chapter 04- fundraising

There are many secrets in this world I didn't I didn't tell the club members about the budget, it seems the universe doesn't allow it, After my talk with the student council president I avoided the topic as much as possible but to My bad luck couldn't help it anymore, I went to the music club room and when several pairs of eyes looked at me angrily as if they were going to wrap me up and offer me as food for crocodiles.I was horrified! "Hello" I greeted while smiling but no one answered, one of them narrowed his eyes at me, I was feeling nervous right now."sit here" said pat the drummer asking me to sit in the middle of them."You already know?"I asked quietly, come on, it's a music club, not a Buddhist club, this situation is making me nervous."I've been meaning to tell you since the council announced it," I replied."The president of the club of documents came in and mocked that the music club had got a budget of two thousand Baht" pat replied "I can't believe it" said the guitarist in a sad tone. "Well I can't believe it either but that's all I could get" I even tried to negotiate to avoid fights but to no avail, it was all the fault of that dark hearted bastard "Now what do we do?" Pat asked. while he addressed the other members to ask their opinion, they were all silent without being able to think of anything for now, I as president of the club replacing the one who was in France I proposed something that I've been thinking since i came out of the students council "we need to do a fundraiser" "Mmmmm?" Everyone in the room frowned so I tried to explain my proposal to them "when the assigned money isn't enough we have to get more"... "How?" Questioned pat looking at me in the eyes. "Well we can play in a bar or participate in band concerts"..... "That sounds good I'm in " he said while asserting with his head making the others also agree but to be honest we didn't have many options and this is probably the best option "So what's the plan" asked sound who had been sitting in silent the whole time "we have 20 members we will divide each other into 2 groups one team will give concerts in bars the other team will be in charge of contests" i explain with a serious tone "Who agrees?" I asked the others everyone raised their hand i was so good i wanted to cry at least my suggestion was useful it was bad to negotiate with the president of the students council till the point that my words were useless. "So....." I thought of everyone before discussing the method the first thing we did is raffle the groups the members that were part of the 1st group had to find a bar or a place were they could play live music since this night while the 2nd group had to find contests we're they could participate the members in the 1st group were so good i could stay calm but i found myself in the 2nd group and find a contest in such a short notice it was mainly impossible "i wanna pass out!" "P'gun this contest seems interesting said on of the first year students while showing the screen of his iphone youth band contests interesting but it was too far away in Khong Kaen we wouldn't have enough time to reunite also their is a lot of other stuff to do. "I think this other contest is also interesting" said another student showing his phone's screen so we can all see. Phattasima Luk Nimit Festival Folk Music Competition "how have we gotten to this point ? Now we're interesting in events for the wat phidtong temple?" "are you sure brother" the first year students asked seeing that i was looking for more information about the contest as the vocalist i tought i wanted to Khs but i couldn't back down we were running out of options. "The show must go on!"

"We have gotten this far we have to countinue" i tried to cheer up the members that came with me to the event after seeing how depressed they were "true" "let's go guys let's take advantage of this opportunity i said while making a joyful face and went up to the stage all together. Pi band is more known for playing genres like pop,pop rock,etc nothing compared to this contest of folk music but we were desperate to obtain money so we will do the impossible to raise it and keep our club open. For this contest we did some changes to a song of silly fools a modern Thailand rock band in the beginning i was a little nervous but when we started playing the new changes to the song we could see the public under the stage dancing along with us by seeing that i can't help but to smile i took this opportunity as an avatange to show my best dance moves also letting myself go by the music. After the contest ended and who would believe that we won 2nd place we also won a prize of 10 000 Bhat, five times more than the Budget the student council gave us even though it wasn't our genre of music it was nice to see people enjoy and have fun even had fun with us and eventough we weren't winners a lot of people wouldn't let us get off the stage waiting for us to play more music they even had to help us get off the stage to avoid disturbing people "it was a brutal experience!" Before leaving the judge invited us to take a commemorative photo he even said he will give is a framed photo to hang at our house "everyone smile" said the head judge before taking the photoi turned back to see the others members i gave a thumbs up showing them a huge smile letting them know i was proud of our achievement i turned back and looked at the camera and i countinued smiling i couldn't help but to be so happy.
