"Two million each, then," replied the seller.
"Alright, I'll take those two, sir," Ferzo declared.
"Okay," the seller responded cheerily. He tied the animals' necks with a rope loosely enough to be comfortable and placed their food into a plastic bag as a bonus, as well as a sample in case the owner wanted to purchase more for his pets.
"Here are the animals, and here's their food. To keep their fur nice, soft, and not shedding, just feed them this, okay?" the pet seller advised.
"Got it." Ferzo nodded. He reached into his pants pocket and handed over four million.
"Thank you so much! If you ever want to buy more pets, just come to me. I guarantee they are healthy and of high quality," the seller said, giving a thumbs up with a smile.
"Sure thing, sir." Ferzo nodded again. He placed his two new pets on the ground by his feet, since he had a scooter to ride.
"Be safe on the road, no running off," Ferzo cautioned as he secured the leash to his scooter's handlebar and gently stroked his cat and dog to ensure they behaved.
Then, Ferzo set off onto the street. "Heh, now I've got some new friends." He smiled at his pets enjoying the ride.
The scooter zoomed ahead but suddenly a man sprinted cross his path.
"Wow, he's running so fast, is he training for a sprint race or something?" Ferzo mused aloud while glancing backward.
[Ding Ding]
[New mission]
[Catch the thief]
[Reward: 4,000,000]
[Mission status: In progress]
People were seen rushing and shouting ahead.
"Thief! Thief!" they yelled.
"Hahaha... I thought he was just out for a run, turns out he's a thief," Ferzo said as he turned his scooter and sped towards the direction the thief had fled.
Ferzo had a glimpse of the crook making a turn when he had looked back earlier, so he swerved into the same side street.
Luckily, his animals remained calm and didn't act up.
Slowing down, Ferzo wondered, "Which way did he go?" as he approached a three-way intersection. He stopped to consider whether to go left or right.
"Hmm... let's try left, most people are right-handed so they might go left instinctively," Ferzo chuckled to himself and then steered his scooter to the left.
Upon arrival, he saw a bushy area with a low, shady tree. Ferzo parked his scooter and stood it on its stand.
"Don’t wander off, I'll be back in a flash," he reassured his pets as he petted their heads.
He started to scout the area, but suddenly, he urgently needed to urinate. Ferzo checked to his left and right to ensure no one was around.
"Seems clear enough here." He unzipped and relieved himself near the little tree.
"Hey! Hey! How dare you pee on me!" yelled a man drenched from Ferzo's stream.
"Oops, sorry, my bad, I didn't know anyone was here," Ferzo apologized as he buttoned up.
"Damn it! Just my luck!" the man grumbled, standing up from the tree and walking away from Ferzo.
"Hold on a minute!" Ferzo called out.
The man paused and turned to face Ferzo. "What now?" he asked with irritation.
Ferzo rushed over, grabbed the man's arms with a firm grip, and pinned him down.
"Hey! What are you doing?" the man shouted, struggling to break free.
"You're a thief. Give back what you stole to its owner, then I'll let you go," Ferzo asserted.
"Who says I'm a thief? I've stolen nothing!" the man protested.
"Then why run and get chased by a crowd, hiding out here?" Ferzo challenged.
"I wasn't hiding; I was looking for something," the man squirmed under Ferzo's weight.
"Don't lie to me! Come on, you're coming with me." Ferzo got the man to his feet. He couldn't leave his scooter unguarded, as it would surely be stolen.
Ferzo led the man to his scooter, took the leash from his dog, and bound the man's hands. The man kept trying to escape, but Ferzo was considerably stronger.
"You must be someone's tough kid, huh? You're unexpectedly strong for someone so lean!" the man exclaimed.
"Of course, I am! I'm my parents' child," Ferzo responded as he tied the man to the scooter's rear handle. He then linked his dog to the cat with another leash.
Starting his scooter softly, he allowed the captive to follow on foot. The man tried to bite the leash in the reflection of the side mirror, but Ferzo sped up a bit, forcing the thief to jog to avoid being dragged.
That continued until they reached a main road.
There, a group of people were gathered, looking exhausted from their chase. Upon seeing Ferzo with his scooter, towing the sought-after thief, their expressions turned to relief.
