Don't. The moment you touch it, you'll be dragged in forever." Xavier shouted, making me flinch. I retrieved my hand quickly.
"And why is that?"
"Sea monsters reside in it, to protect the students from any danger. But the worst part is, they cannot differentiate, so they're equally dangerous for everyone." Now that was a piece of information I had to take a note on.
The dew was now thinning. A small red light gleamed high in the sky, and the tower came into my view, and slowly the whole place. It was huge like a mansion. The walls looked old yet strong with several towers of different heights standing high.
The boat stopped at the shore and we stepped out. I followed Xavier to a huge gate with two iron statues of soldiers in armors on each side.
He held the hand of the statue standing on the right and a green light beamed out of its holes and the gate opened itself.
"Woah! What was that?" I asked followed him inside.
"Palm detection, only those who're registered under the academy have access to the entrance. No outsider is allowed unless they're accompanying someone who's registered." He paused. "Do not touch anything…… Anything." He repeated before continuing to walk.
We entered a garden full of strange plants. I could recognise none. A specific one caught my eye. It had carrots hanging on branches at different heights. Funny right. I'd like to taste that someday.
We came across another gate with two ears engraved on each side. Xavier stopped in front of the right one and said "Xavier Sandus" and the door opened. I was amazed, the security here was on a different level.
We entered a huge white room with golden patterns on the walls. It was lightened up as if it was midday. Some pictures were hung here and there just like the corridor of that disguised hotel. A counter was set up in the corner and we were walking towards it. I couldn't see anybody behind it but Xavier was still walking in its direction.
He rang the bell and a child popped up on the chair. He had wavy golden hair, fair skin and a blue jumpsuit with a red bow tie.
"Hello! Good night. Welcome to Mystery academy of magic and skills. Billy at your service. How may I help you?" He spoke in a strange accent, like those in dubbed anime.
"Oh! Xavier, is that you? It's been so long since we last met. How've you been? You haven't changed a bit. What brought you here tonight?..." He asked questions one after another.
"I'm here to register a new vampire today. And please set up an appointment with tailor Swift too.
No, it's not Taylor Swift, it's tailer Swift. I had the same thought at that time. Billy observed me from head to toe.
"A new vampire? Wasn't reviving forbidden? Who received her? When? And most importantly why? Will he or she be punished or has the rule been taken down?...." Another series of non stop questions.
"That's not your business. For please." Xavier interrupted him and forwarded his reply ght hand.
The boy snapped his fingers and a paper came flying from God knows where. It directly came and rested on Xavier's hand, and he passed it to me.
The format only had 4 words.
Name-
Gender-
Human age-
Race-
"Read and answer." Xavier said, pointing towards the paper.
"Okay… excuse me, can I get a pen?' I asked the boy.
"You just need to answer verbally." Xavier replied before the boy could.
"Umm… okay… Name, Melissa Bardot." I started reading and answered loudly and my name appeared on the paper.
"Gender- Female, Human age- seventee… sorry eighteen," and the words were printed exactly like I said. Why do I have to mess up everytime. Xavier gave me a bombastic side eye and signalled to continue. I looked back down.
"Race…?" I looked back at him with a questionable look.
"It's vampire dun," his face clearly said 'so dumb'.
"Vampire," I said and the form flew out of my hand to Billy.
"I'll report to the office about the error. Tailor Swift will be free in an hour. Here's your appointment card, make sure to be there on time, you know how punctual she is. You should now visit Principal Paul and…." "Thanks," Xavier took the card and started walking to the next door before they could finish.
"You're welcome, Billy at your service, anytime." He shouted and I saw him snap his fingers again, while following Xavier and the paper flew away and suspendes into the wall.
The next door was also large but already opened. We walked into a huge corridor with red carpet spread on the floor. The walls were the same as the previous room, with doors at different distances with name tags hung up on each of them. We stopped at the last door which seemed different from others. While others had silver print, this one was red.
Xavier knocked on it thrice, before entering. The room seemed like a usual office cabin, ones that are owned by old, rich CEOs in dramas. A desk and chair with a huge window behind it, with a river view, antiques placed everywhere, huge bookshelves with thousands of books, some papers scattered on the desk and a name plate with 'Principal Paul' printed on it.
The only unusual thing was a round marble kept beside the nameplate. Something, maybe a witch would use.
"Looks like we have some guests."
