Episode 8

Viona continues to revolt, wanting to pull her step-sister's hair. She is still unsatisfied and angry.

Bernard embraces Viona from behind, preventing his wife from attacking her step-sister again.

Bernard is actually very nervous about embracing Viona, even though it was unintentional due to the altercation between his wife and step-sister, in order to prevent Viona from hitting her sibling again.

Despite feeling nervous, he strangely finds comfort in holding Viona's body.

"What happened? What happened?!" William enters the kitchen, immediately rushing home after being told by his first daughter-in-law, Dina, that his beloved daughter Lidia is injured.

"Lidia was hit by Bernard's wife..her hair was pulled, her scalp might be bruised!" Lisa tells her husband angrily.

"Bernard..how could you allow your wife to be violent towards your sibling?!" William scolds Bernard as he walks towards his daughter to check on Lidia's condition.

"She went too far..as her sibling, he was disrespectful towards my husband, so I tried to teach her to mind her manners!" Viona answers her father-in-law.

"You insolent woman..what right do you have to give my daughter a lesson? You're just a daughter-in-law in this house, unworthy of speaking up..let alone defending your husband!" William says to Viona with a sharp-toned pressure.

Viona is shocked to hear her father-in-law's words, not taking her husband's side at all.

What kind of father is this! Viona can't believe it.

Viona's body trembles as she tries to hold back her exploding anger, unable to accept that her father-in-law is also being cruel to her husband.

"I won't stand for this!" Viona screams in frustration.

All eyes are on Viona as she yells.

Bernard feels his wife's body trembling with pent-up anger. He rubs Viona's back to calm her down.

"I won't accept my husband being treated unfairly in this mansion!" Viona boldly stares at her father-in-law, "He is your flesh and blood, but why do you treat him like a stranger!"

"He is an unwanted child..his mother trapped me with sedatives, he doesn't deserve my attention!" William retorts harshly.

Viona feels Bernard's body trembling behind her as he hears his father's words. Viona also feels heartbroken hearing her father-in-law's explanation.

"Father-in-law, you're so cruel..my husband doesn't know that he exists in this world because of his mother's mistake..is it fair for you to say that to him, without an ounce of conscience!" Viona shakes her head, disappointed in her father-in-law.

"He deserves it..as an unwanted child, he has never once made us proud..from childhood to adulthood, we only spent money on taking care of him..he can't do anything, can't even work, all he knows is wandering around!" Viona's mother-in-law says sarcastically.

Viona feels Bernard's body tensing up again, as if he's holding back his anger.

"Bernard, you're already an adult..and now you have a family, take your wife and leave this mansion..go away from here, I don't want any more problems in the mansion in the future..you can struggle on your own to support your wife, leave today!" William responds to Bernard with a bitter tone.

The kitchen falls silent.

Viona is shocked to hear her father-in-law's words. She looks at her husband who is bowing his head.

Her husband's face looks incredibly disappointed, Viona can feel how let down Bernard is by his family.

Viona feels her love for her husband grow even stronger. She strokes Bernard's hand, still wrapped around her from behind. Whatever happens, she will always stand by her husband through thick and thin.
