The pen

We all had that one moment when our pen didn’t want to write so we had to scribble on something until it did, let me explain to you exactly why that happens:

Elijah was your regular black pen which from time to time decided to stop doing its job as if it was the end of his shift and he could sleep after a long day at work.

You may wonder why, so let me tell you Elijah’s story and his reason behind his actions.

Every day, Elijah wakes up at 7.30 am when his owner starts working. Even tho, he’s still sleepy and stumbling every few words, he’s working and soon makes no mistakes and works fluently. He is used to work 6 and in extreme cases 8 hours.

Sometimes when he gets bored, he decides to play with owner and stop working and when the owner scribbles on a separate paper to make him work again, he works, but as soon as he touches the assignment, he stops working again. After doing it a few times, he starts working again.

Other times, he is so tired, he just starts sleeping mid assignment and not wake up until nightfall or the next day, making Owner worry about his well-being. Sometimes Owner thinks he died or something and shakes him, performs cpr on him only for him to either be in a deep slumber or to slowly wake up mubling curses at him.

Another reason, similar to the other two mixed together is because he gets bored doing his work, but he is also too tired to do anything. That way he stops working from time to time and when you try to rewrite that word or number, he works.

Occasionally, when he doesn’t want to work at all, he just finds a way to roll out of the pencil caseon the desk or in the backpack, depending on his location.

Whenever Elijah wanted to play hide and seek, he hid himself in a place he knew Owner would look and while giggling like a moron, waiting to be found. When found, he laughs so hard, he rolls from Owner’s hand making him try his best to catch him.

There are times when Owner lets Elijah fall and he gets hurt. Not only physically, but also sentimentally. So, after being dropped, Elijah stops working for a while until he gets bored of not doing anything, so he starts rolling around until Owner notices him, picks him up and makes him work.

Even though Elijah looks like he doesn’t want to work, he actually loves to, but is also way too lazy to work. All he needs at those times is either a small break, a good shake or, in very extreme cases, cpr.

Elijah is indeed a good pen or as elders would say “a good lad”. Even though he’s lazy, he gets work done. So be nice to him and he will be nice to you as well.
