Episode 4

Adriel:

After my transformation, we spent more time together as a family. The downside of the past is that I saw this as a waste of time; the upside of knowing what I missed is that now I realize there are many things far more important than anything else.

Like my family. Losing my parents and watching them die before my eyes without being able to do anything is painful. Losing my children is a living agony.

After that, I went to bed. Tomorrow I need to see my little one. Uncle Lucas will probably be there too, and I want to take the opportunity to talk to him.

I wake up, as every morning, afraid that this might all be just a dream and I'll wake up to the harsh truth.

But still, I wake up and see my old furniture, my hands - yet the pain in my chest is still there.

I get up and...

John: Buddy, are you ready? We're running late.

Adriel: Late? For what?

John: What do you mean for what? Sure, you're going to be the alpha, but we still have to study. Hurry up, if we're late the professor won't let us in.

Then it dawns on me:

University.

Darn it, going back to the past also means I have to go back to school. Lucky for me, I already know everything I need to know, but now it's going to be even more tedious.

No choice, I take a shower and get out, ready to head to classes. Before, I'd stave off boredom with any girl, human or wolf, who gave me the chance, but not anymore. I'm going to stay chaste and pure for my Kevin.

I had breakfast with my family.

Upon arriving at the university, a flood of memories rush back. Back then, studying didn't matter much to me, but it was a requirement for inheriting father’s estate.

Classes are as dull as ever, but this time I stayed attentive. As usual, there were some who didn't miss the chance to throw themselves at me, but this time I ignored them.

In the afternoon, walking past the mall, I remembered that yesterday I hadn't bought anything for my little one after he left and then I did the same.

Adriel: John, we need to stop by the mall. Yesterday with Leonardo, I didn't get a gift for my little one.

John: Don't you think you're getting too close to that boy?

He looks at me expectantly, searching for something in my gaze.

Link:

Adriel: I think we're going to have to tell him.

Dark: Yes, we'll need to; besides, everyone would suspect something.

Adriel: Buddy, I’m going to show you something, but keep an open mind.

He nods and I begin to relax, letting him enter my mind and read my thoughts. This is good because he can see what I've seen or heard through mental transference. Normally a wolf can hear the thoughts of someone from their clan if they're linked, alphas make a pact with the pack and in this way, they can hear all the thoughts of the pack—as long as they allow them in their minds or bind them. But with mental transference, he can see images that only I remember or have heard, like a science fiction movie, I let him into my mind.

I start to show him images of our parties and outings, our drunken adventures. I also show him the day I met Kevin, without letting him see the images of my omega asleep or naked. I show him how I hid that he was my mate and got him pregnant so he wouldn't leave my side, how I lost him, the great suffering I endured losing him, and how everything ended—his death, the death of my pups and my family, and how I went back to the past.

John: Damn bastard.

That's the first thing I hear from him, followed by a punch.

Adriel: Hell, that hurts.

John: You're a son of a bitch, you know that?

Adriel: Back where I come from, I was an alpha.

John: Well, you're not one here yet and until you are, I'll keep treating you like this. You're an idiot, you know.

Adriel: Yeah, I know, but now I plan to make things right, and you're going to help me.

John: And what's in it for me?

Adriel: Having your mate at 18 instead of 32 like last time. Nia is Leonardo's sister.

John: How did I not see that?

Adriel: Who knows, maybe because we were never at the pack and always out partying?

John: You think?

Adriel: I believe so.

John: And what you gonna do about Leonardo? From what I saw, he doesn't like you at all.

Adriel: That's why I plan to behave well to score points with my brother-in-law and this time I'll be close to my little one.

John: And what about Ravena and King Rasad?

Adriel: I don't know, but I have to ask for King Lucas's help.

John: Well, then I have to buy four bouquets of flowers.

Adriel: And why so many?

John: One of red and white roses for my love, and three of other flowers for my sisters-in-law and my father-in-law William. I have to charm him to become his favorite son-in-law.

Adriel: Alright, then I have to do the same. Let's go.

We head out to the mall for the gifts. I'm not sure what toys my little one likes, but I got him a huge stuffed animal.

Plus, I had an ace up my sleeve, I also had to win over my father-in-law Stefano, that old man is a real pain, but it's necessary.

We arrive at the mansion.

Mike: Son, what's with all those gifts?

Adriel: Well, you see Dad, today's Leonardo's little brother's birthday, and I plan to go.

Mike: Ok son, just don't come back late, ok!

I nod and proceed to get dressed. Before leaving, I sneak into my father's study. He has a secret room there where he hides his treasures, one of them being 5 bottles of whiskey he cherishes like gold. I reckon if I steal one, he won't notice.

I enter and grab the whiskey bottle, but as I turn around, there stands my father.

Crap!! Now what do I say.
