“Hyung I-“ Namjoon started, eyes scanning the laptop as he frantically searched for a way to undo what Yoongi did by accident. “I really don’t know how to fix this... it’s never happened with me before.”
Yoongi brought his hands up to his head, hiding is face with one hand and pulling at his mint strands with the other. This was probably his worse nightmare.. it was possible even worse than that!
This couldn’t have happened right now... Every thing was going so damn well in his life! He was so satisfied with everything..
This could not possibly have happened.
“Damn It!” Yoongi exclaimed, kicking a chair close to him as he stopped pacing around for a bit, both hands going up to his mint locks in frustration.
“But don’t worry hyung! I’m sure we can figure something out... I have a friend, I’m sure he knows how to deal with this.” Namjoon rushed, suddenly concerned for his friend due to his outburst. “I’m pretty sure it’s all-“
“But what if it’s not!” Yoongi exclaimed, anger directed towards himself. “What if I never get the songs back! I worked damn hard for these and-“ Yoongi burst, “and if I don’t get these back, I don’t know if I can produce them again! My deadline is next week and- holy shit how will I manage to do it all over again?”
Namjoon sat there at the desk, suddenly feeling speechless at the elders outburst.
“What am I gonna do...” Yoongi whispered, crouched down on the floor, head in his hands as his frame slouched. “I’ve lost all my work.” He said, defeated. “Shit...”
“Hyung...” Namjoon worried, tension etched over his own features as he looked at his best friend, his older brother. “Go home, get some rest... trust me hyung everything’s going to be okay! I promise I’ll try my best to bring them back, just trust me with this.”
Yoongi rubbed his hands over his face, tears gathered at the edge of his eyes as he kept himself strong in front of his younger brother.
“Hyung please.” Namjoon walked over, resting his hand over the crouched down mans back, comfortingly rubbing circles. “Go home and rest.. I’ll take this to my friend right away! He’ll figure something out.. please.”
”Hey, is everything okay?” Suddenly, a soft and worried voice startled the pair. Yoongi looked up to see their eldest hyung standing at the door frame of their bedroom, still dressed in his pink and white plaid Pajama pants and a grey T-Shirt.
Yoongi nodded, standing up slowly as he whispered a soft sorry. He clapped his hands on the younger’s back as if to thank him and walked towards the door. Yoongi slipped on his shoes and coat, and walked out of the house without another word.
Seokjin walked towards Namjoon, the latter having his head hung low as he let out a deep sigh. The elder rested his hand on the distressed boys shoulder comforting him as he moved his head to plant a long, meaningful kiss to the others temple. Namjoon returned the favour with a soft smile, as he moved his way around the apartment ready to call the person he hoped could bring his hyungs hard work back.

Yoongi didn’t know what brought him here. His feet automatically made their way outside to the calm streets at the early hours of the morning.
Truthfully, he didn’t even know if the place would be open, however his feet brought him there subconsciously.
The bell chimed above his head as he entered the all too familiar place. The spicey aroma of cinnamon and the rich vanilla entered his nose, comforting him.
Jimin stood a few tables away, wiping at the table concentratedly, scrubbing it furiously.
The café was mostly empty, save for a few couples sharing midnight cravings and a group of boys, college students he assumed, drinking their coffees.
Yoongi silently walked across the café to seat himself at the back, shielding himself from speaking to anyone.
He just needed to be here. It calmed him somehow.
Yoongi sat there alone, for hours even maybe. He wanted to forget about the events that took place earlier that day but couldn’t get it out of his mind.
A tray was placed in front of him, as he sat lost in his thoughts. He stared at the mug of hot chocolate and the piece of red velvet cake, confusion etched on his features as he looked up to find the source.
There stood Jimin, looking down at Yoongi with a smile on his face. “Yoongi hyung, hi!” He said, taking a seat next to the mint haired, carefully.
Yoongi looked around, the café had emptied entirely. No body except the pair was in.
Yoongi looked up to the clock. The numbers 4:32 am blinked back at him as he realised, he’s been here for way too long.
“I don’t remember asking for-“ Yoongi started, suddenly embarrassed and shy since it was so late but Jimin cut him off, shaking his head.
“You looked like you needed it hyung!” He smiled at Yoongi and Yoongi managed a smile back that really looked more like a grimace.
“Thank you...” Yoongi replied, reaching to the hot chocolate and sipping out of it, just as Jimin brought his water bottle up to his lips and drank a big gulp out of it.
“No problem! I hope you like the cake! Baker noona taught me how to frost it today!” Jimin smiled, proud that he learned something new. “I frosted the cake with my own two hands and it ended up looking decent!”
“That sounds fun.” Yoongi smiled at the boy. “Do you- are you always working this late?” Yoongi hesitated, digging into the red velvet cake and eating the small bite, passing the plate to Jimin soon after so that he could share the cake.
“I’m covering up for a colleague today.” Jimin said, gladly slipping a bite into his mouth. “His mother’s in the hospital, something about a surgery.” He paused sipping his water. “Which means that I’ll have to work till 6 am, and then the next employee comes in.”
“You sure love your job, don’t you?” Yoongi smiled, he found it cute how Jimin was ready to help his fellow employees even if it meant that he lost his sleep and the comfort of his house at night.
“I enjoy it mostly..” Jimin replied, licking a bit of frosting off of his spoon, “I mean it’s a lot of effort and sometimes customers are rude and impatient...” he continued, cutting another piece of the cake, “plus with University and dance practice, it especially gets tiring.”
“But it pays well! And it’s worth the effort mostly. Like When a lovely old couple comes in and shares their love story with me, or when cute little kids smile at me and thank me for giving them their order, especially when the mint haired boy who hates coffee writes a cute note to me about how he “hopes we could be friends” or whatever.” Jimin joked, bumping his shoulder with Yoongi as a smile made its way to the mint-haired boys face.
“You wrote me the note first!” Yoongi fought, bumping his knee with the other playfully.
“Mhm sure did” Jimin rolled his eyes playfully, soon after noticing the stiffness in Yoongi’s posture and how his eyes were set on the table.
“Hyung...” Jimin worried, “is-is everything okay?” He inquired, eyes set on the elders face. “I mean- if asking you is fine.”
“It’s okay. I’m fine.” Yoongi replied, sunken posture and sulky voice telling Jimin that he’s just about the opposite of ‘fine’.
“It’s work... It gets stressful and I messed something up and now... I don’t know what to do..” Yoongi said, slowly opening up a little to the pink haired boy in front of him.
“I’m sure it will pass...” Jimin said, trying to comfort Yoongi a little. “Hyung where do you work again?”
“I’m a music producer.” Yoongi told the boy, as the boys eyes widened to the size of saucers. “I work with big-hit entertainment, in a production group called Cypher.”
“W-wow...” Jimin whispered, “that’s so cool hyung! You’re so cool!”
Yoongi smiled a bit, one that didn’t reach his eyes but just graced his lips gently. Yoongi spoke to the boy many times, held countless conversations such that he could now call Jimin a ‘friend’. But this what the first time he spoke about his work to the boy, and ironically so, he messed up the same day.
“It is, isn’t it?” Yoongi replied, “but as cool as it is, it’s even more difficult to catch up with everyone else.. I messed up today, deleted my tracks by mistake and now, I don’t even know if I can get them back...”
“Oh...” Jimin said, looking at Yoongi with admiration still, “hyung, you work so hard... it’s okay to make mistakes once in a while, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, But not a mistake as big as this! It takes hard work and a lot of patience to create an album! And just a wrong button clicked deleted it all!”
Silence spread around the empty café as soon as Yoongi stopped talking. The air was thick and Yoongi thought that perhaps this is the second time he messed up today.
But soon enough, Jimin broke the silence.
Jimin spoke up. “I think because you work hard you’ll get great results… I mean you like your job too... my mom used to tell me, that when a person enjoys what they’re doing and works hard to achieve their goals, they always get the reward for it. Aren’t you excited for the reward after the struggle?” Jimin beamed at Yoongi, a smile too bright and eyes too beautiful for Yoongi.
“Life brings many tests, hyung. You just have to keep going on! Never give up.”
Yoongi looked at the younger boy fondly, as he placed his small hand on the mint haired boys knee to comfort him. The boys smile filled Yoongi with burning passion and hope.
“You’ll see, it’ll be fine.”
And just then, Yoongi’s phone rang in his pocket, a high pitched wail shrilling across the empty café.
Yoongi pulled his phone out in an instant. The caller ID read “joon” and worry spread in his chest as he wondered why the boy would call him so late, meanwhile completely forgetting that he asked the boy a favour just a few hours back…
“Hello Joon? Everything okay? Why’re you calling so late??” Yoongi rushed In.
“Hyung!” Namjoon exclaimed, excitement not being hidden in his tone, which calmed Yoongi down a bit. “Hyung you won’t believe this!”
“What?! Quickly, you’re scaring me.” Yoongi worried.
“My friend fixed your problem! Oh hyung, I’m so relieved, oh god! 7 tracks, were they? They’re all back! He brought them back somehow!” Namjoon exclaimed, happiness radiating onto Yoongi by his tone. “Are you at home right now? Did you go back safe? Can you meet me?? Please hyung I want to make sure everything’s fine and, oh god! Its all back!!”
Yoongi stood there, silent and shocked. Jimin noticed his stiffened posture and brought a hand to his back. “Hyung is everything ok?” He softly asked, barely caressing the small of his back.
Yoongi woke up from his daze, slightly nodding. “Namjoon where can I meet you?” He started, happiness bubbling up slowly inside of him.
“I’ll be at your house in 10! I’m driving, I’ll call you later.”
And with that, Namjoon declined the call.
Yoongi stood in the café, breathing out a huff of relief. He closed his eyes, bringing his other hand up to ruffle his hair, in attempt to ease his tension.
And when he looked to his side, he was met with an angelic Jimin. Wide eyes staring at the man with confusion and worry etched on his face.
Yoongi felt a wave of emotions hit him all of a sudden. He felt victorious almost, like he had won over the world and Jimin was his reward.
And yoongi didn’t know why he did it... or even if he was thinking straight at that moment.
But just a few moments later Yoongi pushed himself forward, wrapping his arms around the pink haired boys small shoulders, squeezing the boy.
Relief flooded through him, happiness soon taking over his tension.
“Thank you...” he whispered, voice small but loud enough for Jimin to listen. And soon he felt Jimins small and chubby hands caressing his back, touch gentle and comforting.
Yoongi pulled away a few moments later, remembering that Namjoon would be there any moment at his place, and with that thought Yoongi started collecting his valuables so that he could leave soon.
“I’ll see you soon.” He told Jimin with a small smile, and Jimin smiled back, looking conflicted a bit. “I’ll have to run now, my friend will be home soon and I don’t want him waiting out in the cold..”
And Jimin looked a little troubled, Yoongi wanted to ask the pink haired boy what the matter was, and he would have asked if he wasn’t in such a hurry.
“Bye hyung!” Jimin told Yoongi with a smile, and Yoongi replied with a whispered “bye.”
Yoongi exited the café, the cold air nipping at the tip of his nose almost instantly as he tried to make his way across the road.
The man speed walked home, smile on his face, grateful for his little brother Namjoon.
But very soon he stopped in his tracks, startled, turning his head back at such a speed he was surprised he hadn’t gotten a whiplash.
“Hyung!” Jimin exclaimed, jacket less in the cold Weather, his white T-Shirt, khaki shorts and his maroon apron from work the only clothes saving him from freezing out in the cold.
The boy looked desperate almost, and Yoongi suddenly got concerned about why he was so worked up.
Looking both sides for a brief second, the pink haired boy ran across the road to meet with the older boy. And soon, breathless, he reached the mint haired boy.
“I was-“ he started, unsure. “I-“
Jimin took a big breath in, and yoongi was starting to get restless.
“Yes, Jimin?” He urged, pushing his hands into his pockets to seek for warmth and comfort.
“Hey- uh- hyung!” Jimin started. “Could you give me your number? Like- I don’t know- maybe if you wanna hangout again? Maybe somewhere out of the coffee shop? I don’t know-“ pink spread on the small boys cheeks and the tips of his ears and yoongi was sure that it wasn’t only because it was so cold outside. “I- it sounds stupid! Never mind please carry on-“
“Sure!” Yoongi exclaimed, cutting the rambling boy off, huge smile etched on his face.
And yoongi hadn’t smiled so hard and so big in a long time. A big and a genuine smile that his grandma loved about him as a boy.
Yoongi was genuinely happy, because later that morning when he sent Namjoon to sleep in his bed as if to silently thank him, he picked up his phone to see a new notification waiting for him.
