Blood Of Redemption

Blood Of Redemption

Arrival

The complete port was crowded, boxes passing everywhere, people from the most distinguished leaving the ships, boats from the most common to the most exotic that depended on magic or technology. The first time in history, where so many nations met in one place. In the midst of all the chaos of people, in front of a huge ship, the guards opened a corridor. The vessel was huge and luxurious, alternating between green and gold. A huge staircase began to form, step by step. From the top of the ship, three large birds flew, the feathers in neon tones that were never seen in animals. The strong aroma of the sea began to disappear with time, and in place a citrus aroma took over.

“We announce the arrival of the Thirteenth Princess of Telfy, Princess Rory D'Rostal.” The deep voice was heard throughout the harbour.

At the top of the stairs was a woman, the shoe completely black, the only detail was in silver, where a flower seemed to be involved in the jump. The princess wore a short dress in a dark green hue. The skirt reached just below the knee, it was made by several layers of fabric, bringing lightness and movement to the piece. The boot was fair and covered almost the entire lap, only in the middle a small space was open.

The brown and wavy threads descended a few centimetres below the shoulder. His face with a very sharp chin, small nose, red and full lips, but not too big. The eyes in a dark brown tone, with the edges slightly accentuated. His expression showed power, it was like a huge warning of danger. On top of his head a golden crown, three different flowers adorned the crown.

In the first step of the princess, the bar of the dress began to become black. With each step of it the black rose until reaching the middle of the dress and form a gradient with green, at that time black lines rose in the dress, outlining the clothes on the body of the princess. At that time, almost everyone in the port was looking at that great arrival.

She looked forward and watched at the end of the corridor, opened by the guards, three people. Her fists closed tightly, but she continued on. The two men kept their faces straight and their postures straight, while the woman had a friendly smile on her face.

“The King of Telfy informed us that there would be a large entrance on the part of the Tenth…”

“Princess Rory.” corrected the man. “My father did not participate in the preparations of the trip and even if he had participated, he would not be wrong. That wasn’t a big entrance.” She looked at the woman talking and directed her gaze at the two men. “ Send the schedule of events to my assistant, he will inform in which events I will be present and will pass the necessary recommendations.” The princess’s tone was impatient, finding it unnecessary to have to speak, which to her was obvious. “ Board accommodations are not required, as stated before, a hotel room has already been booked. Just contact me at official times.” The fake smile on Rory’s face was seen by everyone, and she made no point of hiding it.

“The princess has interesting demands… when we were informed of the change of representative, the Kings said there would be no change. The First Princess had a good reception with the ideals of the Kiori Council.“ The man on the right took a step forward, the princess did not direct a look at him. His voice showed total discontent with the woman in front of him.

“My sister’s standards are lower than mine, she’ll take anything.” The princess slowly turned her face towards the man, the blonde had a boring appearance in her vision. “Ah! And if you are so interested in my sister, I recommend that you seek information on the reason that my sister was replaced. Or the next one with a replacement will be you.”

She made no point of maintaining education with those three people, when the change of Kiori’s representative was announced, Rory made it clear that she would not accept anything from the board. Transportation, stay and food, everything would be arranged by your advisor.

They continued the way to the hotel that they would be staying, the way was a little far, but Rory did not care. Her expression remained the same from beginning to end. She didn’t even know how many protocols she had broken any more, it wasn’t her problem. When I got back to Telfy, I’d settle this with your parents.

“Princess, your parents plan to establish closer relations with the Kiori Council, your actions today may hinder their desire.” The counsellor had a low, hesitant voice. He knew that dealing with the princess with that temper was difficult.

“Rast… I didn’t come here to help my parents. If something like this were to happen, my first sister would be here, or any of the others.” She let out a long sigh and looked at the counsellor’s face, the tip of his nose was a blue shade and moved in a few moments. “ After we get to the hotel, let them know all the guards are clear and so are you.”

Rory took the penthouse of the hotel, left the bags near the bed, she just opened one to change her clothes for something more comfortable. He removed the crown from his head, and it fell apart on a long liquid silver wire until it condensed back into a smooth bracelet.

Rory had no intention of staying at the hotel, walked slowly through the streets of downtown Kiori, she looked at the map twice before leaving, in a short time she would be in the central square. The streets were quiet and the only noise you could hear was the sound of tennis against the asphalt. It was still daylight, but few people walked the streets.

“Sorry, miss.” Rory didn’t have time to react when he felt his arm being held and pulled down.

She looked to the side, seeing a man, who had probably stumbled and leaned on her. He had a gentle smile on his face and wore simple clothes. He put his hand in his coat pocket and handed a pamphlet to the princess.

“A welcome note for the young lady.”

Rory made a face when the man left, she imagined it was one of the ridiculous ads about the big festival of the night, the same to which she was going. Rory looked at the paper with total disinterest at first, but soon his expression became curious.

“Get rid of the council charlatans, this is the real party.” Under the address “The Four Deaths”.

“A creative name for a bar…, or whatever that thing is.” She kept the pamphlet in her pants pocket and continued on her original path, before anything else she needed to find out what it was like that funeral they called the festival.

At the entrance of the festival, a huge poster stood out. The common blonde was stamped in a ridiculous heroic pose, “Counsellor Decor and his partner change the course of magic “''At the time of technology arrived”.

“Pathetic.” She let out a muffled laugh and continued on her way.

Everyone there wore flashy clothes, looked like a huge architecture project, and Rory wondered how some of them could walk. Those things were not bad, but they were not good. As she walked, the smell of sea mixed with alcohol became strong.

“The pirate fish dared to show his face in Kiori.” An unknown voice screamed in the middle of the people, Rory turned his face, knowing who the smell of alcohol was.

“The board has agreed to suspend my charges during this time, and a good pirate never turns down a good party.” A man with visible scales was leaning on a set of boxes, in his hand a huge mug with what should be alcohol, his ears different from human, hair in a brown tone and a seductive smile on his lips. “ Besides that the High Royal Magic is present, I could not miss this opportunity. They say this is the first time since Telfy has been confirmed that they appear in public.” The black eyes turned to Rory, and he bowed to the princess.

“You and your captain still owe me for stepping on Telfy. Take a shower, the smell of alcohol makes me nauseous.  She grimaces and turns her face. “ Don’t cause any trouble here, Telfy’s a long way off for you to get shelter.”

“You should take your own advice, Princess. Word of your threatening Counsellor Decor is already circulating. Of course, I thought it was great news. Captain Kaleena and I bet how long it would take you to threaten any of them, and I obviously won.” Hui spoke as if he was always flirting with someone, sloppy clothes and messy hair were the perfect combo to attract people without the knowledge of the pirate’s fame.

Rory noticed the amount of people around the fish man increasing, pirates were always a good source of information.

“Get out.” His harsh voice caused everyone around the pirate to walk away.

“Does the smell of alcohol make me nauseous? Became a joker after these months?” he offered the mug to the woman. “It’s true, the princess has to give a good image to the foreigners… but I believe you started out a little wrong”

“Wipe that stupid grin off your face.” The woman took out the pamphlet she got earlier. “ Find out where it comes from, by text they are not very friendly to the council.”

“She hasn’t even arrived and already wants to discover the enemies of the local government. Hurry!” He took the paper and looked at the ad. “So much colour, that chaos… Dev!”

The crew Hui was part of had a very practical way of organizing, a name and a function. They just needed to scream, that everything would start to flow. Rory didn’t even know if that was really their name or the role they carried within the crew, she didn’t have any interest in knowing either.

“You’re less despicable when you’re useful, Hui.”

The brown put his hand on his chest as if touched by the sweet words of the princess, moved away from the boxes and left the mug on them. Hui leaned over to Rory’s face, approached her ear and whispered.

“We know I’m the princess’s favourite.”

“When you have twice the chest… maybe.” She put her finger on the man’s chest and pushed him away.
