Episode 7

Mirna spat harshly when she saw her mother-in-law suddenly appear and greet her. She looked at her sister-in-law with a pale face, especially the mother-in-law's last question made her heart beat fast.

"Mirna, is that your vitamin? Are you pregnant now?"

Once again, the mother-in-law repeated the question that made Mirna confused to answer.

Seeing her nervous daughter-in-law's face, as well as Meisya's confused face showing worry, Mirna's mother-in-law changed her conclusion. "Perhaps mama's guess was wrong," said the woman.

"Mom." Mirna immediately reached for her mother-in-law's hand to explain everything. "Actually, I have a consultation schedule, Mom. Mas Rendy and I are on a program, and coincidentally I got my period today. Mas Rendy is really busy so I asked Meisya to come with me."

Mirna regulated her breathing so as not to appear nervous in front of her mother-in-law. She had to lie so that neither she nor her sister would face bigger problems. They had to think of a solution first before revealing the truth that could not be hidden for too long.

No matter how hard they tried to cover Meisya's pregnancy, it would eventually be exposed as her belly grew bigger.

Mirna's mother-in-law frowned while looking at her daughter-in-law and then at Meisya alternately. When she felt that it wasn't too suspicious, the woman nodded and agreed with what Mirna said.

"Okay, I believe you. But, if this sister of yours causes a problem that tarnishes our family's reputation, Mama won't let them stay with you!" threatened Mirna's mother-in-law, who did not hesitate to give Meisya a sharp glance.

Since her parents passed away, Meisya had been staying at Mirna and Rendy's house because her parents went bankrupt and left a lot of debt. Rendy's parents didn't live with them, but his mother often visited and seemed to dislike Meisya, considering her a burden.

Meisya couldn't imagine what would happen to her brother's marriage if Rendy's parents found out about her pregnancy later.

"Mom, what brings you here?" Mirna asked to divert her mother-in-law's attention.

Since she came to the hospital this morning, Rendy's birth mother must have something urgent.

"Mom has a problem with her knee, that's why she's here," answered Mirna's mother-in-law. "Where are you going to study after this? Haven't you graduated already?" asked the woman, now shifting her attention to the younger sister of her daughter-in-law.

Meisya, who had been bowing her head, now gathered her courage to look at her brother's mother-in-law's face as a sign of respect.

"I-I think I'm going to work first, Aunt," Meisya answered nervously.

The meeting between Mirna and her mother-in-law only lasted a short while because the woman had to attend to a doctor's appointment which happened to be not far from where they were standing at the moment. After Rendy's mother left, Meisya could breathe a sigh of relief, feeling a little calmer.

Mirna then dragged her sister to leave the hospital and invited Meisya to visit Ello's house immediately. However, once again Meisya reminded her sister that Ello had already left the country.

"I don't think we need to go there, sis. It won't yield anything except shame and humiliation," Meisya said as they were still waiting for a taxi to go to Ello's house.

But it seemed that Mirna's intention to fight for her sister's fate was firm and could not be contested. "No, Sya. Rendy is already on his way to Ello's house. Even though Ello isn't there, his parents must still be there. They need to know what their child has done. Rendy has also investigated the CCTV in the hotel where you stayed!"
