Chapter 3: The Artist's Studio
As the team entered the abandoned studio of the mad artist, they were immediately struck by the musty smell of mildew and age. Cobwebs draped the corners of the room, and the windows were covered in grime, letting in only a sliver of light.
"Armin, Examine the painting once again. Leah, you should accompany Armin." Chris said as Jennifer and Viktor made their way inside.
"We'll get to work right away." Armin said as Leah nodded in agreement to his words as they walked over to the painting.
Chris looked behind him and entered the abandoned studio.
"This place gives me the creeps," Jennifer said, as she pulled out her flashlight.
"We have to be careful," Chris said, as he led the way. "We don't know what kind of traps or booby-traps the artist might have left behind."
The team split up, each taking a different room to search. Viktor found a dusty old journal in a back room, filled with the artist's crazed ramblings and sketches of the girl in the painting. Jennifer discovered a locked chest, which she managed to open with a hairpin. Inside, she found a stack of letters, written by the artist to the girl in the painting.
On the other side, Armin and Leah examined the painting, and found out that the painter of the painting was a man named "Rupert Stone". There was a small letter attached in the back of the painting, Leah carefully removed the letter from the painting, which had been glued shut to it.
"Armin, come here, i found something" Leah said as she began to read the letter out loud.
"Guys, you have to see this," Jennifer called out, as she began to read the letters out loud.
The letters revealed that the artist had been in love with the girl, and had painted her over and over again in the hopes of capturing her essence. But the girl had rejected him, and he had become increasingly obsessed and delusional. He had believed that the painting was cursed, and that the girl was trapped inside it, suffering.
The team spent the next few hours discussing what they had found and trying to make sense of it all. They knew that the painting and the artist's obsession with it was key to understanding the curse and finding a way to break it.
Chris suggested they take a break and regroup, they all agreed and they decided to leave the studio and come back in the morning when they are fresh. They headed back to their base, where they spent the evening pouring over the journal and letters, trying to find any clues that could help them unravel the mystery of the curse.
The next day, they returned to the studio and resumed their search. They found more clues and evidence, including a hidden message in the painting's frame and a key hidden in a secret compartment in the studio. They realized that the artist had left a trail of clues, leading to the solution to the curse.
The team followed the clues, but progress was slow as they were being cautious and double checking every information they got. They traveled to the locations indicated in the clues, and after days of investigation, they finally discovered the solution to the curse.
The curse was broken and the painting was destroyed, but the team knew that the story was far from over. They knew that the painting's curse was just a symptom of a deeper problem, and that they had to keep investigating to get to the bottom of it.
