Are you okay?” he asked, frowning in concern. “I’m fine…” she mumbled, averting her gaze from him. “you don’t seem fine” Haruki said in surprise. “no I’m not” the girl confessed, dropping her gaze on the floor. Haruki’s eyes widened, feeling surprised by her admission, “then… tell me the reason” he said, hoping that she would do so. She lifted her head, meeting his gaze. She bit her lower lip and averted her gaze again. “I…” she began hesitantly. Haruki waited patiently for her to continue. “I hate being alone” she said, looking at him again. Haruki raised an eyebrow in disbelief. “how can you say that? We are alone now” he protested, gesturing towards the empty room. “I mean… when I’m alone… I feel sad and lonely” she explained. “sometimes, i wish that someone would talk to me or even touch me” she whispered, tears forming in her eyes. “but sometimes i wish that someone would leave me” she cried out, shaking her head. Haruki swallowed nervously. ‘It’s true.He had wished many times before that someone would tell him that they loved him, and that it hurt every time that nobody did. He had wished that they would hold him and tell him everything would be alright, but he hadn’t dared telling anybody, afraid that somebody might get angry or scared. But now… now he didn’t care anymore. Because he knew that that person he loved would never hurt him again, and that was all that mattered to him. She turned around, trying to hide her tears from him. He wanted to comfort her, but he feared he may upset her more. “let’s get ready for breakfast. I’m hungry” he said instead. She took a deep breath. “okay” she replied, turning around to face him again. She walked over to his wardrobe and started looking for something. “are you going to wear that?” he asked, pointing at her red dress. The girl froze for a moment, then slowly turned around to face him again. “no. It looks better on you” she replied. Haruki smirked. “really?” he asked playfully. “why not?” she countered, raising her eyebrows. He smiled at her and leaned closer to her, taking her hand and pulling her close.because i’d rather look at you” he purred. She giggled softly and rested her hands on his shoulders. “i’m glad you think so. Now come on, let’s have breakfast” she said, smiling brightly. “of course. I’ve already ordered coffee, pancakes, toast and orange juice.” Haruki pulled the sheets aside, opening the suitcase on the floor. There was a huge bouquet of roses next to it. He picked it up and threw it to the closet. The girl giggled softly. “where did you buy them from?” she asked, walking towards Haruki and taking a seat next to him on the bed. “a friend” Haruki shrugged, then smiled at her. She stared at him, then blushed slightly and glanced away. They both ate their breakfast in silence, neither of them saying anything much. “well, i should go” Haruki said after eating most of his breakfast. “right now?” she wondered, surprised. He nodded. “i’ll see you later. Goodbye” he said. He gave her a small kiss on the cheek, then left the room.

He walked downstairs and put on a clean shirt. He grabbed his coatand headed for the door. When he reached the living room, he found Kimiko already awake. “hi” she greeted. “hello” Haruki answered in turn. He sat down on the couch, watching her as she sat down on a chair nearby. “how did you sleep last night?” she asked, grinning. “good” Haruki replied, smiling softly. “did you see anybody?” she asked curiously. Haruki shook his head. “no…” he lied. “oh. That’s great. Do you want some coffee?” she asked, getting up from the chair. “sure” he nodded, standing up. He followed her through to the kitchen. “here you go. I made a pot of hot black coffee. I hope that’s ok” she said, handing him a cup. He grinned at her and nodded happily. “thank you” he said.

She smiled. “so how long have you known each other?” she asked, sipping her coffee. “we met at school” Haruki replied. “when you were nine or ten years old?” she asked, tilting her head questioningly. “yes” he answered simply. “what grade?” she questioned, glancing at him. “third” he responded. “wow” she said, smiling softly. She finished her coffee and set her mug on the countertop. “would you like some more?” she offered. “no thanks” he responded, setting his own cup down. “I could bring another cup if you want” she suggested. “that won’t be necessary. Have a nice day” he stated. She nodded and headed back into the bedroom. Once she was gone, Haruki looked around the apartment, wondering where he could go to escape this place for a few hours. He decided to walk around town until lunchtime.

As soon as Haruki got off the bus, he realized where he was going. He walked along the beach, looking around at the beautiful ocean scenery. As soon as he reached the pier, he walked over to the end of the pier and stared out onto the ocean. Soon, a figure caught his eye. At first, Haruki thought it was just a gull, and ignored it. Then, it moved closer to him. Haruki frowned, not recognizing what kind of shape it was, or what it looked like. Suddenly it spoke. “hi” it said. “what are you doing?”Haruki asked, narrowing his eyes at the creature. The creature laughed, “haha! You really are stupid! Who do you take me for?!” it laughed. “I don’t know who you are, but I don’t care either” Haruki replied. “heh, well that’s rude” the creature whined. Haruki rolled his eyes. “why should I care about who you are? Are you lost or something? Or is your species extinct?” he asked, frowning deeply at the creature. “you should listen, because i am only gonna say this once. You’re gonna help me get rid of my sister. I need your help” the creature insisted. “I don’t understand. What do you mean by getting rid of your sister?” Haruki asked, curious. “you see, the girl has a boyfriend. One that you’re probably unaware of. She’s taken advantage of his kindness. But now we gotta deal with it. She needs to pay for what she has done. And we don’t have much time left” the creature answered. “what are you talking about? How much time is left?” Haruki asked, confused. “oh the end
