"Lock Miguel in the cave until I am back on my feet. See to it, though, he doesn't die until I've recovered... I desire to handle him myself..."

"Lawrence, Miki has left the mansion; moments ago he was seen departing. The guard reports he didn’t take his car..."

I clenched my jaw; I hadn't expected Miguel to act so swiftly in escaping me..

"Find Miguel, I want him alive within the hour!..."

Santiago turned on his heel to execute the command I had just issued... However, before exiting, he left the documents he carried next to my bed.

"Lawrence, I'm convinced Miguel is now far beyond our grasp... But you must see what I’ve uncovered... Hours ago they found the bodies of the two men who shot you, and what their mobiles revealed will leave you stunned."

I lifted my hand, signaling Santiago to depart. Alone was how I wished to be now; Miguel's betrayal struck profoundly—it felt like the treachery of a brother. And he's nothing but a damned traitor.
