Rudy arrived swiftly at the border of the Lotus Flower Pack. He was incredibly quick, easily leaping past the guards. Nearing the place where the wolves often mated, he began to scent the air, searching for his father's smell, but he first detected the doctor's scent and thought nothing of it, as he was heading towards the witch's cabin. He grinned:
"Doctor, you are quite the rogue."
He continued towards the waterfall, where he knew his father liked to linger. There, he found traces of his father's scent and that of his mate, along with two more puzzling scents – one of a dead wolf and another of…
"It can't be, though…" he inhaled deeply, trying to discern the delightful scent that could only belong to his mate.
Yet, the doctor had also been there, attempting to mask his scent. Had Rudy not been so eager to pick up the trail of his female, he might not have noticed. He decided to pursue the doctor’s trail to the witch’s cabin, as that seemed less risky than going to the clinic.
As he neared, he sensed his mate's scent more strongly and was invigorated, but he discovered another path, marked with her scent, leading away from the house in a different direction. He chanced it and knocked on the door repeatedly, but no answer came.
It happened that Rudy arrived precisely when Merheia was on the plateau with the rescued girl, and June had already dashed off towards the town, to Rosa's house, where she intended to plan her entry into the La Cruz house. Rudy could not resist and followed his mate's trail, unknown to him yet, but not to be lost over any other matter.
Rudy understood where the female’s trail would lead and halted in the woods near the house to observe. He stayed there a long time, needing to hunt to feed himself and took a shower at the poolside late at night, but the wait paid off. She walked out with Rosa to pick some fruit from the orchard.
"She’s beautiful!" he exclaimed aloud, having reverted to his human form for the shower and remaining so.
"Yes, she is beautiful, and she’s my daughter. What are you doing here, Rudy?"
Rudy had been so focused on his mate that he’d neglected the doctor's approach from behind. He turned his head to look at him and replied:
"I came following my companion's scent," he growled, his words heavy with the intention of warning the doctor not to interfere.
"So she is your mate. That is a privilege for me but a challenge for you. She had a difficult childhood with her mother."
"That doesn't matter; she's mine, and I won't be like my father. I will have only one mate and it will be her."
"Do you want to come in? I can find you some clothes."
"No, I want you to confirm something for me: was there confusion on the night of the blood moon?"
"Yes. There was the death of a newly transformed young wolf."
"At the same place as the Alphas' mating... I see... I was there and probably the pup that the Luna is expecting is from the young wolf, who was killed without even realizing."
"Precisely. June noticed a foul smell..."
"June? Is that her name?"
"Yes. The Alphas or the Luna, we don’t know, found her at the scene and locked her in the dungeon, but she managed to escape."
"How? That dungeon is impregnable."
"Merheia and I helped her."
Truth be told, even Malek didn't know how she had managed to reach the upper floors to be rescued by the witch.
"I see, she didn't see anyone else there?"
"I have to go, if you don’t wish to enter or be seen, hide, because they will be searching for me soon."
Malek walked away, leaving the Alpha alone with his thoughts. It wasn't yet time to speak about his mother and his concern for June, who seemed to be concocting a plan to execute alone. He returned home and helped the two women with the fruit baskets.

June’s arrival at Rosa's house was celebrated with joy, and the woman even shed tears on seeing her well. Rosa immediately began preparing substantial meals and delicacies to feed her, believing she was still too thin.
Malek came home from work early and sat down to chat with them. June shared her suspicions and reasons for following the foul odor, which ultimately led to her capture by the Alpha pair.
"You shouldn't speak of this to anyone else, daughter. It's dangerous to meddle in the unknown."
"Do you think the Luna is a witch?"
"Merheia claims she’s not, that she is simply a she-wolf, but she must be allied with some powerful witch capable of deceiving an Alpha and an entire Pack."
"So, you think she used the young wolf and then staged it for the Alpha, and in order to make no one question the progeny she might bear, he killed the boy to avoid any doubts."
"This matter is rather cunning; I hadn't thought such things existed in the supernatural world, but then again, I was unaware there was a supernatural world at all."
They all laughed, and Rosa swiftly changed the subject, sensing the conversation getting too intense and bordering on gossip.
"I bought a beautiful dress for you, dear. We're attending a party at the hospital where Malek works tonight, and we want you to come with us."
"I've never been to a party," June expressed, concerned.
"Don't worry, dear. We'll be with you the whole time, and your father is eager to show off a beautiful daughter like you."
"Okay, then."
June pondered; perhaps the party would suit her plans. First, it would provide her with an alibi, and secondly, she could ascertain if any men from her childhood who had harmed her were there. She was ready to take her revenge that night, but it would occur at the La Cruz house.
