Only a few seconds passed when I clenched my hand with fury, Miki's words still ringing in my mind.

It's clear that I can't let Marcela go, that damn woman is getting into my mind like a plague.

She's mine, no matter that she's carrying another man's child. I don't care that she's pregnant with that guy Cesar.

Matias approached me to help me from falling. Matias is the man who has worked for my family for many years.

He is a loyal man who has never let me down, he is the second person for whom I would put my hands in the fire.

"Help me get to that room," I replied, nodding towards Marcela's room.

"Sir, Lawrence. It's very risky that you got out of bed."

Immediately, Matias helped me get to my Angel's room. Upon entering, it was completely dark, not a single sign that anyone had been taking care of my Angel.

Only the moonlight illuminated the dark room a little, it was such a beautiful scene. The moonlight shining through the window illuminated my Angel's beauty.

I gently stroked her face, even though her eyes were closed, she looked beautiful, a true Angel.

"Sir, I'll leave you here while I go get the jug of water,..." Matias said, helping me sit down in the armchair near Marcela's bed.

My father was clear in saying that he was going to make me a man without weaknesses. Weaknesses make you weak, especially when love exists in a world like the mafia.

Every person you love becomes a weakness for you. That was one of the reasons my father sent me away, hoping I wouldn't be a weak man.

While driving on the road, I saw the blue car in front of mine at maximum speed. For a moment, I thought it was an ambush against me, but what happened next left me stunned.

The car flipped several times in the air, I stopped my car and got out with a gun in my hands. I walked slowly towards the blue car.

In the middle of the road was a woman covered in blood. I passed by her side. I turned the car over and looked at the dead man inside.

The strong smell of gasoline guided me, the car would soon burst into flames. As I was about to walk away, I heard a voice from the backseat.

I peered through the car window, there she was, covered in her own blood, my Angel fighting to get out of the car that was about to be engulfed in flames.

I tried to open the door to help her escape the inferno that was about to consume that car, but my efforts were futile.

The door was stuck on something, so I took my gun from the back of my waist and shot once at the window.

Immediately, I opened the door, grabbing my Angel's hand. I tried to pull her towards me, but her foot was stuck with the front seat.

The car began to catch fire, time was running out. If I didn't get my Angel out of there in less than a minute, she and I would be in hell.

I entered the car, risking my own life. I released her foot from the front seat and pulled her towards me with strength.

I managed to save my Angel before the car caught fire. From a short distance, the car burned in flames, and I could only cover my Angel with my body.

If it wasn't for me shielding her, her beautiful face would have been disfigured by the flames. I remember losing consciousness, and when I woke up, I was in my father's clinic room.

I was lying down, a strong pain behind my back torturing me, and I could feel my father's furious gaze, trying to kill me.

"You're reckless, Lawrence! How could you risk your life for a nine-year-old girl?!" my father exclaimed that night.

He was furious, but my mind was only filled with the image of my Angel. After that day, my father only waited for me to recover to send me back abroad, so that no one would know that I had risked my life to save my Angel.

Now I understand why from the moment I first saw her, I felt that she was mine.
