Episode 6

Viona watched as her husband quickly finished his breakfast. His plate was immediately spotless with no leftover food.

Bernard gulped down his juice in one go, leaving his glass empty.

Viona could only watch in silence as Bernard, her husband, seemed to never truly enjoy a good meal.

Viona hadn't even touched her breakfast yet, while Bernard had already finished his.

Bernard looked at Viona, who hadn't taken a single bite of her breakfast, his sharp eyes focused on her meal.

Bernard felt like he had never experienced such delicious food in his entire life.

Viona noticed Bernard's gaze on her breakfast and felt that he was still hungry.

Didn't he say he was already full? Viona wondered.

"Would you like more, my husband?" Viona asked, pushing her plate forward.

Bernard stared at Viona, and whenever she referred to him as 'my husband,' he felt a slight pang in his heart, unsure of what it meant.

"No, just eat!" he shook his head.

"I'll eat just a little, the rest is for you," Viona said, eating a quarter of her breakfast.

Then Viona handed Bernard the untouched part of her meal.

Bernard hesitated for a moment before accepting Viona's breakfast. He saw her motioning with her hand for him to eat the remaining food.

In an instant, the breakfast offered by Viona was devoured.

This is delicious, Bernard thought, feeling lucky to have tasted such an extraordinary meal.

Suddenly, from the kitchen door, Bernard's younger sibling's voice rang out, startling Viona.

"Outrageous... Are you stealing food from the kitchen? The food in this house is not free; it's all bought with money... Work, don't just enjoy good food without doing anything!" Bernard's sibling exclaimed loudly.

Viona looked at her in-law with displeasure, feeling that her sibling-in-law never showed any respect towards Bernard.

"What do you see!" her sibling-in-law raised her chin arrogantly at Viona.

"As your sibling-in-law, you have no respect for your older brother!" Viona retorted sharply.

"Brother? He's not my brother. He's my father's illegitimate child... He's just an unwanted illegitimate child in this house... My siblings are only Morgan and Andreas!" Viona's sibling-in-law said with indifference.

"Then don't disturb my husband if you don't consider him your brother!" Viona replied, matching her sibling-in-law's indifference.

"Are you blind? He's trash, a useless man... What's the point of marrying him!" Viona's sibling-in-law said rudely.

Slap!!

A hard slap landed on Viona's sibling-in-law's cheek, causing her cheek to bear the mark of Viona's palm.

"My husband is not trash!!" Viona said sharply, her eyes filled with anger.

The sound of Viona's slap startled Bernard. He stood up and saw Viona with an angry expression glaring at his step-sibling.

"You...!" Bernard's step-sibling was shocked, holding her cheek that stung from being slapped by Viona. She didn't expect her step-sister-in-law to dare strike her.

"Say it again that my husband is trash, and I'll slap your mouth shut!" Viona said loudly, unhappy with her step-sibling's mistreatment of Bernard. It was truly audacious.
