You are weird

Lindyz wouldn't leave her side, Rory couldn't even tell what she was talking about, she changed the subject like 5 times in 10 minutes.

“This is Liev… he's almost like my brother!” The brunette placed a man in front of the princess, she seemed to recognize him.

"You seemed to be just one of Kiori's employees, if I had known I would have told you to bring me here." She waved at the man, he was less shaky and pale than the time they'd met.

“Do you always threaten people who offer you help?” Liev spoke confusedly. Both must have known the situation the other had been through.

“Those who touch me without permission is… yes?” He said it like it was obvious. “And it was a simple warning, you guys are dramatic.”

“You speak as if threatening others is a small thing…” Lindyz grumbled.

Rory turned her face away just ignoring the woman's comment, the whole discussion was irritating.

“You direct a lot of hate towards the people of Kiori, as soon as you recognize that they are people from here your urge to kill grows even stronger. Because?" Liev spoke in a calm and curious tone, leaning his arm on the counter and facing the princess. Rory's eyes widened, she didn't care if the people there noticed her hatred, but it was strange that they did.

“You sure know how to have a little courage.” Rory crossed her arms and laid her head to the side.

"Without a dagger around the neck, anyone can do it."

The bracelet on her wrist turned into the same dagger she had on when she first encountered the man.

Lindyz approached the two and took Liev away from the princess, she didn't trust that woman. The rumors about her weren't pleasant at all, she didn't know how she managed to be loved by her people, in reality she thought they feared her.

“Liev is right, your hatred of Kiori is meaningless.” The woman spoke in a low tone. "Telfy wants to strike deals with Kiori for technology and share his knowledge of ancient magic, thereby furthering Kiori's technology advancement." Lindyz saw the woman completely calm.

She was going to speak again but felt something nudging her back. She looked to the side and saw Liev pointing to a glass on the table, it was completely frozen.

“It was Liev who told me.” She took two steps back leaving the man in front of the princess.

“Do you guys know what the source of the magic you use for this technology of yours really is?” Rory got up and took a few steps closer to the two.

"It's a fountain with concentrated magic, it doesn't need to be replenished, and it can also be very unstable."

“I'm not talking about that, you know what it is? The name, where do they come from?” The two didn't seem to have any intention of answering. “You have no idea what it is you use. I wonder... if you found out what it is, would you stop using it, or would it just make you reach for more? I think the second option.” Rory stood up and gave the two a single look.

“You talk as if the people who developed the technology committed some kind of crime.” Liev looked at her as if he had a completely different piece of knowledge in front of him, wanting to discover every little detail.

The princess didn't say anything else, she just turned to leave the bar. She no longer felt comfortable in that place, now she lost the least amount of courage she had.

“Princess, I don't think it's a good idea to return to the city alone. People here are not very trustworthy." Lindyz yelled ready to go after the woman.

Rory didn't turn around to wait for someone to say something, she made a simple wave of her hand and a great roar filled the bar. The strong wind started running through the closed place, people were almost panicking. Small strands of water followed the wind, they grew thicker as they went, both the water and the wind headed in the same direction, The Princess. Gradually the air currents began to take on a purple hue and mixed with the water. Both intertwined taking the form of a large tiger. The tiger took a few steps forward and roared loudly.

“This woman is completely insane.” Lindyz turned to Liev, who seemed delighted with the whole thing.

“You… Liev! Come back here!"

Before the dark-skinned woman could say anything else, her friend had already run after Rory. Lindyz looked at the people at the bar and ran her hands through her curly hair.

“I will kill him if he dies!”

****************

Outside the bar, Liev could see people making way for the woman to pass with the huge tiger. Everyone there had the same expression, fear and surprise. Liev ran to catch up with her before he lost courage, after all that tiger could destroy him and he had no doubt that that woman would order that animal to do just that.

“Princess Rory!” He spoke loud enough for her to hear.

Rory thought it odd and turned around, her look completely confused. She didn't understand what he was doing there.

“I'll take you to her hotel. I've been wanting to talk to you some more.” He looked at the tiger and laughed nervously. "I know you don't need someone to protect you."

Rory opened her mouth, but she didn't have an answer for something like that.

"He has to be crazy, everyone here is." She let out a low laugh at the thought. Considered her fame in Kiori to be worse than that among her own family and that was a difficult thing. For a native to want to talk to her was strange to say the least.

"Do whatever you want." The princess continued on her way, if he went after her, it was his problem.

Liev followed the woman, in the first few minutes he was quiet, he didn't know if she was really accepting his company or just didn't want to throw him out in the middle of all those people. Over time, he got up the courage to start a conversation.

“How do you create your magic?” He was careful not to look too excited.

"Magic is not created, humans are not born with the gift of magic as you say." She rolled her eyes, gift of magic that was really ridiculous. “Magic exists everywhere, we know how to manipulate it. Each body can withstand magic differently. Some are stronger than others." She turned to the man. "Telfy specializes in elemental magic, the foundation for everything else to exist. And I'm not just talking about the basic elements that you know. The base of magic is much broader.”

“Wide how?”

Rory's eyes widened at his question, this person was becoming more and more strange to her. She turned and continued on her way.

“It's something complex, you usually hear people saying that they control a certain thing or a weapon dominated by a type of magic. Like people who have mastered water-related magic, they only master water. The elementals seek to dominate everything that involves water as a base.” She made more and more layers of water appear on the tiger. Her hand passed over the creature and the water turned to ice. “When you master an Elemental, you pass it to another, thus allowing you to join them and form their variations. This makes magic more stable and powerful, but it is also a tedious and risky process. Most people are not willing to do it.”

“This is interesting, you learn everything to branch out later, other people learn isolated parts.”

"It's not wrong, they just have more risks when exploring new areas."

Rory didn't even realize that they were practically on the way out of town, the girl looked at him a little puzzled. The tiger beside her turned to Liev and snarled at him, the man took a few steps back, startled by the tiger's action.

Rory glared at the tiger and he sat down next to her, his ears flattened, but she didn't seem to care.

“Can anyone learn magic?” He looked curiously at the woman.

“Rightly, yes. Rory glanced toward the stairs, it was getting late. His assistant would soon notice that she wasn't at the festival. “You don't have to go with me to the hotel.” She signaled the tiger to start up the stairs.

“As the princess wishes… I hope to see you at tomorrow's event.” Liev waved at the woman.

Rory didn't know how to act in that kind of situation, nobody expected her, the people in that place were getting weirder and weirder.
