Eric is surprised. "Fate has played a trick on me. I've been close to my baby this whole time."
Mario: "Sir, I can't believe Ranielly handed the baby over to you. After all, it's his child too. And also, what do you plan to do with Ray? How will you handle this situation?"
Eric sits in the chair. "Investigate where he's having the prenatal appointments. I want to be close, I'll keep an eye on my child."
Mario: "Are you planning on telling Ranielly that he is the baby's father? Remember that it was all a misunderstanding, and that's why this young man's life was turned upside down."
Eric: "I know, the best thing for him is to give me the child. I can help him financially, and he's young, he can move on. But for now, do as I've asked."
Mario leaves. Eric thinks to himself, "You've caught my attention from the start, and knowing that my child is being carried by you, for some reason, makes me happy."
Ray is at home by the pool with his friend, Greta, sunbathing, and decides to vent.
"Eric is being strange, always distant... our bed is cold."
Greta: "It must be the surrogacy issue. You have to be understanding with him right now."
Ray: "I know, I'm even willing to raise this child."
Greta smiles: "Tell the truth, my friend. You don't even like children. The nannies will be the ones raising it."
Ray smiles: "I'll hire three, just to be sure."
Greta: "Friend, I had a fight with my boyfriend. Can I stay here for a while?"
Ray hugs her: "Of course, you're always welcome in my house. But take your suppressants."
Greta: "Relax, I don't want your husband."
Ray: "And that's why you'll live a long life."
At college, Ranielly has noticed that everyone is giving him sideways glances, and he often overhears malicious comments.
"Another fatherless child," or "Just look, he doesn't even know who the father is. It's to be expected from someone like him."
Saiury arrives, hears the last comment, and yells: "College is a place for studying, yet there are many who remain stupid. I believe that the new generation of Alphas came with limitations."
The authors of the comments leave, irritated, knowing that Saiury will cause a scene.
"Are you two alright?"
Ranielly: "Yes, thank you. But please don't do that, it's not worth it."
Saiury: "Let those jerks fight, and you scream if you need to. Sometimes telling them to go to hell brings peace of mind. You should try it."
Ranielly smiles: "You haven't changed a bit."
Saiury: "At least you smiled. How's everything going? And how's our little one?"
Ranielly: "We're doing well. Thank you for the help with the job and for everything."
Saiury hugs Ranielly: "Don't be silly. We're friends, and friends help each other. And, speaking of, when I get married, you'll be the godfather. And my little one and your beautiful baby..." He gently touches Ranielly's belly.
Mario calls Eric and informs him that Ranielly has an appointment in the afternoon for his first ultrasound. He sends Eric the location.
Eric cancels his meetings, grabs his car keys, and leaves.
Hyago is in the office when he receives a call from the man he did business with a few days ago. He asks Hyago to assess a new house project and mentions that he will personally discuss the project and requests Ranielly's involvement.
Hyago is happy and assures him that Ranielly will be part of the project.
He thinks to himself, "Your resemblance cannot be a coincidence. You have his hair."
Ranielly is alone in the clinic waiting for his turn when Eric appears.
"Good afternoon. Did you come alone?"
Ranielly doesn't understand why Eric is there and asking questions: "Yes, and what are you doing here?"
Eric: "Well, I came to bring a friend for some tests, then I saw you and decided to say hello."
Ranielly: "I'm fine, thank you."
Eric sits beside him: "So, it's your first ultrasound today?"
Ranielly: "Yes."
Eric tries to control his emotions: "Ranielly, I know I said some horrible things. I just wanted to apologize."
Ranielly looks at him and says: "It's in the past." He gets up to drink some water but feels dizzy. Eric takes Ranielly's hand. "Hey, what's wrong? What do you need? I'll get it."
Ranielly sits down: "I'm fine. It's just my blood pressure that dropped."
Eric: "Stay here, I'll be right back." He leaves with hurried steps.
Ranielly thinks to himself, "What's gotten into him?"
Marisa is driving home when her tire blows out. She pulls over, and there's no repair shop nearby.
"This is not my day. I must have stepped on a trail of bad luck."
A luxurious car stops behind her, and an Alpha in his 40s approaches: "Hi, I'm Gustavo. Can I help you?"
Marisa looks at the man, then at her tire. "Looks like it. I'm Marisa."
He takes off his jacket, rolls up his sleeves, and starts changing the tire.
Eric returns with juice and a piece of quiche. "This will make you feel better."
Ranielly: "You didn't have to."
Eric: "You're still upset about that, aren't you? You don't want to accept it."
Ranielly takes the food: "Thank you." He eats while Eric watches him closely.
The doctor arrives. "Let's go, it's time."
Ranielly stands up. "Thank you, I'll be right there." He enters the room. The doctor looks at Eric and says, "Come see your baby. Come in." Eric smiles and follows closely behind.
