Episode 8

...DORIAN CERVANTES...

This girl, whom I am not sure whether to consider a niece because of her involvement with Iván or my future wife, fainted. Norma, my housekeeper, began shouting while holding her in her arms.

"What is this commotion?" I quickly arrived, thinking that the girl was up to some foolishness, but the scene was different. She appeared lifeless, and I couldn't believe she was feigning it, although I considered the possibility.

"What happened to her, Norma?" I picked her up and carried her to the master bedroom, with Norma following me.

"I don't know, sir. I handed her the purse, and then I spoke to her, but she seemed unresponsive. Oh, dear God, poor girl!" Norma became anxious and worried about everything.

"Call Orlando immediately and tell him to come urgently." She ran off to fulfill my request while I looked at the unconscious person on my bed.

It was evident that she had been crying; her eyelids were swollen. But there was something else that caught my attention—multiple marks on her arms. I lifted her blouse and examined part of her body, searching for any other marks. Her neckline revealed nothing, as did her chest. I looked behind her neck and part of her back, finding more marks as if from a firm grip.

Norma returned with Orlando, who examined her. Orlando has known me for a long time; he is a good friend who couldn't comprehend what had happened.

I showed him the marks I had discovered, and he looked at me seriously. He understood what I was thinking.

He inserted an IV and drew blood, saying she would likely sleep for a few hours.

"Did you check the cameras?"

"There were over two hundred people here, and within a few minutes, they stopped recording."

"Are you sure you didn't touch her?"

"Of course not. I don't even remember locking the door. I took some pills and fell asleep. I woke up to the commotion caused by her parents, Iván, and several onlookers."

"Something happened to her, but the tests will reveal what it was. I don't believe she was drunk; perhaps someone tried to abuse her, and she managed to escape."

"I don't know, but I will uncover the truth, and whoever is responsible will regret it."

"I will call you as soon as I have the results. If anything happens to her, you call me."

I went to the room where she was, and Norma was changing her clothes.

"Sir, the young lady was highly distressed after looking at her phone."

"Do you know what she saw?"

"I don't know, sir, but she wasn't lying. She seemed genuinely affected."

"Where was her phone?" I knew it wasn't in my room.

"In the first guest room, in her purse."

If she woke up in my room, in my bed, why was her purse in the guest room? Something happened here, and I dislike whatever it may be.

I took her phone and unlocked it using her fingerprint. I checked her messages, call history, WhatsApp, and opened social media on my phone. I found that a photo of the two of us had gone viral, but she was the one being crucified, accused of being promiscuous for being involved with nephew and uncle.

I quickly removed the pictures, but it won't change anything because everyone has already seen them, and her reputation is ruined.

If it had been this young girl who had planned everything, she wouldn't have deleted some images or disabled the security cameras for several minutes. She couldn't have done it alone, and I doubt she would have chosen to drug herself.

Iván doesn't know how to manipulate such a complex system; he is too foolish. But if I start searching for culprits, there are over two hundred suspects, more than half of them of questionable origin—like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Moreover, we gain nothing by being together. The only ones who benefit are her parents. But what do they desire so desperately that they would expose their daughter? As a father myself, I believe that if anything were to happen to my child, I wouldn't use them for personal gain. I would make the culprits pay. Nevertheless, among the wealthy, many injustices are settled with money. It may not be sensible or humane, but that's life.

I will get to the bottom of this, and Valentina will have to help me. Now, on top of everything, I have to plan a silly wedding with a foolish girl. What strikes me as odd is that neither my ridiculous brother nor the idiot I have as a nephew came to confront me about anything.

I patiently waited for the little brat to wake up while anxiously anticipating the results that Orlando has to give me about his analysis.

📨Find out everything you can about the Sierra family. I want to know all there is about Valentina Sierra primarily, and I want discretion. I gave the order to Silvio Villanueva, my right-hand man, someone I trust.
