment, Igor couldn't disagree with his friend, the truth was that he had a twin brother, when their mother died they were seven years old. The De Luca family and the Rossi family, who were supposed to be in-laws, started several disputes, including the custody of the two children.

At the end of that dispute, Igor's brother went with their maternal grandfather, he even changed his name and surname, becoming Marcelo De Luca. As he was younger by a few minutes than his brother, he remained in the Rossi family, therefore being the second son of the family, but soon after he was sent abroad.

Igor and Leonel had known each other for many years, his friend knew about all the problems in his family, in that situation it was no different, he stood by his friend and almost jumped from the cellphone screen when he found out what had happened, but a doubt arose in his heart.

"What's the name of your younger brother again? Why won't your father and grandfather let him marry in your place?"

"Jone," he replied, but his thoughts went to his nightmare, which resurfaced in his mind.

"The reputation of the third son is comfortable for him, but it's you who has the blood of the Rossi family, how ironic, your brother went to another family a long time ago and now they push you towards the Moretti family, has your grandfather gone senile? All these years valuing a person who doesn't even have his blood, is he also going to leave everything to this Jone?" he was indignant on the other end of the line.

The last sentence was something said without thinking by his friend, even if unintentional, Igor took seriously what he said, at that moment, once again his dream and reality merged. In the dream, Jone had indeed inherited the family fortune, his grandfather officially declared him a member of the family and he even changed his surname to Rossi.

Francesco was a very strict person, how could he hand over the family business to someone who didn't have his blood? Once again his dream came to mind and he had a disturbing thought.

"Hey, Igor! Why aren't you saying anything?"

"I'm fine, I'm here."

Igor gathered his thoughts and looked at his packed suitcase in the corner of the room.

"I booked a flight for three in the afternoon, I'll see you when I get back, my friend."

He was more than decided at that moment, he wasn't a puppet to be led and manipulated by his family, it was clear that there was no place for him in that place, and they even treated his wedding as a business transaction, it was obvious that he would stay as far away as possible.

"Then I'll wait for you, my friend, when you arrive I'll rent a bar that just opened, it's located outside the city center, so we can ward off your bad luck."

Igor smiled and replied, "Leonel, go join your girl and don't use me as an excuse."

The smile faded as soon as he ended the call, it was a fact that he didn't want his family inheritance as much as he wanted to confirm his suspicions. Ten minutes later, as he descended, he already heard his grandfather's reprimand.

"Sleeping until this hour? You're really used to being lazy abroad."

A new day, a new scolding. The corners of Igor's lips lifted, but before he could refute, someone intervened on his behalf.

"Grandpa, Igor just returned. He hasn't adjusted to the time zone yet, so don't scold him. After all, he's in his own house."

The person who defended him was Jone. He served a cup of tea to the old man before meeting Igor's eyes in a friendly manner.

"Igor, come and sit down. I went out yesterday to do some things and ended up not being here to welcome you," he said with a slight smile.

Igor smiled indifferently at him and approached the dining table. He and Jone had never had a close relationship before, and he began to observe the other man. In all that time, he had only formed a superficial impression of his half-brother.

Jone's temperament resembled that of his mother. His daily speech was sweet and kind. They had managed to persuade their father not only to accept him but also to call him his third son. The household staff treated Jone with respect. But in the dream he had the previous night, his sweet brother was an entirely ruthless person.

Since Igor couldn't forget that dream, all that was left was to pay attention to the events and see what part was a dream and what part fit into reality.
