A car arrived at the Price mansion. Out of it stepped Izan and Dylan, the latter obviously in a bad mood at being forced to go. He didn't want to apologize since it was Anne who had disrespected Emily. Both visitors were greeted by Josh who led them to the room where Anne was.
"Anne, I apologize for coming until today, I brought this brat to apologize and I assure you it won't happen again."
"Of course not, my father already knows what happened. I don't know how he will react."
Izan clenched his fist on his cane upon hearing the girl's words. It seems Anne had inherited Roy's arrogance.
"I'll speak with him later. Dylan, I imagine you have something to say."
Dylan bowed his head slightly.
"I'm sorry for what happened, I should have been more aware of what I was doing."
"I hope that relationship is over. I was not raised to be the wife of an unfaithful man."
Anne crossed her arms, while Dylan looked furious at her words.
"Don't worry, Anne, I'll make sure everything ends."
"Thank you, Mr. Harvey, you are very considerate."
After a few compliments from Izan to Anne, they both left. Anne only pursed her lips and grimaced in disgust, hoping that her father would consider breaking off the engagement, although surely the infidelity wouldn't matter. It was very common; even her father had his affairs.
"How unfortunate, what nerve. That engagement has to be broken."
Neal said, sitting down next to Anne. Although Dylan's lover was his sister Emily, the truth was that he wasn't the real Neal and he didn't feel any affection for that girl, unlike Anne, whom he had gotten to know quite well. In a mansion outside the city, guarded by several men, Samael had arrived. It was the home of Roy, who received his son, somewhat angry.
"Get to the point. And no, I won't break off Anne's engagement."
"The Harvey family doesn't have much influence. Why the insistence on joining them?"
"Precisely because they don't have enough power yet. When they do, they will be on my side. Lately they have been climbing high."
"How ridiculous, selling your daughter for that. I remind you that you are Anne's father, not her pimp."
Roy slammed his fist on the desk at Samael's words.
"What? Did it hurt that I told the truth?"
"Anne is getting married. I'm not giving her to other men."
"It's the same thing. You're selling her for a little power. Wasn't it enough for you to ruin my mother's life, now you're ruining my sister's?"
"Don't bring your mother into this."
"Why? Does it hurt you to know that she finally left you and there's no way you can bring her back?"
"Shut up, your mother was weak. The fact that she's dead is proof of that."
"My mother was brave. She put up with your abuse for years until she saw us leave this house. She was able to go to rest in peace; she was finally free of you."
Roy tried to throw an ashtray at Samael, but Samael managed to dodge it.
"Leave Anne alone, because I'm not a child you can intimidate anymore."
Samael stood up to leave the office and could hear his father throwing things around. He seemed like a child throwing a tantrum, but it didn't matter. He would find a way to free Anne from that engagement, and he knew how to do it. Getting into the car, he dialed a number.
{It's me... I have a proposition for you. Good. I'll see you there.}
Samael told the driver where to go. He didn't like the idea of what he was going to do, but it was an option to prevent Anne from having to marry that wretch Dylan. Later that same day, Samael arrived at the house. He went to the kitchen for water, and as he went up to his room, Neal was there playing with his phone.
"I don't remember saying you could come up whenever you want."
"I had to come up. The air in my room isn't working."
"Ask them to fix it, Josh is in charge of that."
Samael took off his suit jacket and hung it on the coat rack. Without realizing it, Neal had hugged him from behind and rested his chin on the brunette's shoulder.
"You're so cruel. I already told Josh but the technician isn't coming until three days."
"Then share a room."
"That's the idea, that's why I'm here."
Neal didn't hesitate to run his hands down the brunette's back and began to unbutton his shirt. Samael let out a sigh and stopped his hands only to turn around, grabbing the back of Neal's neck to pull him closer and kiss him. It was a desperate kiss, immediately savoring the lips of the black-haired man who clung to him, returning the kiss.
