Episode 10

"Ha! You're crazy, Son! Seriously bad. So you're the one who deliberately put the drug in that maid's drink bottle?" exclaimed one of the women, slamming the table in shock.

Richard straightened up, pulling down his hat so as not to be recognized. He tuned in carefully to listen to the table next to his, occupied by four women. He had also started a video recording of their interaction, discreetly, of course.

'Could they be Velyn's friends?' Richard wondered silently.

"Of course! I timed it, 15 minutes for the drug to kick in, then called that maid to clean up the room where Velyn was out cold! I locked it to ensure she couldn't escape!" replied a woman named Sonia, boasting proudly.

"Good heavens! So you deliberately made Velyn severely drunk? Damn, you're that obsessed with Gerald, Son!" protested one of Sonia's friends, from a different social circle than Evelyn.

"Yes, and I also spiked her drink with drugs, to heat things up! The next morning, I brought Gerald to catch them in the act. Without that, he would still be too proud! She doesn't deserve happiness!" Sonia replied with a wicked smirk.

Richard's hands clenched tightly, his blood boiling. His heart thumped explosively as he digested the revelations.

"That's terrible, we're not part of this! And remember, the happiness you steal from another woman won't last forever. It might even destroy you," cautioned one of her friends.

"I don't care! The important thing is, I'm marrying Gerald in three days. Oh, I've loved him for so long!" exclaimed Sonia, laughing triumphantly.

Rooted in anger, Richard barely noticed when Sonia and her friends had left the bar. He was jolted back to reality when someone bumped into his back, staggering drunk. "My goodness! Where did they go?" he muttered, searching around.

Rising to his feet, Richard hurried outside, clicking his tongue in irritation for losing their trail. Finally, he decided to head back to his wife's residence.

It was late when he arrived home, but Velyn had not yet gone to bed. She was still engrossed in her work. "Where have you been? You've been so busy lately. Busy looking for an affair, or what?" Velyn teased as her husband entered the room, not looking away from her laptop screen.

Richard sighed roughly. He didn't want to engage with his wife, fearing his anger would spill over onto Velyn. "Um, Vel, I need the address of a friend of yours named Sonia!" he diverted, making a request.

Velyn narrowed her eyes sharply, her brow furrowing deeply, "Why do you want Sonia's address?" she asked brusquely.

"It's important! Hurry! Before I go looking for her myself!" the man said, refusing to be contradicted, his gaze sharp and intimidating.

"Explain yourself first!"

"No time! I'll explain later! This is urgent!" he insisted forcefully.

Though annoyed and muttering, Velyn handed over Sonia's address written on a slip of paper. "Here!"

Without any further ado, Richard snatched it roughly and immediately left her alone. Velyn was stunned; she felt as though she had seen a different person in her husband.

"What's up with him? What's really going on?" Velyn wondered, then swiftly shook her head, "No! This can't be ignored. What if he's..." Quickly, she grabbed a jacket to cover her nightgown and ran after her husband.

"Darn it! He's in such a rush, like he's chased by demons!" Velyn cursed as she went back in to take a different car, for Richard had sped off quickly.

Anger-driven, Richard accelerated. The volcanic fury within him felt ready to erupt. He couldn't accept Sonia's outrageous behavior, not just towards himself, but towards Velyn as well.

Soon, Richard arrived at Sonia's residence. Just as her car had passed the gate. He followed right after, the security guard suspecting nothing, mistaking him for a friend of the mistress.

Sonia stepped out of her car, unaware of another vehicle tailing her. She was about to stride into her home.

"Mmmmpphh!" Sonia's muffled scream escaped as her mouth was covered by an unfamiliar person.

"Quiet, or I will kill you?" threatened Richard with his icy voice.

Sonia shook with fear, her eyes widening in terror at the sight of Richard, Velyn's husband, seething with rage.

"If you value your life, then be silent!" Richard commanded firmly, and Sonia nodded obediently.

Richard then dragged her into the house to avoid detection. He roughly pushed her, making Sonia nervous as she fumbled with her keys. They waited, and finally, the door opened.

Richard brutally hauled her inside and flung Sonia onto the couch. Sharp bolts of anger flashed from Richard's eyes.

"What... what do you want?" Sonia asked, frightened.
