Second Chance At First Line

≡;- ꒰ °At The Lacrosse Field ꒱

୨⎯ "Third Per. POV" ⎯୧

Y/N sits on the lacrosse stands while thinking about what happened the previous night. It's now confirmed that Scott was a werewolf.   The girl is well aware that he is already suspicious of her. So right now, she's thinking about how she would tell her friends what she is.

After getting out of her thought, Y/N shifts her focus to see the game. She notices that Scott's pulse start rising at a rapid pace. "McCall's gonna do it again! McCall's gonna do it again!" Coach Finstock says.

Scott makes his way towards another player and glare at Jackson with a murderous look on his face. He positions himself and starts running toward Jackson, hitting him rough on his shoulder.

Stiles and Y/N quickly make their way to Scott. "I can't control it, guys. It's happening," Scott says breathlessly.

"Let's go," Y/N says, helping Scott stands up with Stiles on the other side. They make their way to the boy's locker room.

"Get away from me!" Scott shouts at his friends, his eyes have already changed their colour, and his fangs come out too.

Y/N eyes flash red colour before she drags Stiles away from Scott. She holds Scott from attacking Stiles with her superstrength. "Stiles, do something!" She shouts while still gripping the werewolf.

"Just give me a minute," The said boys mutters in panic. He looks around to find a fire extinguisher and holds it to Scott's way.

"Stiles, Y/N," Scott calls his friend's name. Stiles peak from the door to see Scott turns back to normal.

"Well, for the record. You tried to kill us," Y/N says, smiling while her eyes still flashing red like blood.

"And what are you?" Stiles asks, shocks expression clear on his face. "Doesn't matter. It's like we've told you before. It's the anger. It's your pulse rising. It's a trigger,"

"But that's lacrosse. It's a pretty violent game if you hadn't noticed."

"Well, it's gonna be a lot more violent if you end up killing someone on the field," Stiles says, a worried look written on his face.

"And that means you can't play this Saturday. You are gonna have to get out of the game," Y/N says, this time sitting beside Scott, startling both of her friends.

"But I'm first line," Scott looks at Stiles for help.

But the latter just shakes his head and says, "Not anymore."

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

After what happened at the boy's locker room, I drive my car to the old hale house. When I arrive, I start to call for Derek. The said guy comes out from the door and walks towards me.

"When I say you need to help my friend. I mean, help him. Not appear out of nowhere and tell him you guys are brothers now," I say, leaning against my car.

"Then, what am I supposed to do? Watch over him like I'm his babysitter," Derek says, an annoyed expression on his face.

"Nevermind. I'm here not to talk about him," I say, changing the atmosphere around us.

"I don't know who's the alpha yet," Derek responds, knowing that I'm going to talk about the alpha.

"Do you have any plans in mind?" I ask, curious as to what he's planning on searching the alpha.

"I have. But I'm not gonna tell you," Derek says, turning his back towards me and walking to his car.

"Whatever. I'll know it eventually," I get up and make my way to my car's door. "I already did that for years now."

Derek enters his car and quickly drive away from the old hale house. I shake my head and enter my car, making my way to my house.

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

I am walking out of the bathroom and ready myself to jump on my soft bed but lucks is not on my side today. I am just an inch from my bed but come to a stop by a notification from my laptop.

After a few seconds of war with myself, whether to choose the chair or the bed. I make my decision to go to the chair and plop myself down.

I open my laptop to be met by Stiles and Scott's face. "You guys better have a good fucking reason to call me at this time," I say, glaring at both guys.

They ignore my threat, and Scott asks, "What did you find out?"

"Well, it's bad. Jackson's got a separated shoulder," Stiles answers.

"Because of me?"

"Because he's a jackass, obviously," I say to assure the boy.

"But is he gonna play," the worried boy asks.

"Oh, they don't know yet," Stiles's camera starts to glitch a little. "Now, they're just counting on you this Saturday."

Stiles stop talking and stares at Scott as if he wants a better look at the latter surrounding. I see that Stiles start typing to tell Scott that there's someone in his room. But unfortunately, Stiles's connection is a little bit slow this time.

I sit in my chair and watch them, knowing that the person behind Scott is Derek. I'm 90% sure that Derek's not going to hurt Scott. The 10% are history. Then all of a sudden, Scott was pulled out from our sight.

"Did you just see what I see," Stiles says with his mouth open to show his shocks.

"Yes, Stiles. You're not crazy yet," I say.

"Yet? Yet! What do you mean by 'yet'. That's insulting," Stiles says, putting his hand on his chest to show that he's offended.

I fairly shrug my shoulders in response and end the call. I close my laptop then walks towards my beds, plopping myself down. I make myself comfortable and drift to my dreamland.

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

I walk through the halls that are full of student chatter and make my way to my locker. I see Scott and Stiles peaking at something and instantly knew it is about the curfew. How would I know? I have my ways obviously.

I put both of my hands on both of the boy's shoulders, startling them. Stiles have horrified looks on his face with his hand on his chest, "You almost give me a heart attack dammit. You need to stop sneaking on us like that."

"There's a curfew because of the dead body," Scott informs while looking at both me and Stiles.

"Unbelievable. My dad's out looking for a rabid animal while the jerkoff who actually killed the girl is just hanging out, doing whatever he wants."

"You can't exactly tell your dad the truth about Derek."

"Derek's not the killer, okay. I know he got a face like a murderer but he's not one, okay," I say while looking at both of my friends.

"But I can do something," Stiles insist, doesn't believe that I said Derek's not the murderer.

"Like what?" Scott asks.

"Like find the other half of the body," Stiles says with a serious look on his face.

"Are you kidding me?" Scott asks.

"I don't think so. No," I say looking at Scott. After I said those words, I start making my way to my next class.

≡;- ꒰ °At Stiles' House ꒱

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

I plop myself on Stiles' bed while he plops himself beside me. There's a silence for a moment before Stiles decide to speak, "I know what you are," I can sense some nervousness in his voice.

"I know," I say while turning myself to face him.

"Uh, what?"

"I said I know," This time, I say it slowly for him to understand.

"You're not gonna drink my blood and leave me to death, are you?" Stiles asks, his eyes widening a little.

"No, of course not," I chuckle. I can hear Stiles let out a relieved sigh, and I start laughing hysterically.

"It's not funny," Stiles says, his mouth performing into a pout and his arms crossed over his chest.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," I say.

"I have some questions, though," Stiles says, turning himself towards me.

"Shoots."

"You're a vampire, correct? So how can you're not burned by the sun?" Stiles says while curiosity fills his eyes.

"Did you see this ring?" I ask Stiles while showing the ring I wear on my middle finger. He nods and I continue, "It has Lapis Lazuli Stone that enchanted by a witch to give me protection so that way I'm not gonna get burnt by the sun."

"Witch exist too?" Stiles asks with his jaw-dropping in shocks.

"Of course. If vampires and werewolves exist, why not witches too," I chuckle at the expressions that Stiles made.

"Can you eat human food," Stiles asks.

"I can, but it doesn't give me energy like food does to humans or werewolves. I still need to drink blood to get my energy from," I say.

Stiles nods in understatement. He's about to ask another question before his phone rings, alerting him someone calls him.

Stiles picks up his phone and press the 'answer' button. After a few moments, Stiles end the phone call and drags me downstairs towards his jeep.

_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

When we arrive at Scott's house, Stiles quickly get out from his jeep and runs towards the house. I shake my head in amusement and get out from the jeep. I open the door's house and run fastly using my super-speed towards Scott's room.

"What did you find? How did you find it? Where did you find it? And yes, I've had a lot of Adderall. So...," Stiles panting while blinking his eyes a few times.

I lean against the door and chuckle slightly at his behaviour. "I found something at Derek Hale's," Scott says, looking at Stiles and me.

"Are you kidding? What?"

"There's something buried there. I could smell blood." Scott responds.

"That's awesome. I mean, that's terrible. Whose blood?" Stiles asks pretty excitedly if I tell.

"I don't know. But when we do, your dad nails Derek for the murder. And then you guys help me figure out how to play lacrosse without changing."

"Are you guys still don't believe me when I said Derek's not the murderer?" I groan and walk towards them.

"I could smell blood, okay. And there's no way I'm not playing that game," Scott throws his lacrosse stick on his bed and get out of his bedroom with Stiles.

"I'm gonna kill both of them someday," I mutter on my breath and get out of Scott's bedroom.

≡;- ꒰ °At Beacon Hills Hospital ꒱

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

We enter the beacon hills hospital for Scott to smell half the dead body. Why just Scott, you ask. Because I'm not gonna fucking sniff the dead body like a fucking dog. That's Scott's job, thank you very much.

Scott looks around before entering the morgue room. Stiles and I walk towards the hospital receptionist counter to wait for Scott. I see Stiles stop for a moment from the corner of my eyes. To see him looking at Lydia, who's sitting near the counter.

I watch Stiles as he makes his way to Lydia. I stifle my laugh and cover it with coughs when I see Stiles turn around to glare at me.

"Hey, Lydia. You probably don't remember me, um, I sit behind you in biology," Stiles stops for a moment when he sees Lydia looks like she's trying to remember. "Uh, anyway, I always thought that we just had this kind of connection. You know, unspoken, of course."

I decide to stop listening after that because I'm starting to feel second-hand embarrassment. I try to make my face as serious as possible, but on the inside, I'm dying of laughter.

When I don't hear Stiles's voice anymore, I turn around to see he's sitting on one of the chairs. I start walking towards him and sit beside him. There's a silence for a moment before I decide to break it with a low laugh and hit his arm many times.

"Stop laughing," I can hear a groan coming out from his mouth.

"I'm sorry, it's just that-. That was so-. I'm sorry," I try to stop myself from laughing when I see Stiles give me a judgmental look. "You can't judge me when you're the one who embarrasses yourself just now"

"Can you just forget about it," He crossed his arms in anger.

"I can't. Because I'm gonna use it to blackmail you," I say, a smirk forming on my face.

I can hear Stiles muttering some curses under his breath. I chuckle lightly and take out my phone to kill the time.

_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

After a few minutes of scrolling social media on my phone, I decided to stop and turn around to face Stiles, who looks at Lydia and Jackson.

When I see Stiles make a disgusted face at them, I start to laugh silently. Stiles turns around and glares at me. Suddenly Scott comes and takes the paper that Stiles hold.

"The scent was the same," Scott informs us.

"You sure?" Stiles stands up, and I follow his suit.

"Yes," Scott confirms.

"So he did bury the other half of the body on his property."

"Which means we have proof he killed the girl."

"But still, it doesn't mean he's the murderer when he buried the body on his own property. Doesn't seem too slick for a murderer to me," I place my hand on my hips. "If a killer does that, that means they're just giving themself to the police."

There was a silence for a brief moment. "Tell me something first, Scott," Stiles breaks the silence. "Are you doing this because you want to stop Derek or because you want to play in the game, and he said you couldn't?"

I know that Stiles makes his question towards Scott. But I'm 100% per cent sure it's the latter. "There were bite marks on the legs, Stiles. Bite marks," Scott responds.

"Okay. Then we're gonna need a shovel," Stiles says. They then make their way out of the hospital's entrance.

Did they just ignore my long-*** speech? Yes, they did. Does this make me want to kill them and make it like an accident? Yes, I do. I glare furiously at their back and follow their suit.

_________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

We get out from Stiles jeep, both guys with a shovel in their hand. "Wait, something's different."

"Different, how?" Stiles asks.

"I don't know," Scott respends.

"Maybe you're just nervous," I say to Scott.

"Yeah, maybe."

Scott and Stiles start to dig the area while I just lean against a tree, watching them. I'm lazy today, so I'm not gonna help them, and they ignore my speech at the hospital. So this count as fair to me.

"Don't you wanna help us here?" Stiles pants heavily.

"Well, let me think," I put my fingers against my chin. "What about no."

Stiles just groan and continue to dig. After 20 minutes, Scott breaks the silence, "This is taking way too long."

"Just keep digging," I say, this time sitting down on the dirt.

"Easy for you to say, you're not the one who does the work," Scott rolls his eyes.

"Well, if you guys didn't ignore what I said in the hospital. Maybe I'll be helping you guys right now," I shrug my shoulders.

"Stiles, what if he comes back?" Scott asks.

"Then we get the hell out of here," Stiles responds.

"And what if he catches us?" This time, I ask.

"I have a plan for that."

"Which is?"

"Scott runs straight away, Y/N runs sideway, and I run the other side. Whoever he catches first, too bad." Stiles says.

They continue digging until Stiles shove his shovel into something. I jump into the hole to look at what Stiles found. We found a knot, and Stiles try to untie it with Scott telling him to hurry up. I slap both their hands and untie the knot myself in seconds.

We open it to find the half body of the dead wolf. The three of us scream in shock and jump out of the hole.

"What the hell is that?" Stiles asks, trying to recover from the shock.

"Well, if you didn't know. That my friend, an animal called wolf," I respond, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I thought you said you smelled blood? As in human blood?" Stiles turns his head to Scott.

"I told you guys something was different," Scott answers.

"This doesn't make sense."

"We gotta get out of here."

"Yeah, okay, help me cover this up."

We then start to cover the wolf back when Stiles suddenly stop when he sees something. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"Do you guys see that flower?"

"Yeah, it's a wolfsbane," I respond to his question.

"What's that?" Scott asks.

Stiles and I give Scott a dumbfounded expression. Sometimes he's too stupid for his own good. Stiles then makes his way to the plant and pull it out. When I see it make a spiral around the wolf, I tell stiles to stop, "Stiles, I think you should stop. Let's just go."

But of course, like always, he ignores me and continues what's he doing. When Stiles is done pulling the rope, Scott calls him. When we see the hole, the wolf is replaced by the other half of the dead body.

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

I'm chilling in my room when suddenly my phone rings, indicating someone's calling me. I pick it up and press the 'answer' button.

"What do you want, Stiles. I already told you that I will not be there when they're arresting Derek."

"Scott's missing," Stiles says in a panic.

"Okay. Just tell me where you are right now. I'll be there."

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

Stiles and I are in his jeep searching for Scott. "Maybe he's with Allison right now. Don't you think?" I say casually. "You know, 'Cause he's a werewolf."

"And why's that?" He asks.

I just hand him the picture that I found in his jeep. There was a werewolf holding a girl.

"Maybe we should go home and wait for tomorrow," I suggest.

"Yeah, you're right," Stiles sigh and drive his jeep towards my house to send me home.

≡;- ꒰ °At Lacrosse Field ꒱

୨⎯ "Your POV" ⎯୧

I park my car in the parking lot and quickly get out. I jog towards the lacrosse field and sit beside Stiles. I know I'm not a player, but it's not like Coach Finstock can make me go away. He already gave up doing that a long time ago. Don't worry, he doesn't know that I'm a vampire.

"Nervous," I ask Stiles, who can't keep his leg still.

"Of course. There's so many 'What if' in my mind right now," Stiles says, this time fidgeting with his hands.

"If Scott decides to turn himself into a werewolf tonight. I'll just kick him until he knocks out or something," I shrug my shoulder.

"If you haven't noticed. Scott's pretty strong, you know," Stiles says in a matter of fact.

"If you haven't noticed. I've lived long enough to know someone's weaknesses with just one glance," I say.

"Thank you," Stiles smiles in appreciation. This time he's already stopped fidgeting with his hands.

We stop talking after that and shift our focus to the game. I notice that none of the players passes the ball to Scott. When Jackson scores the goal, everybody stands up to cheer for him.

I see that Scott turn his head towards the stand and look furious. I turn around to see Lydia and Allison holding a banner that writes 'We Luv U Jackson'. Well, this is where this game will get interesting. I smile to myself.

"Why are you smiling," Stiles says, turning his head to face me.

"Just that this game will get more interesting. Don't you think?" I say, smiling at Stiles.

"No. Shit will go downhill. And stop smiling. It's creeping me out," Stiles give me a weird look.

"Whatever," I say, ending the conversation between us.

When all the players take their position, I can hear Scott growling in anger. I'm sure that the person behind him is a little bit scared of Scott now. They never fail to amuse me somehow.

When the game start, Scott gets the ball, and you guess it, He scores the goal. Everyone stands up, cheering for him, including Stiles.

Scott receives the ball when the second game begins.  I can sense that he's starting to lose control.  I get up to prepare myself in case something terrible happens. Scott then gets a hold of himself, and he scores the goal. Everybody gets down from the stands to cheer for the winning team.

I see Scott run away from the field with Allison following from behind. I search for Stiles and drags him towards the school. He makes a sound of protest, but I just ignore him like he always did to me.

We enter the boy's locker room to see Scott and Allison kissing. Did I regret going here? Yes, I did. Stiles makes a disgusted face while I give them a judgmental look even though I know they didn't see me.

When they're done with their 'kissing'. Allison makes her way to get out. "Hi Stiles, Hi Y/N."

"Hey, yeah," Stiles greet her back while I just smile at her.

We make our way to Scott to see him smiling widely at us. "I kissed her."

"We definitely saw that. 'Cause last time I check, I'm not blind yet," I say sarcastically.

"She kissed me," Scott says, still smiling. Too happy to notice my sarcasm.

"We saw that too," Stiles responds. "It's pretty good, huh."

"I don't know how, but I controlled it, I pulled it back. Maybe I can do this. Maybe it's not that bad."

"Yeah, We'll talk later then," Stiles says, obviously proud of his friend.

Stiles turns away to get out before Scott stops him. "What?"

"The medical examiner looked at the other half of the body we found. Well, I'll keep it simple. Medical examiner determines killer of girl to be an animal, not human." Stiles explain.

"And that's mean, Derek let out of jail and gonna kill the both of you," I say while smiling at them.

"Are you guys kidding?"

"No, and here's a bigger kick in the ***. My dad ID'd the dead girl, both halves. Her name was Laura Hale."

"Hale?" Scott asks shocks at what Stiles told him just now.

"Oh my god. How can I didn't notice it before," I stop for a brief moment before continuing, "Derek's definitely gonna kill you two."

"Do you know her?" Stiles asks.

"I know the entire family of Hale, okay," I say frustratedly.

"We're sorry," Scott and Stiles say at the same time.

"The deed's already done. Let's just go home," I wave my hand and drag them towards the parking lot.
