Episode One: Misfortune

Nina's POV-

My heart is beating rapidly and my breathing is the only sound I can hear; the people walking on the lonely streets have faded into air and I no longer remember my destination. I am only running meaningless.

A narrow, dark valley engulfs me as I settle my down to my knees.

Crystal diamonds drop to the floor, turned into nothing.

I am nothing.

Whatever did I do to deserve this? It was all wrong from the beginning, everything was only their plan.

They had helped me in paying my school fees, rental charges, we had fun in the amusement parks, we stood up for each other and cared like real sisters. Did they not once feel something for me? Did they not once think of backing out from their pretence?

Are they feeling happy after all this? Are they regretting?

I cry my heart.

All and everything I felt for them meant nothing but a burden in their eyes. I was a burden, their source of misery.

Suddenly, I heard loud bangs and footsteps.

What seemed like a man's hoarse panting.

Perhaps he had been running for too long due and oxygen was completely replaced with lactic acid in his lungs. 'He needs to catch his breath.'

I can't see his face because of the darkness and I assume he can't see mine either.

I jolt when he pounces on me and rips my clothes, "Hey! What are you doing?" I yell.

However, he ignores. "Stop! Please, stop!" I plead for his attention but he ravages through my inoccence.

He groan and snarls, "Shut up!"

My already red eyes start watering and I let the tears flow like a river. "Ple-please... Heuk! Please, don't do this... let me go."

For some reason my body was feeling hot and all energy had drained my body, I couldn't even open my eyes. I felt exhausted.

He barks, "What! Stop?"

His hysterical laughter echoes in the abandoned valley.

"... You are the one who called upon this trouble and now you're playing hard to get? And.. This..." He leaned closer and sniffed me.

".... And this obscene poison (1) that you have drank."

'Posion? What poison is he talking about?' I was bewildered by his comment.

The night was long and dark. Today, not only did I lose my most trusted and beloved friends but I also lost what was so dear, precious, what held so much emotional attachment for me, what I kept so safe for my 18 years of life.

My purity.

I don't know when my eyes had closed but perhaps it was good because I no longer felt any pain, I became numb....

'Where is this? Wasn't I in the...? How did I...?

When I woke up, my eyes were welcomed by a bright white room, I could hear beeping machines, drips from my hands, disinfectant smell, and when I looked around there were other beds whilst I was dressed in a plain blue dress.

Everything told me I was in a hospital.

But, how?!

A beautiful lady walked into the room and flashed a smile, "Oh! Thank Goodness, your awake."
