Lucas POV

I was about to sleep when I heard the lady the brought in screaming. I immediately go to my room and embraced her. She keeps calling her mom, "Mom please don't go I am so scared". She keeps on saying those words.

"Shush, your mom may not be here but I am here okay? I will not let bad things happen to you". I told her. She keeps on kicking her feet and a few minutes she calmed down and slowly opened her eyes.

"Where am I?" the lady asked.

"Who are you?" she began shaking again.

"Please don't be afraid. I will explain it to you okay? I saw you sleeping in the park. I brought you in because it's already dark and I guess you have no plan on going home".

The lady were embarrassed after knowing the reason why she was in his place.

"I am very sorry. You helped me yet I was very ungrateful towards you. Don't worry I'll go home right now".

I cannot let her go at this hour, I'm afraid something bad might happen to her on her way home.

"It's alright, you can stay here and go back home tomorrow daytime. I can't let you walk on your own at this hour".

"Okay" the lady responded.

"Can you please turn the lights on? I'm afraid of dark"

"I'm afraid you'll be disgusted by my face" Lucas said it bitterly.

"Why would I be? Whatever your face looks like doesn't matter, what matters the most is that you have a kind heart".

I couldn't help myself but to gush over as to what this lady said. "I've never heard anyone told me that, you're the first" the lady giggled. "Please turn it on now."

Lucas followed Selene's order and turned on the lights, he slowly turned his head towards her and let her see his bare face. She was so shocked at first, her eyes looks pity on him, that's what Lucas doesn't want others to show him.

"Don't look at me that way, I hate it". He told her.

"I am sorry, I didn't mean it that way" she lowered her head down.

"Just as what I expected" he stated sadly.

Lucas was about to stand up when he was held by the lady in the hand.

"Where are you going? Are you mad at me for looking at you that way?" the lady stated.

"I-I thought you're scared of me"

"No, I am not, why would I?"

She then rested her back to the headboard to clearly see the man's face and touched his scars.

"Does it hurt?" she asked.

Lucas was taken aback as to what the lady was doing. He feels his face is bloody red. It was the first time, someone looked him straight to his face and even touched his face!

"May I ask why did this happen?" while still holding his face.

"Why aren't you talking? Are you okay?" she then hold his forehead to see if he's having a fever.

"Hey! Are you okay?"

Lucas regain his senses.

"Y-yes I am, I am very sorry if I zoned out. I will leave you here so that you can have a good rest."

He got up and when he almost reach the door knob. The lady told him, "Can you not leave me here please?" when he turned around, he can see that the lady was about to cry again.

He panicked and he immidiately goes to her. "Hey, please stop crying you're worrying me". "Okay I will not cry anymore".

He joined the lady on the bed and to his surprise, the lady pulls him closer. "Please stay this close to me. I don't know why but I love your scent". He didn't know why but he pulled her tight.

"Sleep now okay?"

"Mmhm"

"Before I close my eyes, may I know your name mister?"

"I am Lucas, Lucas Deligero"

"How about you?"

"Me? I am nobody"

"Get your jokes better next time"

"Pfft, My name is Selene, Selene Montessori"

"Your name suits you, Selene"

"Yours too, Lu"

He then slight hit her forehead.

"Now, sleep"

"Mmhm, you too"

He watched her fall asleep and kissed her forehead. "You have no idea who I am psh this girl". He slightly brush her hair and made sure she's comfortable in her position.

"Now that I am sure of what I feel for you, I will never let you go no matter what".
