The sunlight gave its first signs in Rory’s room. The woman move her hand over her face, and rolled down the huge bed. Just imagining all the events she would have to attend that day, she felt tired. She got up from bed and looked all over the room, it was nothing like her room in the palace, it irritated her even more.
"Lunch at 10, then I will have meetings with other nations, in the middle of the afternoon I have to see the Priest of Lankes and at the end of the night there is the event that the Council is organizing." She revised her entire agenda in her mind. All those boring events, with people pretending an interest in something bigger, when in fact it was just their fragile ego.
Rory stood up, and found her suitcase nowhere, she walked to the closet and saw that her clothes were arranged there, she needed to thank Rast later. The Princess went to the room and saw that on the table there was a huge breakfast basket.
"Good morning princess." She heard Rast’s soft voice and smiled.
"You didn’t have to organize everything. Thank you." She approached the basket and took one of the savory loaves. "I will separate the clothes for the exchanges, the guards have been notified of the schedule?"
"Yes, everything is organized. If we follow the plan, there will be no delay in their commitments. It’s 8 o'clock now, I’ve opened the curtains, I beg your pardon for disturbing the princess’s sleep." Rory just shook his head like it wasn’t important.
She turned around about to go back to the room, Rory stopped halfway, thinking about whether to talk or not. The words stuck in her throat, itching to get out, but the fear of receiving a bad responsibility tormented her.
"Rast, Timothy..." Her voice was fearful, the words seemed to wound her throat, as if she swallowed a ball of needles.
"He was transferred to the protection division of Flower of Vidris." Rory nodded, was relieved, but not happy with that response.
The princess continued on her way, the perfectly organized changes of clothes. Perfect for every occasion. Unlike her arrival the day before, she would bring a more peaceful picture. Her hatred was unique and exclusive to Kiori, though she felt no sympathy for almost any nation, she was not to make so many enemies.
She left the room, the golden crown on her head and a sweet smile on her lips. All his appearance was contrary to the aggressive form of the previous day, the guards who saw the princess for the first time like that thought they were seeing a fairy. The fabric was light, metallic details skirted her bust and climbed up to her neck, the long dress dragged across the floor. The sleeves met down from his shoulders, leaving them exposed. They are filled with layers of fabric and their butterfly-shaped bar coming close to the ground.
"Remember, Telfy needs to establish a good relationship with other nations. Be kind." The clothes of that day were just to ward off Rory’s image of Princess Rory. The word “gentle” made her roll her eyes. She liked those clothes, in Telfy it was her common kind of dress, but the reason she had to wear them was what bothered her.
"When Telfy stopped being a rumor, we were kind, they returned invasions." She rolled her eyes.
Ten years ago, Telfy was just a rumor, a kingdom hidden in the middle of the huge forest, where all ancient magic was preserved. Magic was what kept Telfy, everything exists and everything that will exist in the Kingdom comes from the magical teachings. The oldest known magic is the Elemental, which Telfy has all the knowledge. A type of magic that allows people born without magical skills to use magic in the right way.
Telfy remained isolated for thousands of years, the wealth of their land was immense, minerals, flowers, animals that had never been seen before, all that was real. Other nations sent troops to Telfy, exploring and plundering the sides of the kingdom, but they never managed to go deeper into the forest.
"I don’t want a partnership with them, I want their respect. I want them to stop using magic as an accessory in their lives, they will cause the destruction of the world, as they did thousands of years ago!" She let out a long sigh. "Let’s get to lunch."
Rory left the matter as closed, she left the room and saw the rest of the guards in the hallway. The guards greeted the princess, she greeted them and walked to the elevator.
Rory’s arrival at lunch was silent, the guards were outside, and only the counselor accompanied the woman. The complete change in the look of the princess made everyone amazed. The light tone of the clothes, the thin fabric, was a complete contrast with the clothes of the previous day. The hair with the curls open. Many could have sworn they were seeing sparkles around the Princess.
"I see the princess has decided to change her approach."
"I hope the change of my clothes doesn’t make you think my opinion of you had changed, Counselor Decor." She looked at the man approaching her.
"Don’t be so aggressive, we’re here on a festive day." He put his hand on the princess' shoulder. "If you saw our plans, you would see that Telfy will benefit."
Rory looked at her hand on her shoulder and closed her fists tightly, she forced herself to open a smile that seemed to be completely natural. I was about to talk when Rast stood in the middle of the two.
"Sorry to disturb, but I usually get anxious at these times, lunch is about to begin. We should talk about this at the meeting scheduled for after lunch." Rast smiled embarrassed at the counselor. "We need to retreat for a few seconds."
Rast walked away from the counselor, being accompanied by the princess. The woman had a confused and grateful look, she really hated being touched without permission and in front of all those people she could not do anything, her fame was no longer very good.
"House Laguna has lost its post, and next month they will vote to decide whether a new home will take the place of House Laguna or the office will be vacant to be decided by the people." Rory removed the crown from his head and saw the design of the pearl falling apart. The other 7 drawings were still intact.
"Tell my grandmother to wait for me to return, House Laguna can try something to make the population revolt. Say it’s a preliminary decision." Rory looked around. "At the end of the week we will be back, House Laguna is the one that has the greatest involvement with the proposals for Kiori. This information will be leaked to the population, and they will not be able to say that it was an injustice. The involvement of my sisters will also be revealed."
A bell was heard throughout the hall, people walked to their respective tables. Rast and Rory’s desk was separated, the two went their separate ways. Rory looked at each table and as soon as he found his name on one of the plates he sat in his place.
"Sorry for the delay." She greeted everyone present, the tone of her voice was soft and she smiled. She looked at the person in front of her and tipped her head to the side, showing confusion.
"We are seeing each other many times in a short time." Liev said smiling.
"The lord of fate can be funny sometimes. You’re here how?"
"I am one of the students of the Academy."
"I see Princess Rory is good at growing her network of acquaintances." The Priest of Lankes spoke lazily. If you are expecting an old person, I will have to say that you are completely wrong.
"Priest, Pierre, it was just a chance meeting. I was lost yesterday, and he helped me get back to the hotel."
