Episode 5

Viona saw her husband silent, not caring about what his family said.

Bernard seemed to be enjoying his breakfast, calmly peeling the egg.

And then he put it on Viona's plate, and then took Viona's boiled egg.

Peeling it until it was clean, and putting it back on Viona's plate.

Viona froze, seeing her husband only having one slice of bread and bitter tea.

Viona trembled to hold back her hurt. She took her plate and pushed her chair back.

She grabbed her husband's hand and pulled him to stand. Then she took him to the kitchen.

The dining room fell silent as they watched Viona dragging her husband to the kitchen.

"Let them be, let's continue breakfast... it's almost noon!" said William, Viona's father-in-law, nonchalantly.

"Yes, let's eat... why bother with them!" added Lisa, Viona's mother-in-law, also nonchalant.

In the kitchen, Viona placed her plate on the table and pulled out a chair for her husband to sit.

"I will cook breakfast for us!" Viona said after Bernard sat down.

"No need, I'm already full!" Bernard's baritone voice was heard again, sounding calm but not cold.

Viona stared at her husband, they gazed at each other for a moment. Bernard's sharp eyes were surprisingly beautiful when observed, and he actually had long eyelashes.

Suddenly, Viona felt her cheeks blush. She quickly blinked her eyes and turned her face to look at the refrigerator.

"No... one slice of bread is not enough, I will cook something quickly, wait!" Viona walked towards the refrigerator, checking its contents.

Viona took out some ingredients to make breakfast.

A waiter approached them.

"Do you need any help, Miss?" he asked politely.

"No, thank you... I can handle it myself!" Viona replied, and started cooking breakfast for her and her husband.

Bernard cut the two eggs he had peeled into four pieces.

Then he placed them on two plates, two egg slices on each plate. Viona then prepared the complements for the eggs.

Bernard observed, without taking his eyes off, how Viona prepared their breakfast.

Viona cleaned the button mushrooms, then sliced them, and set them aside.

She cut two sausages according to her preference, then set them aside.

Viona then sliced onions, and cut the tomatoes into small pieces. She also sliced the green onions.

Viona took some cooking oil and started heating the pan. Once hot, she poured a little cooking oil.

After the cooking oil was hot, Viona added the sliced onions, and once they wilted, she added the sliced tomatoes.

And then she added the mushrooms, sliced sausages, and a little butter, sprinkled some salt, and stir-fried until fragrant.

Viona poured a little milk into the stir-fry, and finally sprinkled some powdered pepper and sliced green onions.

Then she tasted it.

After that, she poured the stir-fry onto the two egg slices on each plate.

Finally, she placed two slices of bread on the side of the plate. Then she made orange juice for both of them.

Bernard didn't blink as he stared at the breakfast Viona had placed in front of him.

The aroma was so enticing, making him salivate and wanting to taste it quickly.

"Enjoy your meal, my husband," Viona said, placing the orange juice in front of Bernard.

Bernard spontaneously stared at Viona, his eyes sharp and teary. His face seemed to blush slightly.

Viona didn't notice the change in her husband's face. She momentarily turned around to get her juice.

When she turned around and was about to sit down, Bernard had already finished his breakfast. And he looked very eager, enjoying the breakfast made by Viona.
