Chapter 3 – Best Friend Of The Year

Despite of the pain Gidz helped out and did his best to support his friend. “Gidz where are we going?” Rhyme was asking while his fixing his necktie. The four of them were walking and heading towards the Uni Conference Hall. Students were all busy looking for the club they will be joining. If you would look at the far left booth you would see the photography club “Your Alex is the President of the Photography Club. I think that’s where you need to sign up.” Dale looked at Gidz with full of excitement. He hugged him tight and ran towards the booth.

Gidz was right “You are really good with this Gidz.” Rhythm tapped his shoulder.

When they get there they found Alex right away. Alex noticed Dale and they started to talk. Gidz, Rhythm and Rhyme witness their progress “I gotta head out, ahhmmm – I need to meet the other representatives” Gidz said his excuse and walked out of the conference hall. Rhythm and Rhyme check out the other booth as they can’t decide yet where to go \(which club to choose\).

“How are you now?” Alex asked “I am way much better now, I didn’t know you are the president of this club.” He asked “Well, yeah… I happened to be their President just because.” She said while smiling “That must be great. You must be such responsible” Dale expresses his admiration “Oh no please! \(She laughs\) This is just a simple task for me. Wait until you meet my sister, she is the Campus President! Waaay much cooler” She handed a folder with the club details to Dale and flashed a charming smile.

They spend the entire day talking and checking out random things on the other booths. They ran a few shots as well for the photography booth asking Dale to be their model.

“We need few more volunteers and strike a pose as a model for our open gallery in Uni Night” said one of the club members. Rhythm and Rhyme went back to the photography booth and visited Dale. “Oh well, we have two good looking models here” says one of the gay members clinging onto Rhythm’s arm “My brother and I are not models. But, we can sure help!” said Rhyme.

The entire team of the photography club were busy running an impromptu pictorial for the Uni Event “I think we are good here Dale. Rhythm and I will be going out soon and grab something to eat.” said Rhyme. Alex walked towards their direction and thank them both “By the way here are my friends! Rhythm and Rhyme they both freshies from faculty of Business Marketing” they both paid respect and extended their hands for a handshake.

They were busy chatting and goofing around when the club members went wild “OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!” they said. “Alex, a guy is looking for Dale! Look! Look! Look!!” they grabbed her hand and show them the guy. Dale, Rhyme and Rhythm followed “Hi! I am Gidz from faculty of Engineering. I am looking for my friend \-\-\-“ just before he could give Dales name his friends already went out and went over to him “Hey! You handsome!!” said Rhyme “Alex he is our bestfriend Gidz” all four went out and chatted outside the booth.

Gidz handed a small envelope to Dale ”I got you a reservation for Sweet Café across the street. Take her with you” they all teases Dale and the excitement is really obvious on their faces “God! Gidz you are such a hero!” Dale hugged him again and thanked him for the nth time.

Dale asked her out and said it was his way of thanking her for saving his life. Somewhere along their conversation Alex mentioned “You know I kinda feel guilty with this. The real hero should be rewarded and not just the supporting role” Dale heard her but did not pay too much attention. He was busy savoring the moment with Alex.

Dale is falling harder with his hero…
