Episode 14

...The story takes a small twist by being narrated by a Narrator, rather than the main characters. I hope this small change doesn't affect the story....

Aria helped Diana up to her bedroom, and the girl had a very strange look in her eyes. Her fragile body continued trembling.

Perhaps it was due to all the adrenaline she had just experienced. Edwin had tried to suffocate her with his own hands, something Diana had never expected from him.

The real reason why Diana was astonished was not because she was going to marry Edwin the next day, but because she had dared to confess to Edwin that she wasn't Emma but Diana.

Perhaps Edwin didn't believe her words, as Emma was capable of saying anything to get her way. But what Diana did manage to do was plant the seed of doubt in his heart.

Diana's gaze was very different from Emma's wicked gaze. Edwin also realized that that same gaze belonged to the woman he had slept with a year ago.

Diana was afraid that her parents would find out what she had done. It had never been Diana's intention to confess to Edwin that she was Diana, not until after they were married.

But Diana couldn't bear seeing the man in front of her willing to kill her with his own hands just because she resembled the person who had hurt him so much.

Upon reaching the room, Aria slowly closed the door behind the two of them, her eyes filled with concern. She helped Diana sit on the hard and uncomfortable bed where Diana slept every night.

"My daughter, why did that demon try to strangle you?"

Diana didn't answer Aria's question. She just let herself fall back, her body trembling slightly, her gaze so strange that it frightened Aria.

"I confessed to him that I'm not Emma, but Diana." The words that came out of Diana's lips caused Aria to cover her mouth in concern.

"Diana, do you realize what you've done?"

"If that man dares to tell your parents that they have lied to him and that you are not Emma as he believes, Sara's fate will be very miserable." Aria mentioned, moving back from Diana's side.

Diana stood up from the bed, everything in her head was so confusing and miserable. For years, she had lived being humiliated by her own family, and now she had to endure humiliation by a man she knew nothing about.

And the worst part was that there was a possibility that this man could be the father of the baby she had given birth to.

Diana walked to the small window in front of her. Unlike the other rooms with their huge windows and beautiful garden views, Diana's room was very different.

It had only a small window through which a little light could enter. It was also the most humble room that could be found in the entire Wlop mansion.

"The more I think about it, nanny, the less I understand why my parents hate me so much. When I turned seven, Emma and I used to be the best sisters. My parents loved both of us equally. But suddenly, everything changed."

"My parents forcibly removed me from my room, where I was so happy, and brought me to this room, where there were only old and useless furniture."

"What happened in just one day for them to hate me so much? I don't know what great sin I committed as a child to deserve their hatred this way!"

Upon hearing Diana's words, Aria couldn't help but cry out of remorse. If she hadn't made the mistake of calling Emma by Diana's name on the day Emma pushed her mother down the stairs, none of this would be happening to Diana.

...----------------...

Aria's mind went back to that fateful traffic accident.

...----------------...

It was her third day of work at the Wlop mansion. Aria was twenty-five years old; when she was hired by Tania to be the new nanny for the two girls.

Aria didn't know the girls well, so she couldn't easily distinguish which of the girls was Emma or which one was Diana. The only thing Aria knew was that one of the girls was very rebellious.

Aria walked into the girls' room with the intention of managing to take them to school.

"What are you doing, sweetheart?" Aria asked when she saw one of the girls standing in front of her sister's closet.

"What? Can't you see? I'm looking for clothes to change," Emma replied, annoyed to see her new nanny in the room.

"That's not your closet, it's your sister's."

"Just give me a second, I'll find your clothes myself," Aria said, walking towards the girl in front of her.

"No, I want Diana's clothes. I didn't like mine anymore," Emma continued, grabbing some of Diana's clothes.

"Miss Emma, that's impossible. You can't wear your sister's clothes, it's your parents' orders."

"I'm going to tell my parents on you!" Emma exclaimed angrily for not being able to achieve her goal.

Emma turned around to run out of the room, but before she did, she took a hand gel that belonged to Diana.

Emma started throwing the gel all over the floor, hoping Aria would slip. Once finished, Emma kept the empty bottle and walked luxuriously to her mother's room.

Upon reaching her parents' room, Emma paused before entering. They were discussing the baby's gender that Tania was expecting.

"It will be a boy!"

"Finally, I will give birth to a boy. We will name him Marcelo, just like your father."

"We're really naming our first son Marcelo!"

"Why not? Besides, he will be the future heir of all this!"

Emma clenched her little hand tightly. She hated sharing her parents' attention with someone else, and a brother was coming to take away all the attention.

"I'm very scared. The doctor mentioned that I have to take great care since my uterus became very sensitive after the pregnancies of the two girls."

Upon hearing her mother say that, a wicked idea crossed Emma's mind. Slowly, Emma moved away from her parents' room to avoid being seen by them.
