Invisible

I felt as if I'd vomit my organs soon. I stood up covering my mouth and ran, pushing my way out.

My whole elimentary canal seemed to on fire. It was painful yet pleasuring. I could feel my blood pressure rising and heart beat increasing, and sweat dripping through my lower head and trickling down my neck to the back, giving a ticklish sensation. I felt my muscles energising as if I had been charged. I could also feel a stinging pain in my jaw, specifically near the canine.

The feeling kicked in as if I was on drugs.

Though my inside was on fire, my skin felt icy cold.

I held onto a tree trunk and gagged, wishing to puke the drink out but failed.

"You'll be fine soon," I heard Xavier.

He was right. I was now slowly regaining my breath and my heart seemed to be slowing down. Though the temperature felt to be decreasing more and more. Everything was so quick that it was different to respond.

I held my chest and stood up. It felt better now. Actually, I never felt so good before. I could feel energy flowing through me. It felt refreshing as if I just had a cool fresh lemonade on a sunny afternoon.

"How do you feel? Good? Better? Best?" I turned around to a curious Xavier. He had his eyebrows raised with a questionable look on his face.

"Better," I nodded. But 'Best' was the answer. I never felt this way before. Is this love?

Nah… just kidding. I felt extremely good. Like all the cells of my body have been replaced into new ones. The feeling was pleasurable and gradually increased.

"Since you feel better, let's show you around the mystery forest. He spread his hands and turned around. "Follow me…. Closely." He said and….. vanished.

Yes, the guy who was standing in front of me a moment ago, vanished. He disappeared.

I understand that he's a Vampire, but he can't be showing off his tips and tricks without a prior notice when it's my first time. A human needs some time to adjust, you know.

Okay…. I'm not a human anymore but I WAS just a few hours ago. I need time to take everything in. I'm still not used to this vampire stuff.

I circled around calling his name to check if he was hiding somewhere but there were no traces of him. It was dark and bushy but the trunks weren't thick enough to hide a grown up man.

We were in the middle of a forest now… no I was in the middle of a forest now, ALONE, with nothing but a cave behind me, which was filled with bloody ooze and the stink of dead animals and rotten flesh. There was no way I was going in, again. If I do, I might really puke my organs out. I wished Carla would come out.

"You're still here?" Someone whispered in my left ear. I stepped away taking a combat position with my arms ready to punch anyone who'd seem dangerous. But luckily it was just Xavier.

"You scared me!" I punched his arm as I was used to punching Lucas all the time. Gosh, I miss Lucas.

"You got a death wish?" He tilted his head and cupped my neck, not in a romantic way…… And his brown eyes started glowing. Now, that's a vampire. I was waiting for it. Yeah… he looked a little scary with those glowing eyes but I was more amazed than scared.

"I'm already dead." I said, and wanted to punch myself the next moment. He opened his mouth to reply, and there they were….. those fangs. Sharp and long, like a…. Canine with developmental defects.

"I can help you experience it again."

"No thanks, I'm grateful for your offer though." I need to stop.

"You better be careful. I won't let it slide the next time." He finally lowered his hand and his canines shrinked to normal.

I sighed in relief.

"By the way, how did you do that?"

"What?"

"How did you become invisible?" I obviously wanted to try it.

"I didn't. I just ran so fast that your eyes couldn't follow." I didn't buy it.

"Even, I am a vampire now. How can I not?"

"You think you gain all the skills the moment you become a vampire?" He crossed his arms.

"You mean I don't?"

"Of Course not, you need to learn everything from scratch. You might be faster and more powerful than all the humans out there but you're still at level 0 here." I could sense mockery in his speech. The corner of his lip curved into a smirk.

"So, I need to learn? Are you gonna teach me?" I tried to scoff but failed. I was ridiculously bad with my sarcasm. Nobody ever understood it. Not even Lucas.

"I'm too busy to babysit. And we got academies here. You need to learn everything and ace in your academics. That's what decides whether you're a prey or a predator." He started walking and I followed.

"Academies?"

"Yeah, we have teachers, students and everything. Though no vampire has been admitted since ages. I was the last alumni from our race." His tone changed. It was now soft and slow, followed by sighs after every sentence. Was he missing his school days now? Woah…. I would never. I hated school and I'm glad I don't have to attend one anymore. At Least not a normal one.
