CHAPTER 1(A Voice)

"Honey wake up" a soft voice whispered onto my ear, a scent of lavender lingered around my room. I quickly open my eyes but there is no one at my room.

"Who are you " my voice echoes onto the walls while I asked myself look very confused, I just shrugged it off and get ready for work.

Before I could even step out of my front door I heard the same voice saying "be careful", so terrified I rushed to the bus stop full speed.

Huff..huff...huff...huff...

"I think my house is haunted". Matthew jokingly said to the pole while sitting at the sidewalk, exhausted. He stood up and went in the but and go to work.

"Yo, Matty you looked pretty exhausted early in the morning" as Alex approaches me.

"I missed the bus" I said and if I ever told him that my house is haunted he surely will just make fun of me..

Matthew continued the day like nothing happened.

I got home before 7 pm, a familiar scent welcomed me home. Lavender?.

(keys rumbling sound) Matthew's body stopped when he heard "welcome home, dear" the same voice!. He feel shiver down his spine.

Matthew quickly put down his bag and took a shower before he goes to bed.

Matthew laying down in his bed staring at his ceiling, "I can't sleep" "Should I moved out?" he asked himself.

A lovely humming disembodied voice echoed all over his quiet room and eventually Matthew fall into a deep sleep.

"There is a woman with blurry face." he murmured. The woman keep coming nearer and nearer to Matthew.

Scared. Matthew trip over a branch, as soon as he blinked the woman with a blurry face was in front of him.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Matthew shouted at the top of his lungs, so terrified.

The woman reached her delicate hand to help Matthew up.

"Who are you?" Matthew asked. No response, again "Who are you?!" no response. Every time he asked something the woman stopped walking.

The only words I heard coming from her mouth are; "Wake up honey!'..

Ring...ring....ring...

I woke up to a deafening sound of my alarm clock. Matthew look at his calendar, it's Saturday. "I promised Alex to hang out with him."

Matthew get dressed and go to meet Alex at a local cafe few blocks from his apartment complex.

(Loud traffic noises)

"Can I come?" Matthew look back to find where that voice was. It's was the same soft voice. "You can." Matthew whispered to the wind and a hint of lavender scent blows up to his nose.

Cling...cling...(cafe door bell)

"Hey, Alex".

They chatted and chatted until they drink up all of their coffee.

"Matthew, is something bothering you these past few weeks?" Alex asked Matthew out of nowhere.

Matthew's face darken up, and become silent .

I've known Alex since we were in highschool, he never called me Matthew unless there is something serious.

"No, no, I must have been exhausted." Sure that was a complete lie but surprisingly Alex believe it and went in our separate ways

"You lied to him",

'I know" Matthew responded.

Somehow Matthew get used to the disembodied voice and started talking to it...
